- Опубликовано: 25 апр 2024
- Darrell Brooks, the man accused in the Waukesha Christmas Parade attack, was back in court for the fifth day in a row.
Brooks faced 76 charges, including 6 first-degree intentional homicide charges, which each carried a mandatory life sentence. He was eventually sentenced to life in prison without the chance for parole.
On this Friday, Brooks was removed from the courtroom and placed in a separate courtroom. There, it appears Brooks broke down into tears and Judge Dorow called for a lunch break.

Judge Dorow is an example of what class looks like. Her sentencing this demon was the highlight of his trial.
She should have said “now that’s da business” and slam the gavel
(Look up his dumbass song and you’ll get the reference lol)
She stated after sentencing db. “WE ARE NOW OFF THE RECORD”.
" IM NOT INTERRUPTING, AM I?". IF I HEAR THAT ONE MORE TIME IM GONNA SCREAM! I CANNOT STAND THIS ROTTEN CON MAN!
That's part of the Narcissist's tool bag..."superficial charm." Just like when he had Erika Patterson on the stand, before he berated her and victimized her again, he said "Happy Birthday." Makes me sick
lol you notice the Only time he asks that, is right after the judge asks for him to speak.
Yes, I understand. If he wants something from the court, he is so polite and self- effacing. When he is not happy, then you see the monster. You see.the man who mowed down innocent human beings.
I wish this trial had a psychologist testify like in the Depp Heard one. his head would have exploded as they testified to his personality disorder
Right …it’s like he was saying “I don’t realize all the other times that I’m interrupting “ :/ so I have to ask now .
He won’t even stand when the jurors enter and exit as a sight of respect. He is horrible man !
He is a Criminal. That is how they act!!
Yup. Because he HAS to be contrary on every single point. He cannot ever comply, even on simple things like asking him to confirm something he just said.
He’s too stupid to realise that the jury have to LIKE YOU if you want them to even see your side
attempting to show that he is in control.
I was anticipating this comment as I was about to comment the very same thing! Omg how awful this “boy” is!
He doesnt forget faces but forgets the faces of the 6 people he murdered and the 60 people he mowed down.
I think the faces of the 6 people he killed should be painted inside his cell as a mural and he is not allowed to cover them up or destroy them. He should have a personal food tray with the mural on it, so as he eats the faces are revealed. When he's naughty and requires solitary confinement, there should be a special cell with the mural painted all over, including the floor and ceiling. A photo of his head, with his mouth open should be emblazoned inside the toilet bowl. He would be forced to think about them every day, as a tasting menue of what awaits him when he is no longer able to serve the remainder of his sentences.
I think it would be fair to say that it would be "fair" treatment.
He didn’t remember their faces because the cowardly scumbag mowed them down from the back. They never had the chance to see him coming! RIP Darrell Brooks because your turn is coming up.
68 people he mowed down…
Yes, he NEVER states how sorry he is for what he did. He never takes responsibility for his heinous action.
Well said
The fact that he thinks he’s the victim in all this further magnifies his narcissistic personality.
He's what's known as a "Vulnerable Narcissist".
That’s true. All of this is attention seeking behavior and last chance to exert any control. He is about the biggest jack arse malignant narcissistic puck I have ever seen.
What amazed me the most is how this guy was attacking his ex-girlfriend in the stand. During his questioning, he threatened to get her kicked from the women’s shelter for drinking. She was after all his first victim and was in the woman’s shelter because of his abuse of her. He shouldn’t be able to depose his victims as it is inhuman to the victims.
@@monkeywrench1951 That’s what is so upsetting. He just wants control of Erika. He doesn’t have any more “questions”. He simply wants her to suffer.
He can see that this is clearly the last time he will ever see her and the one thing a narcissist cherish’s the most is absolute control of which he has none!!! ❤❤❤
I think he cried because he is feeling how little power he now has. He had no control over Erika, the detective, the judge, the deputies etc. He's completely powerless and he can't bare it. Watching him cry was so satisfying.
Make him cry again....
Yes, I so agree. Satisfying and laughable.
He doesn’t believe juror 41. He’s such an honest person… like he has the right to call anyone a liar.
Anything for delay of the trial.
He was putting on a spew episode series.
My exact thoughts.!!!
Where was this commentary at?
Doesn’t stand when jury enters but wants them to be informed “they have the power” to nullify. I can’t stomach this flea.
Yeah that is truly bizarre and disturbing. Darrell doesn't even make a clear argument for why the jury should nullify. It's a definitive example that a person with an exceptionally low IQ can also be just as evil. I tended to believe that if someone has an IQ substantially below what is considered average it diminishes their responsibility, but this case has shown me conclusively that it's not as simple as that.
Best description yet! FLEA!!!

I am beyond sick of these clowns playing their own lawyers, being able to question their victims (like they haven't been traumatized enough), and making a mockery of the judicial system.
I understand and agree that it's annoying and frustrating to the point of being atrocious at times. It even further victimizes the victims.
Unfortunately for victims, it is necessary to ensure Due Process. It's difficult for anyone to know someone has hurt you, someone you care about, and/or others and still has the ability to blatantly continue his assault with the permission of the law.
It's a terrible position to be in. However, I remind myself that the end game is more important than the current moment we are living in. I kind of think of it in an analogy in the strategy of a sport. For instance, if one player is fouled, no matter what sort of violation has occurred, one must restrain himself from the emotional instict to retaliate. To obtain the desired outcome and reach the goal, it's best to allow the foul and see it as a gifted (by the offender) shortcut to the finish line. Winning a team sport is just as much a mental strategy as it is a show of physicality. Also, we understand the concept of losing a battle, but winning the war.
In the situation of allowing defendants to make asses of the court...It may momentarily feel as if it's an embarrassment to our justice department. However, this process has the ultimate goals of maintaining and obtaining equal justice. The American Justice System will reflect those painstakingly efforts taken and be viewed as just.
You are so right. It makes me sick of these ignorant ass people having no knowledge of how to defend themselves and sounding so ridiculous
@@sharonirving8513 The lawyer who represents himself has a fool for a client.

@Jackie Wilson, You and me both I think there should be some exceptions, but those who have murdered in cold blood should never be aloud to represent themselves.
The way he tried to go after Erika was absolutely disgusting. I truly believe he was trying to get her kicked out of the shelter, which in itself was selfish and hateful. It was obvious what he was trying to do. I think the way the Judge and the prosecution stood solid and protected her to the fullest. They definitely did their homework and shut down all his attempts to discredit her. It was a brilliant strategy to stay one step ahead of this heartless manipulative coward. They were focused, thorough, and one of the best examples of excellent professionalism I have ever seen.
This is exactly what our constitution and legal system is intended for.
This guy has to be the biggest narcissist I've ever seen!! He shows ZERO remorse for his actions
Typical ABUSER mentality. Gaslighting, blaming, twisting focus. If justice were not blind he wouldn't even have his day in court except to prove he is without actual remorse.
Ppl need to stop labeling him a narcissist. This is much worse. He prob was just a narcissist in his younger years but now he's a full on sociopathic evil thing

His shenanigans about the juror was his attempt to get a mistral. He’s incarcerated and yet didn’t have time to do review the discovery?!!! His entire line of question to his ex girlfriend was irrelevant and borderline emotional abuse. His entire defense strategy is a joke. He just wants to traumatize his victims even more. One of the few cases where both the defendant and the lawyer got life
His hands are so creepy
His long nails are creepy.
Crazy how he gets hung up on the Det saying in the report that the victim wasn’t completely forthright & he thinks the word means she was lying.
The Det is great for giving him one word answers unless he specifically asks for more details. He knows what Brooks is doing so he isn’t buying into his crap.
He isn’t intimidated like some witnesses or his victim.
There are a lot of words brooks doesn't know the meaning of. Or how to pronounce. I think he once said that he (himself) wasn't the sharpest knife in the drawer, he was correct on that one.
Brooks would be a contender for being categorized as a sesquipedalian with a touch of an anomic or amnesia aphasia diagnosis. Sesquipedalian describes someone who uses verbiage, words and phrases without knowing their meaning or use in context. Think of Michael Erik Dyson speaking, yet not knowing what 80% to 90% of the 10 and 20 dollar words he uses mean, as an example.
The psycological diagnosis of anomic or amnesia aphasia, refers to individuals who misuse words or have difficulty in remembering descriptive and technical word context in describing people, places, things and events. It is believed to be most often caused by a stroke, brain tumors and TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury).
In regard to D. Brooks, I would select "E." All of the Above...
I know, he has no clue what he is doing! I hate, for example when he was questioning his ex, Erika the second time and has the baby pictures….. his nose is so high in the air….
Dude, please. You beat her for years and the only place you should be looking is at the floor! He doesn’t deserve to look at or question any victims!! Ugh, I couldn’t stand it when he questioned the victims. They sure had a lot of self control! Sorry for my rant.

It felt like he was trying to make his ex have an outburst on the stand just so he could point out that SHE was at fault..so glad she stayed strong 💪 you go girl! Praying for all victims and their families and everyone who witnessed such an evil act!
It seemed to me that he was trying to get her to say that she was with a different man while she was in the red vehicle. It would put doubt in the jury's mind that it was him and no one else.
I believe he's was fishing to find out if she had been w/ another man & trying to discredit her statements & testimony by continually bringing up her drinking & shelter did not allow.
I lived in a room & , board transitional home... You could leave the promises he had to be back before 10:00 p.m. and you also could not have drugs or alcohol in the home. Don’t blame his mother for this shit. The audacity. Grown adults make their own decisions regardless of the way they were raised. It happens everyday.
Darrell Brooks CLEARLY does not understand the definition of ‘Hear Say’! Also, the whole time he was cross examining Erika Patterson, you could see it in his eyes that he knew this was the very last time he was going to see her. When the Judge ended his ability to cross examine her, he was completely deflated! 👍
Like the way he thought his ex when described by the policeman as not forthcoming could not understand this does not mean she was lying He’s hopelessly inadequate to defend himself I believe it’s too damaging for the victims of his crime for him to represent himself it’s re victimisation shouldn’t happen
@@judyclarke423 I think that's why they chose the witnesses they did. The children and those with the most grief and trauma won't be asked to testify. There is enough evidence without.
Oh,she had a moment of irritation with him..but she caught herself. He was trying to prove that he was so upset with her he was incapable of realizing what he had done.
I'm pretty sure "Hear-Say" means testifying about what you heard someone else say about another fact or someone else's statements, basically a "gossip chain".
In contrast to reporting what a person told you directly about something they know, during an interview.
It may be more complicated. I'll check my own quiz.
EDIT: actual definition
information received from other people that one cannot adequately substantiate; rumor.
LAW
the _report of another person's words by a witness_ , which is usually disallowed as evidence in a court of law.
"everything they had told him would have been ruled out as hearsay"
Detective testifying what Erica told him _about herself_ , in a police interview, her injuries or anything that Brooks did to her, that's *not* hearsay.
Detective testifying that Erica told him that she heard Brooks or someone else state a fact, that would be inadmissible hearsay.
I got this now:
Brooks grilling the detective, an expert witness, on whether Ms Patterson was lying, or less than fully forthright, on earlier interviews, his grilling opened up the door for the State to ask the detective directly why Ms Patterson withheld details at first about brutality she received, and the detective's answer that this was due to her *fear of retaliation by Mr Brooks* .
That is an answer I'm sure Brooks would have preferred to leave off the record, but he couldn't help himself from trying to impugn the integrity of one of his victims.
I keep looking at the poor man in the courtroom that lost his mother in this tragedy and my heart breaks for him!!!
Same here....poor guy, and Brooks could care less.
That was Lee Owens son. He and his brother were bother there. One of them was the one who twice hollered out at Darrell. Had to leave courtroom. But judge bright them back in pretty quick.

These prosecutors are on the ball and are DETERMINED that he isn’t gonna sidetrack or wreck this prosecution and I’m loving it! He deserves what he’s gonna get and rightly so. They are making sure they do this 100% by the book and aren’t letting him control the process. They’re doing their jobs and dang good at that! This clown thinks he’s gonna change something on appeal. Riiiiight. It’s his own behavior that is causing these actions. That’s in HIS control and the appeals circuit isn’t gonna fault the judge for responding appropriately. Hope I’m alive to see them affirm per curiam!
Edit: His lack of understanding of legal processes isn’t going to be a defense on appeal. MAYbe he shouldn’t have represented himself. The old adage is true, he has a fool for a client.
in order to defend himself he must sign a waiver that he has no right to appeal.
How about some credit to the judge? Can't believe how patient he is with him. No one from the judge, prosecution, victim's and their families should have to put up with his antics.

Very specific to EP, Brooks tried to say he got “letters” from EP and that she had sent him pictures. He didn't expect the second courtroom.. HES SO MAD.
It seems that this guy's motive is to discredit every witness based on semantics and non-sequential details. Someone should have told him that the sov-cit playbook (the "plaintiff" questions, "I do not consent to being called that name", jurisdiction, etc.) does not work in a court.
You know, for all the pontificating that sovcits do about the nature of the law and state they never seem to get through their heads that the state has the force of coercion to make you bend the knee. It's literally a matter of "might is right", but somehow these people are so full of themselves and think that they can go to court and just do a little "GOTCHA, BITCH!" statements like "how can the state be the plaintiff if it's not a person? Did you think about THAT Honorable Judge? Bet you didn't."
ABSOLUTELY CORRECT! This defense does not exist anywhere in the world, let alone the USA
Yes, I agree re the sov-citizen stuff. Did someone give him bad advice or is he clutching at straws?
He is getting advice from other sov cit inmates. Guess the irony of them being “inmates” didn’t sink in.
I also think instead of paying for ink on his body, (tattoos ) he DB should have been paying for child support. I think the ink has hurt his brain from learning anything. The biggest laugh was, DB did NOT know what forthright was. He practically called Det Guth a liar, b/c he thought “not being forthright” was lying. 😂😂😂
Have you really looked at his ink? The only one that looks professional is the one over his right eyebrow. The others look like Jail tats!
There is no way his conviction (which is sure to come) can be overturned. This judge has been astoundingly patient, cognizant of preserving his rights, explained everything, and bent over backward to respectfully listen to, and answer, his questions and incessant “am I interrupting?” nonsense.
The kindness and generosity shown to this person was only seen as a opportunity to be seized upon. This was obvious from the beginning. For all the world to see. He clearly knew he had nothing more 😢to lose.
I am amazed that holy bible near him didn't burst into flames.
Amen!!!!

It is hard to believe that the court, witnesses and anyone involved had to endure weeks and weeks of this garbage from this individual, unbelievable. Right? But while he sits there as a murderer….he throws a fit that he had a boo boo on his finger and a bruise or two.
Yes, he has not one ounce of remorse. It's appalling his lack of respect for the victims and families of the victims that were killed.

He is not exceptional intelligent. Most of all of his tactics simply involve one of the tactics. Gaslighting, obfuscation and projection. This doesn't make anyone intelligent. He has simply been watching the bunch of weird talking freaks of nature that have infected our government, schools as well as the media employ these same obstructing tactics.
They nor he are of more be than average intelligence.
From most of what I've seen of him in this courtroom (& the empty one in which he continues banishing himself to again & again) I've merely seen constant argumentative tantrums & his huge tendency to mistake his full onset of narcissism for intelligence. Ole dude continues to refer to himself as the 'alleged defendant' days beyond the judge TRYING to explain to him that, no he Is def the defendant...nothing alleged about it...but he won't learn anything new here or anywhere. He can't when he so ignorantly sees himself as the smartest person in the room.
he has zero defense. nothing at all to offer to repudiate a single thing he's accused of.
That explains why he tried so hard to deflect and distract

Every night he learns a few big words and repeditly uses them, even though he doesn't know the meaning of them. He doesn't know his own name, intelligent my a-s!
Its so offensive how he tries to imply people are financially gaining by testifying. Totally irrelevant. Totally absurd.
How does he think this will help his case. He so upset that the officer answers his questions looking at the jury.
He is soooo clueless. It is astonishing to me that all these witnesses maintained their calm and dignity.

Your title is so misleading. He did not break down in tears due to any remorse for what he did. He was crying because the judge asked for him to give him his covid tests results. He refused, courtroom was cleared so deputies could find the results among his papers. Sounds like he claimed they abused him during this process. So he is crying simply because he feels sorry for himself because he cannot get his way.
How did you know that 😳
The title simply says "he broke down in tears" period! The title says NOTHING about remorse or any other reason!
YOU are the one implying that YOU know the reason & making an accusation for something that wasn't said at all!
I watched the trial today on the law and crime you tube channel. It looks like court tv cut out what I am talking about. It occurred right when they came back from morning break. They cut coverage soon after he refused to comply with her request and then when they came back he was upset. The whole thing starts around 2 hrs 39 min on law and crime.
@@jeanneeber there was something said by Judge which he didn't want to comply with. Feeds were cut while he was dealt with but you know something happened by what the judge said when they came back. I loved the cop. Over and over, he answers the exact question Brooks asks, and yet doesn't provide any information. "Did you see xxxxx? " "Yes." "Did she say anything about xxxxx?" "Yes." It's quite funny, until you think about how focused he is on Patterson, with no interest in the fact that he killed 6 people. Then it's disgusting.
Well said.
Yup! Great responses. He’s digging for info and faults constantly.
He wants this trial about Erika, it’s all her fault. The mention of her name triggers him. He can’t control her so he’s bent on blaming her, if he never met up with this woman! Lowlife murderer.
That detective was the boss...
2:54:30 - Brooks crying over the Judge taking away his Covid test results is all about control. He’s angry he doesn’t have control over her like he does with Ericka and his mom. Strangely he never shows this amount of emotion when talking about the victims he killed and injured, or even when he talks about how he can no longer see his kids. This incident is the one that got the most tears from him in the 3-week trial. What does that say about him? That control over those around him is much more important than anything else. And as for the people killed and injured in the parade? He never shed a tear throughout the whole trial. A few times he acted like he was feeling grief for the deaths - especially at the autopsy of Jackson Sparks - but there were never tears except for himself.
He balled at the first hearing with his head down on the table when he had his dreds...DA was telling all of his charges even in the past.. he was embarrassed. He is such a psycho path!! 🤡
Spoiler alert!!! Have watched the ending - and he cried at the end for himself - cried a lot for himself.

Ms Patterson did amazing considering, she must have felt so empowered after!
Her eyes bore right into him as he tried to manipulate her with his questions and loaded threats of getting her thrown out of the shelter for drinking etc. She must feel so free now he isn’t free to coercively control her in her everyday life.

@@paulx3827 sure. Then he would’ve appealed for mistrial and he would absolutely be free right now.
If he had done this in Texas, he would have been placed in general population, as opposed to the single occupancy suite he was afforded in Wisconsin. I just hope that Erika realizes just how very close she came to real danger. I think this clown was. With every fiber of his being. Planning on her accepting to take the rap for him. She had nothing or nobody. He thinks he had owned her from a very young and impressionable age. I think this is why the detectives went in hard fast and had him sign the protection order. During the taping of his many many, many lies with Carpenter and Detective S. (Which didn’t stop him from calling her dozens of times.) If you go back and listen carefully to this LONG video and consider this as his “ what if I wasn’t the one driving driving the truck “. This was his it wasn’t me. She crazy she drunk, she drinks, don’t know if she was drinking, i loves this woman, wanna marry her if only, and so on. I also feel quite certain his mom would have backed him up. Like he was saying. There was also the dna. I think the detectives knew he might do this. They stepped in and protected her as well as keeping him from delaying. Keeping him from prosecution. Everything he did during this interview was to gain as much information as possible. So he knew how to make his next move. He really, really needed to get to the phone. Why does he keep saying alleged defendant he is the defendant he is the suspect he is a murderer.period
He’s so disrespectful to the jury. I guess the rules don’t apply to him.
Why doesn't the court explain to him that the plaintiffs in the case, are deceased or severely injured and traumatized, and being represented by the State Prosecutors?! Why do they let him keep asking this question!
Exactly...that makes me crazy. It would be so easy to shut it down.
For some reason they waited until the prosecutor’s closing statement and then she left no doubt. Made him mad.
I assume his questions on this are the sovereign citizen rhetoric about there not being an injured party for a traffic ticket. I saw in defendant ask this in a trial about him not paying child support where the judge immediately shot back that she assumed it was his child who he owed back child support. I think brooks really thinks he had something in there being "no visible injured party". So stupid and cold. Who does he think is the plaintiff? The state, for the benefit of the victims and their families.
He is also allegedly representing his client so why cant he get it round his had that the state are representing the dead and injured.
Brooks IA way past a menace to society. Did anyone hear all of his crimes at his bail hearing? If not go back and look at that. There is no reason why he should've been out of jail. They gave him way to many chances and the charges were so serious.
It was a matter of time before he killed someone. I would file a lawsuit against the DA who set bail so low which permitted this scum back in to society to hurt others.
