I can confirm this works IF you have the hair and it just doesn't properly grow on its own (just as you said). I'm 26 almost 27 and I have quite the big patch right on my chin, as well as smaller ones at the corners of my lips (where the mustache connects to the rest of the beard) and I've been using a derma roller for roughly a year now. The first few months I was slacking off a bit and only used it once in a while (like 2-3 times a month), but I noticed that suddenly some of the small white hair on these patches started to become black and thicker. After that I started using it way more regularly (~2 times a week) and my mustache now properly connects to the rest of the beard (still a little sparse but it does) and even the huge patch on my chin is now (again sparsly) covered by hair. The thing is, I've always knew that I had hair in these areas and the only problem was that they, for what ever reason, didn't want to become thicker and black. Also, my dad and my grandfathers all have bushy and full beards, so it is unlikely that it's a genetic problem. In my case it might just be a combination of malnutrition and being a late bloomer in terms of beard growth, but the derma roller definitely accelerates the process for which my body takes years.

My problem with these kinds of treatments is that the before/after pictures people show, usually are just the result of not shaving and growing it out. Their hair is usually noticeably longer in the "after." If the products work, they are not being advertised correctly.

Exactly. I'm using a 1.5 derma roller with minoxidil right now, and I have noticed SOME improvements after the 3rd week, but a true test would have been documenting my natural growth in 3 weeks before using any treatments, clean shave, and document 3 weeks of growth with the treatments.

The harsh reality is that everyone's beard has a different growth pattern and not all of us are meant to have a full beard without patches. My cheeks grow in a little sparse; noticeably enough to me that I try not to grow a long enough beard to really accentuate that weakness. That said, my soul patch area is super strong, which is where MOST guys struggle. There's not magic cure, outside of maybe a follicle transplant.

  • @LucefieD

Microneedling alone will do little for hair growth by itself. However in conjunction with minoxidil it will give you great results. I don’t understand why there’s such a stigma to use it. Minoxidil is truly the key for hair growth and finasteride is the key to prevent dhl/androgen sensitivity to the hair follicles I.e keeping existing hair. I guarantee you if you used minoxidil for 6 months and tapered off, you would see results. Pls Greg check out more plates more dates RUclips channel for more info

Yes, that's actually the main idea with microneedling. It makes your skin look younger and healthier by causing your body to make more collagen and elastin. A lot of beauty parlors use this procedure to slow down skin aging in women (and men ofc, it's just more common with women). When it comes to hair growth, that's a secondary use case and from what I've heard it hasn't been proven to work 100%. Still gonna try it tho 😂

The question I have to the doctors that recommend to do once a week, have they experience to themselves to know for sure that doing once a week is the best? I can say that 99% of most doctors give their recommendation to the patient not by their own experience but by the FDA or a clinical trial that have not done a thorough research themselves. Each individual is very different, their skin is different. There are reports now show on youtube that minoxidil full grown hair will fall off if that person stop using the minoxidil, but a lot of users have reported that it is not true. with Microneedling, I had users who reportedly said that he is using twice a week and he sees awsome result. So I watch, I hear, and I like a scientist test it out 1st before I can say that using microneeling once a week is a must. Doctors are wrong most of the time,
