Macon's Rose Hill Cemetery has been vandalized once more. The Bibb County Sheriff's Office is offering a $1,000 reward for anyone with information about the incident
I was a teenager in Macon in the 60's and 70's and I went to Rose Hill a few times with my friends and neighbors - mostly so the other guys could frighten the girls with various stories, but we NEVER desecrated or vandalized any sites. It was thought to be "evil" and possibly dangerous to even walk over someone's grave. Later on, I went to funerals there for some of my parents' friends. I hate to hear stories like this. It is a shame that some young people today have so little respect for others, but especially for places like Rose Hill with so much history attached.
