  • This lawn mower belongs to my brother-in-law. He said that he could not get it started. But after about 5 pulls we got it running but you could smell that it had bad gas in it. It would not idle after it warmed up. So lets get the carb apart and clean it up. Now its running much better now.

Great video. Others have used temporary studs to keep everything together. Makes reassembly much easier

The mix screw has a cap , limiter cap can be removed by warming it with lighter or pencil torch and removing it. Often set slightly lean. Top one is idle screw

how would the governor spring go flying if you let it go? it is wrapped around the governor rod so if you let it go it would just go a couple inches on the governor rod and stop but can't fly anywhere

So if that happens witch hole does it go in? Most of the have at least 2 holes. I would rather take it slow and not let the spring come off.

Next time stick a small needle metal thru the hole while unscrewing the jet out.

No I don't. I usually make them with gasket paper and a punch set that I have.

Taking that plate off was unnecessary for me.
Rubber fuel limes should always be twisted a little bit to break the seal.
Banging on the carb. to remove a jet?? All you have to do is use a can of compressed air and blow through the gas inlet for removal of the jet.

@@TheGAutomotiveAndMore Honda actually has the headless studs available part # 90013-ZG9-T00 for @$5. ea. Screw them in first not tight, slide gaskets and carb over in order, push on the air cover as you remove ONE side and insert the original hex head stud. Then do other side. Done in 2 minutes.
