Always value your reviews Tom, but I must leap to Potato Man's defence! Your damnation of it as a 5 player game is wrong - as in rules wrong. It is not the 5th card that can repeat a colour (which I agree would give waaaaay too much power to the person in 5th position), it is that ONE colour will be played twice. The example in the rulebook shows a trick that goes:
    1) Yellow 8
    2) Blue 8
    3) Red 17
    4) Yellow 2
    5) Green 4
This makes a 5 player game a very interesting proposition - and not the horrible failure you suggest!
I bought this game at a convention hearing it mentioned in your news, more than 6 months ago, so thank you for introducing me to it :)

Lovely review, but I have to add my voice in defence of the five player game!

Really like this tiny game. picked it up right when I saw Dan's review. Though I like your review style Tom a bit more, so thanks for the review. I still wanna show Love Dan King too btw.

You have the five player rules completely wrong Tom, so no wonder you hated it with five! As a result, this review is rather unfair. In a five player game ANY player can play a second card of one colour, not just the fifth person to play. So it is not completely open for the fifth player to win every trick as you suggest. I wouldn't normally bother to comment at a minor mistake in the rules, but here you are VERY vocal about hating it with five players and you really have no cause to be. It plays well with five (albeit the strategies are somewhat different to the 3-4 player game).

Going to echo what others have said. If you really misplayed it that badly with 5 players you should try it again -- and put some annotations on the video that mentions you messed it up and to disregard what you said.

But you didn't even answer the most important question! What's your favorite way to cook potatoes?

I still think that the potato man looks like Ryan Metzler.
