this is an underrated comment loll
After you watch this last WINGS short film, as much as I’d like to see you read the Webtoon please do not do it until you watch the last few music videos!! At the least the most important one you need to see is Euphoria (TRUST ME). It’s kinda like the Butterfly Prologue.
And also I want to suggest that you start reacting to more than one video at a time (like two videos in a video) because it’ll make the process a lot quicker and more enjoyable in my opinion. But here’s the list of the last ones you haven’t seen yet!!

This song is about the fear of your best never being good enough. It’s about trying to reach your dreams but failing in the process and slowly losing faith in them. Although the song starts off kind of sad, towards the middle of the track we see that Jin is saying that no matter how many times he fails, he won’t stop trying to succeed. Often times, Jin thinks he isn’t as good as the other members, which is heartbreaking and so untrue. This explains the lyrics “I can’t fly like the flower petals over there”, referring to the other members of BTS. Though, as we can see from the lyrics “I’m so afraid; still, I hold these six flowers tightly in my hands”, Jin is determined to keep working hard with the other members no matter how many times he fails. In the end, thanks to ARMY’s love and support, Awake peaked at number 31 on the Gaon Music Chart and number 6 on the Billboard World Digital Singles Chart!! 💜💜💜
Edit: (Based on a lovely reply) RM once said during a VLive that Awake wasn’t originally supposed to be Jin’s song, but it does a good job of representing his feelings. Jin also actually co-produced the song!!

The "flower petals over there" in the lyrics are actually The other members and jin thinks that he isn't as good as them and he will never be and that he can never fly like them
For me this is the most emotional of the wings short films, it gives you the same feelings when your favorite movie or tv show ends, even if it's not the end of the storyline yet, but combining Jin's vocals, the lyrics, the cinematography, jin's acting, the instrumentals, the pictures at the end, this is what we call a MASTERPIECE, everything is at another level.

the whole WINGS conept is based on Hermann Hesse's book "Demian", which is related to fallen angels. the things RM is saying at the beginning of every short films are quotes from that book.
Abraxas is a half angel, half devil. also the painting in the Blood, Sweat & Tears MV is "The Fall of the Rebel Angels" by Peter Bruegel.

the name abraxas is a character from the short story from hermann hesse named "demian". where an old man named emil sinclair reflects on his childhood from only 10 years old to his adulthood, explaining through concepts of day and night/light and darkness: his family representing light, and although he lives in the realm of light, he was always very curious of the darkness.
if you can recall "blood, sweat & tears," these tracks are a part of *that* same album--the "WINGS" album--which is why jin was such a pivotal character there, and v was some sort of "fallen angel" type character.
but anyway, on your downtime you should really read "demian" because it's a really interesting read. rm actually was the one to read about it, and so he shared his creative mind through the visuals in the mv of bs&t *(along with the other members, their short films, and whomever are their production team is lol).*
Imagine getting to know all these stories once a few months. It had been years of work. Maybe I went crazy waiting for their next album to come out. It's probably the only advantage of being an ARMY late. Now you can watch all the stories and videos all at once🤭
man, I actually loved the feeling of anticipation I felt between albums. the time between hyyh and wings was especially significant. back then ARMY used to think we'd get solid answers... over the years I learned that getting an answer/explanation is not the point, it's about how it makes you feel and how you interpret it. because that's the point of art :)

But some songs (for example Run, I need U and the short films) are only about the Storyline and important and other songs (for example Fake Love, Blood Sweat and Tears and Spring Day) just have little references to the Storyline (but they're still part of it)

Nadine lynn p I respect your opinion but I believe it’s jhope because his mum in the storyline abandoned him when he was 9 and V’s mum was never really in the storyline it’s always been his sister and dad. And in the webtoon and notes it’s seen that he can predict the future/knows what happens in other timelines in his dreams, so therefore it’s in his eye because he saw it in his dreams.
Jimin is my bias but Jin's Awake are easily my all time favourite Bts Solo song..i got goosebump almost everytime i heard this song

I am proud of jin like sm.while other members had any backround story in rapping,singing or dancing, he had to learn singing and dancing. He worked really hard, he worked his ass off and there are some people saying he isnt good enough. They say he is a dozen just bc he isnt like jk or other vocalists in kpop but he really is my angel. His silver voice is like heaven to my ears. This song is so emotional it majes me cry. Its about being afraid to not be good enough. He has been through a lot. Great he stayed and didnt lose himself.

For me this is such a sad song... Jin a lot of the time is/was seen as the least talented member & only known for his visuals (good looks). But he is the member that works so hard to be the best at his craft. In the debut days and even now he being the hyung(the eldest) he looked after the members while practicing around the clock. Working on his vocals and dancing, his determination needs more recognition imo. My bias Seokjin, this man deserves the world💜

That was abraxas on the wallpaper. There was a statue of him in blood sweat and tears and in stigma and run he is what v spray painted on the wall. In Korea, "to fly" is to reach your full potential. Way back in "I Need U", the flower petals that Jin burned are the same flower petals he's talking about now: the other 6 members of BTS. It's not freedom, but his friends. That's indicated by the fact that the pictures appeared in the same place that he had laid the flower petals. Also, the pictures for each member are in the same order as the other six films. In the song, itself, unrelated to the BU, he's saying that he's not as good as the other members of BTS are and he'll never go as far as they will. They are able to fly, "to touch the sky", but Jin doesn't think that he can. This song absolutely breaks my heart every time I hear it.
He does have something to do with flowers (as to the white flower petals you can see in some mv's), but the jacket he had on in The Truth Untold was because he had performed Awake just before that. The flower jacket was for Awake.
In this song, jin is portraying that the 6 flowers ge is holding in the lyrics are the 6 members. And is expressing his hardships in fixing all of the problems happening to each of them. Even though he is struggling and dying through the proces and might fall already he still stretches his hand and keeps moving forward for the sake of his friends which is the rest of the members. Jin is like the main protagonist of the story who is supposed to save everyone
everything is connected, even the songs are connected to the mvs and to the story,,, don't think just because hope sang about his mama that it's not related because it is! also when jin talks about '6 flowers' he meant the other 6 members cuz he's a pivotal character in the storyline. u can also see birds in on, u can see the curtains and the flowers on fake love and in the highlights, once again, everything is connected!.... I highly recommend blood sweat and tears Japanese version MV cuz it also contributes to the storyline and people tend to forget that.

seokjin is the key to everything. bare this in mind. he is the main protagonist.
The figure on the wallpaper is Abraxas -Half human, half bird-. That Abraxas thing is coming from a book called as “Demian” by Herman Hesse. Demian is the main subject of Wings album. Also you've seen the Abraxas in Taehyung's Stigma short film and in Run MV. Taehyung was digging the Abraxas word against the wall and there was the same half human half bird figure on the wall too.

Let me tell you something, Wings's theories are in part connected to the theories of BTS's universe, but not entirely. Much of BTS's discography is based on Demian's book, a psychological history that is also involved with Jung's archetypes, in all these films there are many objects, objects with meanings and so on. Everything is there with a reason, it goes in chronological order and they all represent an archetype, there are many videos that explian that, but the best that i evee seen is in spanish, but believe me, this is much more than it seems.
the figures on the wallpaper is actually a representation of abraxas. it's a reference from the book, 'Demian' by Herman Hesse where RM is narrating from.
Abraxas is called the Gnostic Warrior with snakes for legs. it's actually a holding a whip and a shield on the other hand.
Abraxas is associated to be the "world creator". He is life and death, the beginning and the end. He is good and evil.
which ties into the theme of the WINGS era which is an exploration of contrasts between light and darkness, good and evil and the balance between the two.

SAM IM SO BOTHERED PLS READ THIS!!!! the song Awake is about jin, how he feels like he's not good enough, "maybe i can never fly" like the other flower petals he's referring to the 6 members who's flying on their own, , but even though he feels like that he's happy that he's there supporting the other members and that he will still try, he will still run because it's his dream.
This song is so beautiful, this is the first time i heard jin's pain, he's cheerful on the outside but no one really know's what he actually feels inside.
