  • Bernina Express | Rhätische Bahn | One of the most scenic train rides in the world! | Tirano, Italy🇮🇹 - St. Moritz, Switzerland🇨🇭
It passes on Bernina Pass and it is the highest rail crossing in Europe and the third-highest railway in Switzerland reaching a height of 2,253 metres. It also ranks as the highest adhesion railway of the continent, and - with inclines of up to 7% - as one of the steepest adhesion railways in the world. The elevation difference on the section between the Bernina Pass and Tirano is 1,824 m, which makes it the open air railway with the greatest height difference.
On 7 July 2008, the Bernina Railway and the Albula Railway, which also forms part of the RhB, were recorded in the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites, under the name Rhaetian Railway in the Albula / Bernina Landscapes. The whole site is a cross-border joint Swiss-Italian heritage area.
Trains operating on the Bernina Railway include the Bernina Express where the train negotiates the 55 tunnels, 196 bridges and inclines of up to 70 per mille with ease.

¿Me interesa subir y bajar ?

Very interesting video I have a few questions I loved the following things about the video
    1. The presentation is very nice,
    2. You have shown very stunning views of the train ride which fascinates me
    3. You also have put captions in the video which makes the presentation very nice.
I also have a few questions on the video
    1. What is the total train duration from starting to end?
    2. You mentioned the second class have open doors which is beautiful to watch, can u roam around the train? I have seen you have done a loo review inside one of the cars, I assume you can walk around
    3. How long is the stop at each station? Is it a lot of time? In the third station I saw you all went outside the train to enjoy the alps
    4. Is it open seating through the train or do u have a reserved seat number to sit on?

Thank you for your thoughtful comment! I’m glad you enjoyed the video. Let me address your questions:
Train Duration: This particular train took 2 h 30 min.
Roaming Around: Yes, you can move around the train. Second-class carriages have open doors, allowing you to enjoy the fresh mountain air and capture photos during stops. You’re correct; I did explore the loo inside one of the cars, and there’s ample space to walk around.
Station Stops: The Bernina Red Train makes intermediate stops along the line; with the ticket, you can hop off at any of these stops, and then resume your journey by boarding the following train. There are a few more stops not shown in the video The duration of stops varies, but they generally provide enough time to step outside and enjoy the scenery. In the Alp Grüm station, where you saw us enjoying the spectacular view over the Valposchiavo and the Palu glacier, passengers often disembark to take in the breathtaking views.
Seating: With the regular Bernina Red Train tickets, you can freely choose any of the trains for your trip. This is possible due to these tickets being valid for an entire day. But for the Bernina Express and first-class panoramic view tickets, seat selection is mandatory.
Feel free to ask if you have any more questions!

Advance reservation is also required for the 2nd class panorama car of the BERNINA EXPRESS as well as for the BERNINA EXPRESS coach connecting Lugano with Tirano and vice versa. It is undoubtedly preferable to travel on regular trains if you intend to hop on and off at your leisure.

@@sarapeimer5859 It sounds like an exciting route to take. I'm planning to retake Bernina in the snow, and I will consider this. Thank you for sharing your experience!
