Strange story but last year i dealt with an addiction and started watching this podcast when i could barely do anything else, 1 year later im sober and hearing these Gazza stories really cracks me up. If someone else out there deals with addiction dont forget, one day at a time, we got this!!!
Wishing you all the very best and your continued recovery mate. I work in addiction and have experienced it firsthand as an Affected Other, and hearing people doing well makes me very happy
Got him from lazio still in his 20s year before euro 96.. and he was enjoying his football him and Laudrup mccoist..scored alot of goals and watching gazza just turn a game with moments of pure genius.. actually met him was surprised how small he was but he was strong on the ball use his body just turn glide past players for fun . Genuinely lovely bloke, when Luton get relegated away to Notts County in 1992, we saw Gazza in a chauffer driven limo on the way home, we mooned our behinds at him, so he stuck his arse out of the window back, we laughed all the way home down the M1 lol🤣🤣
That reminds of that old joke about Andy Cole and Gazza driving thru Newcastle Town centre. They're getting abuse every time they stop at lights. Finally Gazza says I've had enough of this and sticks his bare arse out of the window. All the local Geordies start singing "there's only one Peter Beardsley" Something like that anyway. I can't remember it exactly.
@@VillaBoys123 fair comment. Unfortunately that's the problem with having addiction & mental health issues. Gazza the footballer is only a very small part of who he really is.
He was superb but he peaked around 1990, too many distractions and unfulfilled potential. On the England front Graham Taylor didn’t help him at all, dropping him for his first game. Knew we’d be in for a rough 4 years from that point
Brilliant. I'm a Geordie who saw Gazza in his darkest times back home in various bars. To see him looking good and full of smiles is special. Thank you everyone involved!
Growing up in the 90s and watching Gazza play up here in Scotland was special. Coming from a non Rangers fan and a Scotland fan he was an absolute joy to watch. if we had only stuck away that penalty. Love you Gazza, one of the greatest to play in Scotland. Which is pretty impressive considering Laudrup, Larsson or anyone of this modern era here. We were lucky to have you here. Hope you stay well. thank you x
Loved seeing Gazza play. Greatest talent England ever had. Forget Gerrard, Lampard, Scholes and the rest, this is the player I would have liked most to see in a Leeds United shirt. A Very special player. Best wishes 🤍🤍
Gazza was when I really started loving footie, he was a class above everyone other then maybe John Barnes, spend 30 mins watching Gazza footage on RUclips and enjoy.
Aw mate, you couldn't believe how MASSIVE Paul Gasgcoine was. He was a superstar before the Internet and social media made superstars every other week. He was the first British global superstar. Not long after Trevor Francis became the first British million pound transfer, that shows you how primitive British football was in the 80s and 90s, but Gazza eclipsed all of that. He was EVERYWHERE, and world famous at a time when British footballers weren't known throughout the world. Paul gascgoine was an absolute superstar, and probably Britain's first global superstar. You just cannot put into perspective how iconic Gazza was. Well never see another like him. Wayne Rooney was probably the closest thing we've had since, in terms of world wide fame, but even up against Wayne Rooney, Gazza outshone him.
Just got round to watching this. As I thought. This was brilliant!! Could listen to Gazzas stories all day. Great to see him looking well and on top form.....
The part where Gazza was talking about everything that went on at United when people say that Ferguson would keep Gazza under control is so funny man, what funny likable guy man I am glad he is looking well.
At 6 years old I saw him for the first time and 32 years later my obsession with football is stronger than ever. The memories of gazza with a ball at his feet will live with me until the day I die. My first hero. What a player

Didnt see much of gazza whilst he was at Newcastle being a liverpool fan but once saw him beat five players in the opposition box. He just had a sixth sense and eyes in the back of his hand and superb ball control. A true one off.
Watched Gazza for years, used to go to the training ground with my disabled son, Gazza made a beeline for him. I was also in the St John's winter time Gazze used to throw snowballs at us to try and knock our hats off. Years late I was at Boldon when he was signing his book, and give him his due he remembered me straight away. Lovely person glad your in good health these days.
Three England legends of my childhood on one podcast Gazza Legend Shearer I had the grey euro 96 shirt with number nine on and Italia 90 all legends and inspirational on my football journey
I am not English nor do I live in England now but Gazza got me supporting England till this day today. I remember Living in England in the early 90s and watching Italia 90. Gazzas tricks his vulnerability in defeats got me really emotional. I remember people were looking at me like I was crazy when England vs Brazil 2002 was playing and everyone except me supported England. Gazza got people supporting England, I am not sure anyone else has had the same influence in England as him since the 1990s
Thanks so much for doing this, it’s brought such a big smile to my day, hearing Gazza in great form. 1990 was the first World Cup I remember watching and he is and always will be such a legend. As you signed off, we all love him and hope he stays well.
Probably the greatest thing I've ever seen on RUclips! I work hard, play hard and I'm just a teacher. When kids tell me I'm the best teacher ever, I think of Gazza... Kids you should have seen me dying on my arse on Sunday 😂
For me watching you three talk is so wonderful to me. I was in basic training with the Army in 1990, and they only let us watch a few games, I missed the semi final. In 1996 I was sent to Bosnia on my 2nd 6 month tour, and I listened to the opening match via the World service on a Bosnian hillside in 40° C , never eaten a Toblerone since. We flew home on an RAF Hercules during the Spain match back to Germany, and we only knew the result when we landed. I watched the semi in Germany with my German girlfriend (now wife of 25 years), and still think of those days and what could have been. It doesn't matter, as I get on, the memories, the life, the players you all were, the music in both tournaments (New order 90s) (Oasis 96) means everything to me. It shaped my life, it makes me proud to have watched and supported such people as you, who cares if we didn't win, your goal Gazza against Scotland, your goal Shearer against Holland, and big ears, well your goals ;) Thanks you all. God bless!
My Grandpa was born in Ashington in 1920. A bloke he played football with scouted Gazza. When I saw him in an England friendly he was the best footballer I ever saw along with my hero Ian Wright Wright Wright. Gazza will always be a legend for me. I love Gazza!
Gazza was an absolute baller...what a pleasure that was listening to him, folded me in half with laughter. Best raw natural talented footballer England have ever produced. Glad he looks well and healthy...if Gazza's happy football fans are happy. Love and best wishes to you Paul ❤
Favourite episode so far and seeing gazza being well is amazing. I remember my cousin and I being taken by one of Gazzas agents to a spurs game and we both ended up getting a daft as a brush toothbrush and vhs of fishing with Gazza. He is still a hero and turns this 45 year old Into a 10 year old again!
what hero man, makes me proud to be a geordie!!! sat for a whole hour with a smile on me face the entire time, could listen too him talk all day man, love you Gazza

This was the most delightful, hilarious, wonderful reminder that Gazza is just an all-round legend. Was touch and go for the fella more than once, but he looks so much better these days and he's just on top form in this one. I know he's a busy man and has other stuff to do, but man it'd be the ultimate move to have Gazza be a regular guest every couple of months or something. Cheers lads!

Always a legend, on and off the pitch. He played for the love of the game, not just the money like so many today, he would blow most modern players out off the water. What an ace.
What an amazing interview, from an incredible person and player. He was amazing. For me 1990 is my best World Cup memories ever. We had such a good team and were so close to winning it. Between Lineker, Gaza, Chris Waddle , teams were scared of us
Gazza is the true definition of a footballer that played because he loved the game of football. Not for the money, not for the fame or the glamour or the girls. He did it because he loved playing football and he was always himself from a kid to a grown man he didn't change one bit. Legend of the game, it's what a lot of players are missing in todays game
My footballing idol as a kid! So many happy amazing memories watching gazza! I'm a united fan an I always get asked who my favourite united player is an I always say no 1 else mattered to me as a kid except gazza! Always get a lump in my throat when I think how close we came to winning Italia 90 an euro 96! What an absolute player!!
Flawed genius like most geniuses in sport life who are gifted , wish him all best , and he finds peace with his troubles , brilliant podcast , from first minute been smiling emotional being 61 , this is such a brilliant 👏 watch , keep up great work lads
Absolute talent who never fails to put a smile on everyone’s face. Privileged to have shared the field with him on a few occasions (opposing team) from youth, reserves and first teams. Stay well, Gazza!
It’s great to see Gazza doing well and sharing some great memories, hilarious as always! Had the pleasure of watching him at Ibrox many times! Personally I believe we got the best of Gazza at Rangers! Still have my 95/96 shirt with Gazza 8 on the back! What a legend! 🇬🇧💙
Thank you Gazza for your incredible skill on the pitch and your stories off it . I’m amazed you can remember them all . Stay well and healthy . You look amazing . Brilliant podcast . Thanks to everyone
So good. Great to see him doing well. He brought a lot of happiness to people through his football career, now seeing him happy and healthy in his life is what makes us happy. Legend.
2:15 Gary: "Early on in your career, didn't you get turned down by a few clubs on trial?" Gazza: "Yeah. Stringfellows..." He's still got his humour. What a guy. What a legend.
Such a hilarious and brilliant interview and so good to see Gazza happy smiling and looking pretty well too. Long may it continue and what a character and legend!
I remember Gaza playing in a Preseason at Stockort edgley park for middlesbough. He was subbed in the second half and whole ground gave him a standing ovation. It was wonderful
Gazza looking really good, love it, some of my happiest football memories from child hood. That World cup final vs Germany, i was 11 on a school trip and thats all everyone talked about on the coach on the way home was, will we get back for the game. great memories, what a player, Greatest England Player ever.
My late stepdad said that Gazza was the best player he had ever seen with a ball, up there with Maradona! Glad to see you’re doing well and love the stories, personal fav is when you hid the fish in the players car when you was at Rangers 😂😂😂❤
I could not possibly love Paul Gasgcoine any more than I already do. He's an absolute hero to me, and to millions of British lads my age. He made us proud to be England fans. A pride which sticks with me still. England is the home of football, and Gazza is our crowning jewel. A man of the people. Imagine man utd players going to the match on a bus with the fans today... Nope. It wouldn't happen. Gazza, if you ever read this, just know canny lad, we love you, and always will.
Gazza, My Hero❤. This guy could do it all, score free kicks, dribble past 4 or 5 players take them out and score, could cross and pass the ball, head the ball, play pinpoint through balls, tricks, skills…you name it he could do it
@rickychohan252 He won the FA Cup with Spurs, 2 league titles, the Scottish Cup and the Scottish league cup with Rangers. Maybe you should do some research first 👍
obviously heard of Paul but not English so didn’t know too much, seeing a guy who overcame addiction smiling and staying focused on every single day is super inspirational what a great dude
For any younger football fans, I would advise watching 'Mike Bassett England manager' (free on youtube) and there is a character that's based on Gazza that's spot on, it's class, trust me!
Never usually comment. My eyes are filling now. Gazza didn't just play a football match, he LIVED it. Only player to get me so emotional. If only every player had that attitude? No disrespect to Gary or Alan but I'm sure they'll agree Paul Gascoigne was another level.
Best British player of time and no one is close could of been the best player in the world glad to see him happy and healthy god bless you Gazza legend
Gazza did it on the world stage. As famous playing for England as he was any club side. I hope our current squad take note going into the Euros. Greatness awaits

It was Gazza playing for England in Euro 96 that made me realise as a kid what it means to play for your country.
He was a shadow of his former self by 1996. Gazza in 89 and 90 was a different level !
Talent wise I kind of agree. Personally wise he was never happier than at Rangers and during Euro 96. He says it himself.
And Pearce's penalty 👌
What an amazing interview, from an incredible person and player.
He was amazing. For me 1990 is my best World Cup memories ever. We had such a good team and were so close to winning it. Between Lineker, Gaza, Chris Waddle , teams were scared of us
One of the greatest players of all time. Naturally gifted, great to see him doing well. Thanks for this lads
Gazza and Laudrup were genius for Rangers, dream team.
gazza said loads him and laudrup used to Ole' all the opposition just for fun lol
Laudrup is class in my fut
😂😂😂 imagine being that good that ya made it look so easy @@djgremlin5830
Gazza is off this planet. I’m here for all of it. True legend!
9:40 oh my days, havent laughed this hard in a while 🤣

Absolute talent who never fails to put a smile on everyone’s face.
Privileged to have shared the field with him on a few occasions (opposing team) from youth, reserves and first teams.
Stay well, Gazza!
Cantona Rooney & Giggsy absolutely tore to pieces that was hilarious 😂😂😂 love Gazza. WATP🔴⚪️🔵
Gazza is an amazing story teller!!

No… honestly! This is the best piece of football related content I’ve ever watched
So good. Great to see him doing well. He brought a lot of happiness to people through his football career, now seeing him happy and healthy in his life is what makes us happy. Legend.
2:15 Gary: "Early on in your career, didn't you get turned down by a few clubs on trial?"
Gazza: "Yeah. Stringfellows..."
He's still got his humour. What a guy. What a legend.
Who doesn't love Gazza. Brilliant episode 😂😂😂 Great to see him on such fantastic form and looking well. Thanks Gary, Alan and of course Miguel 😅😅😅
That was fantastic, so glad he could just speak his mind. Well done lads!
He’s such a funny bloke. Every England fan must love him.. 🏴 😊
What an episode. Thank, Gazza! And thanks to Gary, Al, and Migel!
Great to see gazza like this proper national treasure my bairn is 6 even he knows how good gazza was and wants be just like him
Good to see you healthy. Recovery is tough but we’re all pulling for you son 🏴🦁🦁🦁🏴
Gazza looking really good, love it, some of my happiest football memories from child hood. That World cup final vs Germany, i was 11 on a school trip and thats all everyone talked about on the coach on the way home was, will we get back for the game. great memories, what a player, Greatest England Player ever.
09:43 to 10:38 left me in absolute stitches 😂
Amazing he remembers all these stories despite the troubles he’s had. #lovegazza
Saw a clip on tiktok and gazza is frigging hilarious!
My late stepdad said that Gazza was the best player he had ever seen with a ball, up there with Maradona! Glad to see you’re doing well and love the stories, personal fav is when you hid the fish in the players car when you was at Rangers 😂😂😂❤
Listened to it on Spotify. Can’t wait to actually watch the gang absolutely lose it. 🤣
Not the same without the video so I save it for that being released!! Gotta love a bit of gazza
Was searching on youtube daily for the past week for the video to come🤣🤣
I could not possibly love Paul Gasgcoine any more than I already do.
Can we hear the lads opinion on Bara Bet free picks? I feel like it's changing the industry.
My absolute hero growing up as a kid. So glad to see him looking so well. Stay strong Gazza there’s only one!
Gazza, My Hero❤. This guy could do it all, score free kicks, dribble past 4 or 5 players take them out and score, could cross and pass the ball, head the ball, play pinpoint through balls, tricks, skills…you name it he could do it
except win trophies!
@rickychohan252 He won the FA Cup with Spurs, 2 league titles, the Scottish Cup and the Scottish league cup with Rangers. Maybe you should do some research first 👍
@@rickychohan252 the last thing spurs won werent it?
@@stevenjackson1451. Nice one Steven, that shut him up 👍. And also he would’ve won trophies 100 percent if he went to Man United anyway
Yeah i agree he woukd have. He would have thrived under Sir Alex i think. We will never know.@CoolMikey81
One of the very best podcasts EVER absolutely brilliant wow What a Legend so so funny what a guy to be around a laugh a minute Keep well Gazza ⚽️👍
obviously heard of Paul but not English so didn’t know too much, seeing a guy who overcame addiction smiling and staying focused on every single day is super inspirational what a great dude
What a legend. Living in the toon now & found a 7" of fog on the tyne the other day. Loved hearing your old stories. Keep well & stay happy ❤
For any younger football fans, I would advise watching 'Mike Bassett England manager' (free on youtube) and there is a character that's based on Gazza that's spot on, it's class, trust me!
Just happy to see Gazza looking stable and healthy. All of the crazy stories are a bonus
That was brilliant 😂😂. Good to see the fella doing well. I hope he can stay in this form
It can't be overstated just how gifted Gazza was as a player. Addiction can get anyone.
I don’t care who you support if you grew up in the 90’s Gazza was our genius he was our Zidane Maradona Messi! You can’t help but love Gazza
Got to love Gazza! Nice to see him well, keep it up man we all love ya.
What a gem of a man Gazza is! Thanks for that epic episode lads !
Love gaz. What a player and man. So happy to see him healthier than he was, hope he comes full circle, great character
