Just shows us how much we accumulate when we spend. I'm on a minimalism journey so trying to use things up and not buy more. It's worth it all!

    Tips:
    1. What is your reason for doing this?
    2. Pre plan for no spend Jan .ie time frame,intense level pick one thing or more to stop spending money on.
    3. Remove distractions, i.e email-site marketing, Amazon etc. advise others of your journey.
    4. Track your progress, the good and bad.
    5. Get an accountability partner, friend or family.
    6. Bonus Tip, make extra money if you can.

    My husband and I are going to do a low spend month!
    We are buying the two birthday gifts before the month begins, and we are giving ourselves ONE emergency Chick-fil-a run for a crazy night with the kids. Gift cards are fair game. Groceries, meds, bills and dr visits as usual.
    Otherwise…
    NO coffee or food from restaurants,
    NO Amazon or online purchases,
    NO new clothes/makeup/skincare.
    NO subscriptions (all paused unless paid annually)

    I,ve been doing no spend for the last 2 months. I’ve saved over 100.
    My reason for doing it is to train myself to not impulsively spend.
    I also do a no eating out challenge. Necessities is all I spend on.Do I eat out yes but only about 5-6 times a month. Do I spend unnecessarily? Yes! But I,ve cut way back on spending the way I use too.

I also help care for my mom and autistic brother, so I’m always on the go. I’m going to make a plan to stock my freezer and fridge with quick meals.

    What helped me do a no spend was pairing it with another challenge: 1 item in, 1 item out
    I was preparing for a move so I actually did 1 in, 3 out!
    If I had 5 items in my shopping cart, then I had to think about the 15 items that would go when I got home, and that usually convinced me to put things back 😂

  • @Nicolef888
    @Nicolef888 7 месяцев назад +1

    I’m focusing on no spending as well for the new year. Instead, I will be selling. Right now ive only made 2k, but I’ve sold multiple items on eBay/depop. Everything from old clothes to tech and I’m actually getting buyers. I’ve only been in business for like 2 months but it’s still extra money coming in. Even better my elderly neighbor gets a LOT of packages but isn’t able to put it out for recycling. He offered to give me boxes to ship my things for free. Also my closest post office lets me just drop packages and go. All I have to do is print the labels at home. I’d suggest others try it. You’d be surprised who wants your junk.

    Jazmine…I’m committed to STEWARD GOD’s Money better in 2024. Because I have spent TOO much money this year when I could have use that for debt. Thanks for the information 💰💲💸💵💲💰

    I did a no spend for 3 weeks in November. I did a weekly menu plan. Used ingredients from my pantry, fridge, freezer. I managed to save over $400. And this week I made over $500 just by selling unwanted items on fb. If you make more effort, set your mind to achieve your daily goals, you can do it. I will be spending this money for groceries and paying utility bills.

    I was just sitting here thinking how can I keep myself from justifying a reason to buy something. I know me. But you clarified my questioning. I’m in. This will be a challenge because I’ll be focusing on the no spend. It’s like you tell a child don’t touch something and they just have to. So I will be starting small. I haven’t decided if I’ll do a week or weekend first. But I am thinking of doing a New Year’s Day no spending. Keep sharing. 💲💵💸

    I think it’s important to keep in mind how you want to feel when taking on this challenge. For anyone growing up in a household where the answer was always no if we wanted to use money for something, this may appear like a responsible way to live up to that trauma whereas deciding internally “I want to spend this money now on the thing that I want because I want it now” can be a healing alternative to telling yourself wait or flat out no

      I think that growing up poor got me into the credit card trouble I’m in now. I hated being poor and not being able to have nice clothes etc. So once I got good credit I went crazy, eating and buying what I want. I have to deal with that past

    • @meij_musicenthusiast
      @meij_musicenthusiast 7 месяцев назад +1

      @@MyLifeInTheDesert That’s a good point. I totally understand. I hope you accomplish what you need. For me, recognizing overspending was the first step. Then being realistic about the fact that I was the villain in my own story. I’m a spiritual person so watching law of attraction creators like Andrea Schumann helped me get the language I want to use when thinking about/using money. Then I recognized that avoiding using money was related to a blocked root chakra which translates to feel discomfort when it comes to being taken care of. I have to choose my needs and how I’ll meet them so that I don’t get distracted by the discomfort. I have a partner who came from money, but his mentality can still lean negative, so that’s why it matters to me to out-positive the negativity in order to build a positive relationship with money, in general. How do you like to approach your money troubles? I’d love to hear more about your journey and what steps you take to heal your money trauma 🙂

    Thanks for your motivation. I am waiting for the January sales to buy 3 things on my need list, but apart from that I will be doing no spend January with you . I would be very grateful if you would put the weekly prayer on RUclips as I don't use Instagram. Thank you and God bless you from Spain.

    Hwy Bestie! I'm going to start with a "no spend" for the first two weeks in January then switch to a "low spend" for the remaining two weeks. Or vice versa, I haven't decided yet (its the Libra in me) lol. I need to break my habit of impulsive spending 💰💜💰💜

    January will definitely be a challenge for us since we are planning a one week trip out of state to see what we can see and see who's who and what's what regarding relocating this year. I'm hoping to have what we need financially. It will be a challenge but it will be a really good incentive to do a no spend when we are fixin' to spend on what we need. Whew.

    I am doing three seperate no spend months throughout the year! My first month I am doing this, is in January! The goal is to get my student loans paid off (total $1700 which is not bad but I also dropped out), then pay my mom back for helping me after a bad breakup, and finally saving for a car..I am 22 and have had my car since 16 soo it has gone the ringer! My overall goal during this challenge is to just pay my bills and what I have essentially “saved” at the end of no spend months will be poured into my debts first and then to my savings! I am allowing myself to do two solo dates that are low spend. For example I am doing a coffee shop diamond date. Where I go into my fav coffee shop and diamond art and sip on coffee.

    Thank you for this video. I'm dealing with this now. Eating out too much lately and buying clothing that isn't necessary. Yes, i was just telling my friends that i can't eat out anymore. They like to all the time, but it influences me a lot. I usually dont eat out. Also they like to go to the mall which is a lot of temptations.

    On the last week of the month a trusted aesthetician needed a model for a few procedures I've wanted for a while, and it was over 50% off... I saved so much I got everything I wanted, and still had money left ! (already tanfered to my saving acount haha)
