If the carpenter uses electric tools, it can be done at a fraction of the time. But by making it all by hands… it’s like creating unique art works. Would I be willing to pay more for is craftsmanship? Definitely! Unlike identical machined utensils, each one would have different ‘fingerprint’…..So ‘Japanese’. Then there’s hand pallet fork lift, laser cutting, robot welding….all about precisions…..Again, also, so ‘Japanese’! I remembered watching Begin Japanology about mini factory. Some part of JAXA’s Japanese rockets that went into space were made by a little metal shop with very few employees rather than a giant manufacturer!
I would have liked names and other metadata, e.g. who the man is making the wooden ladle, when and where it was recorded, where to watch more of his work
если говорить про изготовление ковша то это работа даже не подмастерья а ученика начального уровня в семенове за такой ковшик гнали бы всем селом за околицу топорная работа в прямом смысле этого слова толщина стенки не выдержана по осям полный кавардак. такими убогими ковшами не воду набирать а печи топить не того автор резчика выбрал это убожество а не деревянных дел мастер. при всем уважение к его преклонным годам. сьездите в семенов в музей хохломской росписи там есть отдельная экспозиция так называемого белья это готовые изделия еще не покрытые росписью и посмотрите как должна выглядеть утварь из дерева.
Я и говорю, что это показывают музей, и это ни какой там крутой мастер, а простой дед, что когда-то в молодости занимался деревом, а сейчас его попросили поработать для фильма.

Подобные профессии уходят в прошлое, а потому бесценный опыт каждого такого специалиста важен уже как народное достояние. Будет безумно жаль, если у такого мастера не окажется продолжателей его древнейшего исскуcтва. Речь шла о мастере по работе с деревом*
