  • @szaboaz
    @szaboaz 3 года назад +15

    06:55 Superchargers need a visible indicator for showing which stalls are half-occupied.
    For example, the stall could turn colors, or have a big blinking light on top of it, to produce a clear distinction beween being 100% free (as in freedom, not as in beer ;-) ), 50% free, or taken.

    • @kaasman78
      @kaasman78 3 года назад +1

      The stalls already have a red Tesla light. So to make it even more simple...when at a v2 supercharger, make the Tesla light on both stalls blink when one stall is occupied.

    • @PhilippStadler

      There is already an indicator, if a stall is available: IF A BIG TESLA IS CHARGING BESIDE YOU :D

You could take e.g. a Golf 8 Diesel, like 2.0 TDI SCR 110 kW 7-Gang-DSG, (it should have a range about 1200 km) and see what is possbile. You would see how often do you REALY need to stop. A little comment about what you say at 30:39, the strenght of Tesla, yes it is a great feature, but Tesla is not unique with this! I know for sure there is one other brand which offers this, this brand is Mercedes-Benz. It not only displays the live status and available charging points of the co-owned charging network, Ionity in this particular case, but also the live status of other operators.
    It is possible to ask the navigation system to show (almost) ALL charging stations in the area where you are, or in the area of the destination or along the road towards the destination. I am not sure if there are other brands who offer the same service, but I have heard VW will implement this soon also.

      @@romansenger2322 On a long round trip you don't gain much energy through regen. You would go uphill as much as downhill and don't gain back all of the energy you spend to pull additional weight. Maybe it isn't the priority in engineering, but we see higher consumption in a Tesla LR than SR mostly due to the weight of dual motor and extra battery weight. So with 5 passengers and luggage on the roof (which also affects aerodynamics) you would definitely see higher consumption - even if only a little, I don't know

    I love you, Bjørn, but do you seriously think that 300 km is good range? Even though it's winter, cold, higher speed and so on, it should stil be way longer range. This is what keeps me from getting an EV. I don't want to drive 200-300 km and then charge for 20 - 60 minutes, and then the same thing over and over again. I still love your reviews, and no hate, but the range is so bad.

    • @peterhelm522
      @peterhelm522 3 года назад +5

      60 minutes charging every 300km would also be to long for me, but realistic is 24-30 minutes charging every 300km in Winter ans 350 km in Summer. That time is just fine for peeing, trash can and getting a coffee.

    • @Yggdrasil42
      @Yggdrasil42 3 года назад

      Sure, it's a small adjustment but in return you get benefits like always leaving home with a full charge and of course the awesome driving experience. For me that offsets the downsides. I drive about 25k km a year for reference.
