  • Best Budget ssd for gaming.
    I'm compared my ps4 pro stock hdd 1TB and kingston a400 480GB.
    You can see the BIG differences.

    The loading difference is very decent, but folly sh*t that loading time on RDR2...

    Dude, this is so insane. I knew it would be faster with a ssd, but this is amazing. I will get a 4TB SSD, so a lot of room for games😊.

    There are 2 main differences I've noticed between hdd and ssd.
    On the stock hdd, I used to click a game to start loading and I would go make a cup of coffee before I started playing while I waited for it to load.
    Now I click the game and start playing damn near right away.
    The second difference is that I have nothing left to do on my console because I've done everything I can think of because the damn loading times are so fast. Now I'm just bored and hoping for a new game to come out so I can try something new and exciting, and the majority of my time is now spent elsewhere because I know there's nothing left to do on the console for the time being. Everything is just... done...???

    I did this over a year ago, with the exact set-up in the video, and I wish I had done it sooner. Within the last week I gratefully managed to get a ps5 and being fully honest... having the load times of the SSD (+ boost mode) made the ps5 loads time a little less impressive than they should have been. Anyone on PS4 should really consider this upgrade if they are feeling a bit of fomo.
    (I try not to compare them to the SSD I have in my pc as its completely unfair and was already quicker than a ps5 before its release)

    • @dxtremecaliber
      @dxtremecaliber Год назад

      Because the games in PS5 is mostly not optimized for SSD because in Sony exclusives its much faster than PC SSDs and having a PS5 rn is not a FOMO its time to upgrade to PS5 right now because there are so many games that performs better on PS5 and good ass next gen exclusives too weather you have a SSD or HDD on your PS4 or not PS5 is really the way to go and the stock issue is now fixed so there are no problems

    An SSD *does not provide much of a benefit on other models* like the PS4 and PS4 Slim because they use SATA II not SATA III. It would be a minor difference.

    • @jsward96
      @jsward96 2 года назад +3

      Digital Foundry's tests found that SATA III made little difference, at least with an SSD. A few seconds at most. That being said, they did find that the Pro's stock HDD performed faster than the stock HDD in a base PS4.

    These load times are insane. The Kingston a400 only increased load times for fortnite on my original ps4 by 25 seconds (1:50 to 1:25). Must be cause the older internals can't use the ssd to its full potential

    I wonder why the difference is so much more massive when you swap and HDD for an SSD on PC? That said, I'm installing my PS4's SSD today, so wish me luck!

    • @amarhusejic966
      @amarhusejic966 Год назад +3

      Because PS4 has only a Sata2 port to connect to the HDD/SSD which has a maximum transfer rate of about 300 MB/s.
      And the PCs in the last decade have used Sata3 ports which have double that transfer rate of Sata2 ports.
      Thus the PS4 cannot use the full potential of the SSDs which have transfer rates in the 500-600MB/s.
      The PS4 Pro has a Sata3 port so it should be the same improvement in game loading time as on PC.

      Honestly I'm looking through these videos to see if it's worth the upgrade. However as a Kingston A400 owner, I have owned my 120gb ssd on my PC for like 3 years now and I've clocked 29TB on it and it has no issues. (Ps I know it's a lot for that short of period.. some people will need twice lt three times the years to clock that many TB but I've reinstalled windows 10/11 over a dozen times either cause of driver issues or just to test bench stuff. So it's a strong SSD and worth the money. Plus in my place it comes with 5 year warranty. I've noticed in some countries they give only 3 years but nonetheless the only drawback is that it's missing DRAM unlike the expensive SSDs. Other than that it's been a good SSD for the money, hence why I am looking to see if it's worth the upgrade on my consoles to upgrade them all, especially now when the A400 is super cheap, like $25 for the 480gb SSD. 😊

      It's an insane improvement.
