I was on summer vacation with my family and my mom used to plan trips to different places in the US and Canada. And it always amazed my mother that no matter where we went, someone,....at some point in time,....knew my dad. He was a well known doctor (In our small circle), but it was still kind of odd. So it became a running joke on trips and vacations. One morning, my mom and dad were checking out of a pretty nice hotel, so that we could hit the road again and get to our main destination. I was just walking around the lobby and I saw a man that looked very familiar. So I went up to him and said: "Excuse me, but do you know my father?" And he said: "I don't know,...(And he laughed);...Who is your father?" I said: "Holy Sh**!,...you don't know my dad!!,....you're Mr. Magoo,....You're Mr. Howell!!" And he laughed again, with that great deep laugh and said: "Yes,...I am!" I ran across the lobby to get one of my sisters. Nearly ripping her arm out of her socked, I managed to get her there before he left. We stood on the steps and he noticed us waving at him as he drove off, rolled his window down waving back, saying; "See you kids later!",.....all with that big smile on his face. He just seemed like a such a nice guy, to pay attention to a couple of goofy children. So my sister, who was younger than me, said: "Is Gilligan and the Skipper here too!?" I lightly smacked her in the back of the head. (lol)

.. boy, in today’s society they’d say it was sexist 😏 , they’d try to pull it
.. (even though rap is pretty bad, but that’s ok)
Anywhoo .. Thanks again ..🤙🏼
Jim Backus and Natalie Schafer were the only reasons to watch Gilligan's Island.
Well, Alan Hale Jr.(Oliver Hardy) was pretty good too.
I wonder if he's descended from William Backus of the Mayflower. He was one of my 9th great-grandfathers.
WOW! I'm sitting here eating sea salt Popcorners chips asbi watch this. 😳
Howell!!" And he laughed again, with that great deep laugh and said: "Yes,...I am!"
I ran across the lobby to get one of my sisters.
So my sister, who was younger than me, said: "Is Gilligan and the Skipper here too!?"
I lightly smacked her in the back of the head. (lol)
"I married Joan" replaced Howdy Doody on KSD-TV. I have never forgiven him.
🤣🤣🤣
The Maverick one is a comic look at "Bonanza" where he plays Mr.Wheelright and his three sons, looking for women.( Cartwright- Wheelright ).
Cleveland rocks !
He played an undertaker In one episode of "The Wild, Wild West". Alan Hale, Jr. appeared as an US Secret Service man.
He set the standard for the "rich man" character.
