Bring back the 80's when musicians actually HAD talent! and had the looks to go with it...Robyn Zander still makes my heart throb (after all these years).
Ahhh, the summer of 1990. Onslow Beach, Topsail Beach, Myrtle Beach, and the Outer Banks. One of them every weekend. Beer on the beach, fine young things prancing on the sand, and this song in heavy rotation on the radio along with lots of other good rock and roll. Found out the meaning of "shagging" in the Carolinas (its dancing, not the other). Then the damn Gulf War screwed it all up the first week of August. Where has time gone?
great band with great tunes.their music is part of my life.times were fun back then.the partying and drinking were the best back then.thanks for sharing..cheers..ken
One of the best songs off of one of their weakest albums! Probably, it's the really super slick circa 1990 hit making production that unfortunately mires the album permanently in that timeframe. Even at their weakest, though, they still had some great songs on those records. I remember at the time in 1990, my girlfriend had dumped me in 6th grade during the summer holidays. Didn't really know what love was, but thought I did, at the time.....this song, ironically, had such a happily sad, optimistic tone for me at the time. Robin and the band knew that there was a kid out there that thought that he was falling in love.
damn!!! I heard this song many years ago and it was stuck in my head forever but I couldn't figure out what it was. I even made a reddit thread trying to search for it and now I finally found it thanks to a reddit user!
I've just watched their 1979 "Dream Police" VideoClip, Now fast forward 10 years later...89 / 1990 ...They look the same give or take a few kilo's and lines :)
@speedynkc : I noticed that, too. I heard somewhere that he really didn't like this song and when they play it, he's in a "Dear Lord, THIS one?" kind of mode. This is actually my favorite song of theirs. "I Can't Take It" is a close second...
Oww I love this song! ^.^ / "Just standin' in line... Waitin' for you! And I know it can't be denied can't stop fallin' into love! What's my heart been dreamin' up? Who's that falling' into love? Hey rock 'n rollers what's a happenin' with you?" ♫ ;P
@LesSmith45 You are correct sir. The song writing credits Rick, Robin, Tom, and L. Nesbit. I did read somewhere years ago that the song was offered to Rod Stewart. I don't care for the song. The modulation after the "guitar solo" is especially weak. They seemed to be trying too hard to turn out a "hit". Make no mistake, I am as big of a fan of Trick as anyone.
I used to dream about listening to this song with my pen pal back when it came out. Now she’s my wife lying next to me and our kids are in the other room.
Yeah Yeah Hey, little ladies There's some cool young dude Just standin' in line And waitin' for you There's a girl in the corner With a jacked up dress She's got legs for miles but But her face looks a mess There's always something for everyone But love can be suicide Oh yeah yeah yeah It's just what you've been waiting for And I know it can't be denied, yeah Can't stop fallin' into love What's my heart been dreamin' up Who's that fallin' into love Is it you I'm thinkin' of Hey rock 'n' rollers What's happenin' with you You've got the itch Well I've got it too It's hard to be a winner every time But I know you can take it You can make it all right It's time that you just can't hide But I can't control myself Oh no no no I know what you've been waitin' for 'Cause love can't be denied, yeah Can't stop fallin' into love What's my heart been dreamin' up Who's that fallin' into love Is it you I'm thinkin' of There's always somethin' for everyone And I know what you mean in my eyes Oh, yeah yeah yeah I just can't control myself And I fall for it every time, oh yeah Can't stop fallin' into love, yeah What's my heart been dreamin' up No matter what I think or do or say Hey, I keep fallin' into love I can't stop fallin' into love, yeah What's my heart been dreamin' up Who's that falling' into love Is it you, girl, I'm thinkin' of I can't stop fallin' into love What's my heart been dreamin' up No matter what I think or do or say Hey, I keep fallin' into love I can't stop fallin' into love Every [Incomprehensible] I see gets the best of me Who's that falling' into love
@vinorama58 Thanks for the response. I am a huge fan. Check out the new videos posted here at the Emerald Queen in Tacoma on 3/28/10. I was at that concert a couple of months ago. I cannot believe the played a couple of my fav old Cheap Trick tunes. Worth looking up high quality video and audio.
@KCVROCKS2008 Everything produced from about 1986 to 1991 was way overproduced. New recording boards came out (32 and 48 track if I remember correctly), and the engineers went nuts layering, sampling, and overdubbing everything, from Van Halen to Cheap Trick to Robert Plant to Aerosmith. It was the sound of the time due to the new toys. I agree, though, CT is meant to be heard through 8-16 tracks on the board, crank the volume to 11 and let er rip.
Todd Huber Pretty sure Rod was the one who turned it down--I know the band doesn't think too highly of it and didn't really want to do it. Bun E.'s expression in this video says it all.
lurch321 You understand that the Cheap Trick members wrote the song? Stevie Nicks has asked Tom Petty to write her a song, and Tom did. But, in the end, Tom was like, never mind, I like the song for myself!! (It's happened twice that I know of)
This is not Cheap Trick. The song was originally offered to Rod Stewart which he turned downed. You know they look back at this period and say to themselves "WTF were we thinking?"
The most talented band ever!!!!
Need more music like this! Not the junk that's playing today!
hermosa cancion, para mi la mejor de cheap trick, lastima que no pego en la radio como otras, a mi me trae lindos recuerdos de 1989
10 años después dándote la razón jajaa

MAGNIFICENT BAND!!!!
You'll know you've arrived at being a bass player when you are able to nail that bass line! 12 string bass no less. Tom P, you ROCK!
This song and “Bring Over Some of Your Old Motown Records” by Rod Stewart are the most 1990 things that ever happened.
People younger than me(23) need to appreciate Cheap Trick
And people your exact age need to quit doing those cliched, “I’m young but like old music” comments. Nobody cares.
Jesse Cole ...At least he likes ACTUAL "MUSIC"!!!

The bass on this tune is spine shivering!!
Brings back memories from that summer of 1990

He kills me with cuteness.
Cheaptrick ,yep Always loved that band , and they sound just as good live as well .
My favorite cheap trick tune ♥️♥️♥️
'Busted' is a very underrated album from Cheap Trick.

one of my favs as a kid...great song
awesome pop song about love from Cheap Trick, WoW imagine if this type of songwriting will ever make it back onto MTV?
A straight up simplicity to this song makes it so amazing.....this album is great but this song: wow!
I agree 100%!
Awesome Song! Awesome Video!
damn!!! I heard this song many years ago and it was stuck in my head forever but I couldn't figure out what it was. I even made a reddit thread trying to search for it and now I finally found it thanks to a reddit user!

Purple was my grandmother;s favourite colour too! lol :-)
I don't know much about Cheap Trick at all, but came across this song. Is this the same guy who sings 'I Want You To want Me?" He sounds so different!

Purple was the Power Color in the 90s :)))

Awesome song
Yeah
Yeah
Hey, little ladies
There's some cool young dude
Just standin' in line
And waitin' for you
There's a girl in the corner
With a jacked up dress
She's got legs for miles but
But her face looks a mess
There's always something for everyone
But love can be suicide
Oh yeah yeah yeah
It's just what you've been waiting for
And I know it can't be denied, yeah
Can't stop fallin' into love
What's my heart been dreamin' up
Who's that fallin' into love
Is it you I'm thinkin' of
Hey rock 'n' rollers
What's happenin' with you
You've got the itch
Well I've got it too
It's hard to be a winner every time
But I know you can take it
You can make it all right
It's time that you just can't hide
But I can't control myself
Oh no no no
I know what you've been waitin' for
'Cause love can't be denied, yeah
Can't stop fallin' into love
What's my heart been dreamin' up
Who's that fallin' into love
Is it you I'm thinkin' of
There's always somethin' for everyone
And I know what you mean in my eyes
Oh, yeah yeah yeah
I just can't control myself
And I fall for it every time, oh yeah
Can't stop fallin' into love, yeah
What's my heart been dreamin' up
No matter what I think or do or say
Hey, I keep fallin' into love
I can't stop fallin' into love, yeah
What's my heart been dreamin' up
Who's that falling' into love
Is it you, girl, I'm thinkin' of
I can't stop fallin' into love
What's my heart been dreamin' up
No matter what I think or do or say
Hey, I keep fallin' into love
I can't stop fallin' into love
Every [Incomprehensible] I see gets the best of me
Who's that falling' into love

Haha, Bun E. had a mullet. This song does veer dangerously close to Rod Stewart territory.
Classic!!!
@kypoppa
yeah, HELL YEAH! I AGREE BROTHA!
the best
@vinorama58 What do you mean this is not cheap trick? They wrote this song I have seen them seven times and they played this a few times.

Not a Cheap Trick fan but great song.
The best tune on Busted?
Bun E goin' lefty
Check out the drummer. He looks about as thrilled to be there as a long-tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs.
ANd a Champgne suit!!
@thebackwardswordfind it came out in 1990
I noticed Bun E Carlos is playing left-handed traditional grip in this video.
He likes to mix up his style sometimes.
bune carlos roteed lefty, right
@chavez9mm Yes it's an allusion to the old Faces song
@gunarsgirl AMEN!!! :)
This was too good for Rod Stewart; kudos if you get that...
Sounds Rod Stewart-ish in this song.
lurch321 I heard the opposite--Rod wanted it but CT said NO
Todd Huber Are you sure? Cheap Trick's other songs have been covered by other singers. Hmmm...??
Todd Huber Never mind. I think I misunderstood.
Todd Huber Pretty sure Rod was the one who turned it down--I know the band doesn't think too highly of it and didn't really want to do it. Bun E.'s expression in this video says it all.

I like the written dialogue in Swedish: "Have you ever..." -"What the?"
I can so hear Rod Stewart singing this.
Probably the first and last time Nielsen ever wore a suit coat.
is that ron jeremy on drums lol
Is that Ron Jeremy on the drums?
☺😊😌😉😃😄😁
This sounds like Omar singing this!
@darylshreve :)

Fucken Awesome song. Oh yeah.
