@@greekreThere are thousands and thousands of people that DO NOT have a single living relative. That's just the way it is. He has been extremely fortunate.
Most apartment complexes limit the number of days that people can have visitors. Sometimes it is as little as a week so people can't let anyone stay or they could get an eviction notice that they can't afford. So, they may want to help by letting someone sleep on their couch and use the tenant's address while looking for a job, but it can't be done.

I was hired at Mcdonalds in 2015 after I got kicked out of college for lack of funds. I had nothing but 25k of student debt and a minimum wage job at 18. I had my first car within 6 months because of that job and I'll forever be proud of that moment. Barely 9 years later I have a near six figure income and zero debt outside of my mortgage

No, people like that homeless guy are extremely rare. I volunteered with that population for a three-month county sponsored program, and out of over 800 people we approached, FOUR accepted help getting a job, clean clothes, and a free place to live. The vast majority of the homeless literally WANT to be homeless. I have NO pity for them at all after the way they treated me.

The part where I said…"can be extremely rare"…EXTREMELY RARE…you seem to have missed that part and you all have prove my example of lack for mercy. It doesn’t matter where and for whom a person works for as long it’s enough to earn a decent living. May not be much but it can be a start, a blessing and room to grow, not every single person walks on the same path. Just because it happened for one person doesn’t mean it should have be the same for you…get over with that me, me, me…what about me crying stuff, not everything have to be all about you. May God’s grace blesses you all.

My biggest question here is: do his wages cover all basic living expenses in that area? Rent, food, health insurance, car expenses.
Or is he still homeless? Does he live out his car?
As we all know this is 2024 not 1985. Most jobs gradually put you in debt. A McDonalds starting wage might not cover all his basic needs.

MAKES ME THINK OF MY OWN SITUATION. I have three college degrees and was a restaurant and logistics consultant over 20 years. I am very good at what I do and work very hard. Covid hit and now no one feels they want or need someone like me, no matter how hard I sell myself or low ball my compensation. I am stuck working 3 jobs above but close to minimum wage. I work 7 days a week, going from one job to another each day and I take a half day on Sunday. I am blessed that I have a 20+ year old decent car that is paid for and a house that is paid for but it is just me. My electric has been off since October and I am still trying to get my property tax out of delinquent status before they decide they want my house. Let me tell you, the struggle is absolutely real !! I am so thankful I have my health so I can work this hard. Things could be a lot worse.

@AdelineCowgirl that may be your situation. We don't know "all" the details of OP's financial obligations(Op may have debt, students loans, helping family, etc). They may live in New England where taxes and utilities are typically high. Moving may not be financially feasible. Maybe in a high cost state where the job in his field is. The 3 jobs may be temporary until they land something... We don't know, nor is it any of our business. There should be no judgment here...

This is why we should never judge the homeless community. I recently assisted a former police officer get off the streets, after meeting him. He suffered multiple traumatic events, and eventually left the police dept., and was diagnosed with PTSD.
That couple are the true hero’s for stopping to help him. This guy is probably more educated than everyone at the McDonald’s. I’m sure the manager was also extended an opportunity after coming into America.
God bless this couple, and I pray this man is able to work within the field of his dreams. God bless him, he’s so humble.🌹

Which McDonalds is this in Lewisville TX? I want to personally thank that Mgr. for being such a kind person. I believe as many people as possible should visit there and show support and love for these folks.
