It's so wonderful to hear Roy talk about the horses he rode, you could hear the love and admiration for them in his voice. His integrity and professionalism, and the work he did for apprentice jockeys inspiring. Thanks for the upload, this is a beautiful tribute to a great man. It's very moving to see.

Thank you for posting this. I was living overseas when Roy died so missed it. When I was a kid I would have pinups all over my room of horses from Racetrack magazine. Roy was my favourite jockey. Then as I got older and was a regular racegoer I would see him doing the mounting yard report. Sometimes alone waiting for the horses to come into the first parade ring. When he wasn't busy I would find the nerve to say hello and he always say hello back. Bruce McAveney was a regular too at Flemington down at the old tie up parade ring. Good times and memories.

Les Carlyon bang on the money. You watch any racing video such as greatest horses of the 60s and 70s for example, Roy speaks in a manner that gives a viewer a deep insight and his total respect for the horse
