Wow,, crazy story!! Sorry but RUclips doesn't give us notifications consistently! I want to chat about this on my Saturday live show,, this week, its around 8:30 pm est That is a lube issue, did anyone check the oil at any point? Usually we change the oil after the 1st season of use.
Also recently replaced the pull starter. It was time. The old rope had frays in it and stopped pulling. Yes I probably paid a few bucks more for an OEM part off Amazon. Was worth it to me. Easy Fix. I only buy OEM parts and use Honda Oil.
Good name for those Honda fuel clips Arch right on they are a real pain. Looks like grass does not stick to the composite plastic decks or did you clean and power wash the underside? Nice to see someone using prefilters that is the way to service any mower air filtration system. Not only will it increase the life of the paper filter it will keep more fine debris entering the carb to cause fuel related issue. Well done Arch me man!
Ya absolutely right,,, I need to put those pre-filters on my list.. I only use those on the really nice machines. This is the Nexite deck,,, seems to be a better plastic AND I sprayed it a few years back with automotive enamel clear. I do that for many machines on the higher end. This machine does get care! Once every few years a full clean and lube then I do what I shoed, often with just a hose. I don't gotta tell you guys! You know,, a little luv goes a long way! I try to inspire the rest to get out there and enjoy these machines, they can offer great life and service.

Most of the black tanks that I see are on Honda engines on other branded machines so not as plentiful. Also, maybe spraying black on the wheels?

Hey Arch, I got one of these and I just can'tt get the pinion gear to go up and turn the flywheel. I have cleaned it, lubed it, the battery has a full charge, the starter spins great, just wont engage the flywheel. I have also tried with a jump pack and still all it does is spin. What am I missing here?
yup! 1st, those starters suck! 2nd, get the bendix of the starter lubricated with penetrant then some oil. If the jump pack can make it go up after that then it may be ok, if not its shot 3rd, These just don't work well, usually if the bendix is working then its the battery! Is that something to do with just Honda's hrx mowers because I've never had a mower freeze up to where you can't pull it backwards even after 7-8 years. It's got be concerned about buying one.
Has to do with machines needing service as I outline in the video. If you have had a machine running well for 7 years,, service it, no matter what it is! Depending on where one lives, soil, sand, clay, dust, moisture, they play a roll and in some cases mechanisms like power transfer/transmissions get stuck. On my property only one area is really dusty and sandy, the entire machine gets covered in it within minutes! Now imagines years of that with no maintenance!
@@TheNovaJohn I probably should be doing more maintenance then I do. My transmission has gone out on last 2 mowers maybe maintenance would have kept them going longer. I know if just the cost of a transmission for the Husqvarna mower that just went out is about $115 but for to have service guy install it I imagine it would be another $100 plus it needed a new cable that runs from the transmission to the control handles. So it seems better to just put that $250-300 into a new mower. The Husqvarna has a Honda engine that's ran flawless for all these years so that's why I definitely I want another Honda engine.
