  • Today we are out on a Northern Wisconsin lake and we are walleye fishing with swimbaits. This is one of my absolute favorite ways to catch walleyes all season long. Much of walleye country is experiencing a big warm up and these fish are on the chew. This bite is just getting started and it is going to be excellent for the next month or so. In this video I talk about how to position on fish once you find them. I also talk about how I like to rig up and fish a Swimbait. Thanks for watching and good luck with your spring walleye fishing!

    Great video like always Tom. I still can't believe your videos aren't getting 100k plus views. Some of the most informative videos out there. If you keep putting out these great videos "They will come". Looking forward to your new videos. I like how you include the sonar and what your looking for at that time, the technique your using, and how to position yourself to be most effective.

    I'm pretty sure it's pronounced "py-cee-fun" It's a combination of the words "pisces" - who's zodiac sign is a fish - and "fun". But I could be wrong.

    You ever do any fishing on reservoirs? If so, think you could do a video differentiating them from a lake?
    I love the content, but it's a little hard to apply since the reservoirs local to me are so different. Lots of rocky bluffs and points, but no weeds. I can catch walleyes there regularly but lack the understanding of their patterns to do it reliably.

    There's a reason the walleye are more stupid in the green bay.. it's because you have educated all the walleye in the other lakes in northern wisconsin. Thank you for the videos!

    Do you have a lot of success after a rainfall? Caught a walleye from shore in a clear deep water lake, but the runoff from the rain just completely muddied up the water the next day, any tips to catch muddy water walleyes?

    Tom, do you ever use a monofilament hybrid type of line when snap jigging? It sinks faster than braid.

    • @xCruZChaos
      @xCruZChaos 4 года назад +2

      I tried this because I thought it would be different and it didn’t seem to work. The mono stretches too much, so you don’t really get as much of a sharp snap with the bait. Braid just seems to always work the best for snap jigging. At least from what I’ve felt.

    I'm definitely a believer of these soft plastics! In fact I need to learn how to rig a live minnow so I don't lose them when I'm not using the plastics! Lol

    One thing I would love to see is how to connect your trolling motor to your Garmin unit so it allows you to use spot lock and all the GPS driven trolling motor stuff!

    Loving the snap jigging Tom, thanks to your videos. I wonder how clear your lakes are though....I'm fishing very clear water, with lots of deep water available (average depth 70, deepest 130). I cannot buy a bite from a walleye until absolute sundown. Should I be trying deeper during the day? Slower? I fish this type of structure and get bass like crazy right now.

    Just cant seem to find walleye at the lake Ive been working. Its not a big Lake and wonder if its getting over fished for the walleye, as they are targeted most. They put yellow bass in the lake, and you can catch them things nearly every cast. I wonder if they are taking over. Its a smaller lake deepest about 28'. Water been about 60 degrees, and the only fish Im marking that look like walleye are deep in the 20' range. Not sure if they are walleye, but cant get the bite.
