I took the Dave Ramsey course years ago and the perspective you get on money is on a whole different level. I am now debt free and no car note no credit card debt. I have an emergency fund which makes up almost 4 months if I were to lose my job.

The sale was $5.95 for body care. I got a lotion, a soap, and spritz for my fetch points +$3 😂 I just scored. It’s rare I don’t shop sales , I just got lucky, had to share. 🍀

I have a separate bill account and I love it. I do cash if I have to save up for like a trip but my general savings I have 3 accounts (emergency, car, and holiday). I pay bills on payday too because the longer it sits there it’s too tempting to play games. I schedule what payments I can for payday but my rent and utilities don’t seem to do well like that so before I get out of bed on payday I’m online paying those.

For a "Don't", maybe don't shop online after 10 pm? I don't know if that is an issue with you, but I know I make poor decisions late at night. 😊 For me, setting up a Christmas club in January: automatic payments to the Christmas fund happens each month. I have a relatively small family of all adults, and as a retiree I don't have work obligations. But I do have quite a few friends whom I shop for. I try to do as many homemade gifts as possible, too. But I am with you on the part about enjoying every aspect of the season, not just the gifts. I tend to go a li'l crazy with the homemade cookies!

Biweekly pay. 2nd paycheck of the month covers beginning of the next month and 1st paycheck covers end of the month. I just kinda tallied what I need for bills due and how much I can save per pay period. I also over estimate bills a bit so that theres a small little bit of buffer in my checking.
We are with you on the excitement that comes with Thanksgiving and Christmas. We love it!!! And yes the spending comes with it. Even with those special ingredients that have to be purchased for those holidays' goodies (I love to bake; whew!) But this year is too tight for us to do like we've done in previous years. Homemade gifts are what's happening this Christmas. Everybody gets socks (I knit). Oh, yes, yes, yes; do not go to the stores at all if you don't have the cash in your pocket. No window shopping! Christmas 2024 is starting to be planning for in January 2024.

Same thing happened with me with interest after I paid off my card balance. Luckily it was only almost $4 for interest so I just paid it immediately. That zero balance feels good.💕
So I wanted to share that I have ADT and they went up on my bill I called them I told them I was changing services and my bill went from $75 to $21.95 so i would recommend calling them 😅
