- when it came across my mind that it's possible to put custom music for cybergrind, my instinct tells me to put touhou music in it.

You know, I've played a lot of ultrakill, and I find myself getting overwhelmed with the number of options at any given moment. Drilling down to just using 3-4 guns might improve my ability significantly.

How to make ultrakill touhou
1. Every enemy is either a drone, maurice or mindflayer
2. Make them radiant

Battlefield of the Flower Threshold just has that chaotic urgency to it with the aggressive guitar and fast paced melody. Felt the rush in that last Reimu scenario in Touhou ULiL (14.5).
The first stage with this unholy howling in the background, and right off the bat, Flower Threshold starts playing as Reimu hurries to put an end to the potential disaster. Not to mention she gets held up twice, the same chaotic intro playing in the next two stages, hurrying you up.
Now that I hear these two songs again, I notice they have that descending chord progression that evoke a sense of something falling into disorder. That and they're both penultimate boss tracks leading up to the last boss.

V1 stole Kasen's arm.
Kino choices of Touhou OSTs. Your ears are obviously deaf from the clanks of guns, but the moment inbetween combat where you travel to better positions, you can hear the up and downs and different tunes of Kasen's theme. And of course, Yukari's theme is just a masterpiece of in-and-out crescendo, which is what basically Ultrakill gameplay is.
I like how sometimes the bass lines up with the music.
I mean Ultrakill *is* a bullet hell game
Man, I imagine Minos Prime with breakcore remix of Byakuren's theme. Their stories and abilities are suspeciously similliar.

im glad i wasnt the only person who thought of doing this, thank you devs for making custom music possible
I like to use House set remixes by Kuroneko lounge for my cybergrind music, works so well

I swear, you could put Touhou music over just about anything and it just works somehow (barring a few exceptions).
I'm not sure if Maurice takes damage from projectile boost but I get why you do that a lot it's just so addictive lol

Everyone talking about weapon switching and projectile boosting and frame parrying and other nonsense and I'm just over here channeling my inner Revolver Ocelot using only the spinny red revolver because it's fun and cool.
A few tips for using the red revolver. Use it to explode the first projectile of the Maurice barrage though best results are when it fires straight at you. The explosion will send all the other projectiles into the Maurice and insta kill it or get close. This can be done with any explosion or shockwave and only on standard and violent difficulty the latter being easier to one shot it. Can also be useful to do this with Mystery knight Druid and the Leviathan. Also, if you want to really get some damage with the red revolver and your near parallel flat walls or flat ceiling and floor, angle your shot to be straight into one surface through an enemy with the other surface directly behind you and you can completely kill some more tanky enemies or just do tons of damage from the beam bouncing nearly straight back and forth through enemies. Only down side is it makes the weapon dull fast.

A thematic/teleological distinction of Touhou to Ultrakill is that the artistic beauty of the former is fully sincere, serene (even when exciting), and liminal, whilst Ultrakill feels gimmicky and cynically self-aware. I know, very different game genres, but FPS can have SOVL too as any TF2 or "Boomer shooter" fan knows. So overall, fun video, but a bit unfitting.
Put another way: Touhou is Old Web, or perhaps 4chan (in a very certain sense). Ultrakill is peak Reddit-Twitter energy (Gianni Matragano aside).
