His voice was a huge part of my childhood. From his Scrooge as Mr Magoo to Gilligan's Island and all the cartoon character voices he did. His voice is still imitated today! Sincere flattery.
Yep; I was just gonna say that. A great comedy show with Joan Davis, and Jim Backus playing her husband; Judge Bradley Stevens. There are several episodes here posted on you-tube. Joan Davis was the queen of physical comedy. Every bit as good as I Love Lucy.
@@jackrobinson5974 That was my favorite role of his. He and Joan worked well together. It’s a shame the show didn’t last longer and that Joan didn’t live longer. It was also sad how two years after Joan’s death, the rest of her family died in a house fire.

His natural voice paid the bills big time. Icon!❤️
He made us love life with laughter !
"Just press the button back there marked 'booze.' It's the only way to fly." 😂
When you talk unique, Jim's gotta be right up there.
An iconic character actor very funny man we miss you mr magoo and Thurston rip🙏❤
He was great and had a fantastic voice 😆💖
I prefer your face to your voice &remember you lovingly still in2022
This dude. Can bear. Lee read.
It's BACK US! BACK US! NOT BAC US! DAMN
I know what you mean , it’s a good channel but his pronunciation of names is maddening.
Yes BACK-iss, not “Bach”
Good show thanks for posting 👍
I remember Jim Backus voice of Mr. Magoo
He was the husband in the early ‘50s sitcom I Married Joan.

@@bobbeaumont324 Yes, I researched her bio and had heard about her death and the subsequent fire. Very sad indeed.
He also had his own shortlived sitcom.
I know his niece. She looks exactly like him without a beard, and she has very long hair.
Left out was the radio/TV series "I Married Joan". A judge?
4:29)Was Betty Keane related to a "Superman" creator?
Thanks.
You forgot Jim Buckus's 2nd wife was in one episode of Gilligan's Island called Gilligan's Mother-in-Law she play an native mother
Good Video! (You Don't have a Choice)
Live without regrets. We're all gonna get old and die. Either that, or die young. Those are the only two options.
He also knew personally the great Bruce Lee
Sorry it's jim Backus not jim Bacchus
Hey was a great actor
He played in four films with Natalie wood including rebel without a cause.
Just what endings are not sad?
I'm 34 he is he was the men
Back us, not Bock us.
what is so sad about it?
That he grew old, suffered with Parkison's Disease for years and died of pneumonia? Kind of sad.
Absolutely NOTHING sad about it
Tragic Ending?......He got ill and died. That's a part of life. That's not tragic.
His life didn't sound that bad to me.
You forgot I Married Joan.
Does anyone on this channel know how to pronounce names?.... It's BACK US !

Rude comment. Not needed nor appreciated.
