You’re absolutely right when you say a lot of us don’t have enough money left because we do other things and then come back to pay bills. That’s what has led me to budgeting. I’m hoping to make a change in 2024.
lol 😂 I had a lot of missing reports last year… they still ain’t been found 😂😂 I love that u be transparent and don’t rush through the process so that ppl can get understanding
When I began trusting God and giving at least 10% in offering, God truly made/makes a way. I also do not use cash for gas. I have a separate checking account for gas only. This helps me to stay in budget for gas. Congrats on 40K!!!
I love your detailed explanation and demonstration! I got a better understanding of how to work out the zero based budget. What resonated the most is completing the worksheet on or right before the payday to put money where it needs to go before it’s gets spent and you find out you don’t have enough money for the bills for that paycheck because you spent it on variable expenses. I also have the BBP workbook and will be reconciling each paycheck beforehand so I don’t overspend on variable expenses before getting the bills paid. Thank you for taking the time showing the real life application of this method!
I made it to the end!!! This inspired me so much because I've been so depressed about finances! But this gave me inspiration to get my financial life in order! Thank you!
For gas, I have a specific account just for gas. I have gas cards linked to that account to get discounts as well as protect my funds from possible fraud. I work in fraud and have seen too often people’s accounts get hacked through their debit cards. If something happens to my “fuel” account, it’s not affecting my Bill money. It also helps me see how much I’m spending in gas.
Girl in the office spread RSV last week & I’ve been sick all week. Supposed to ice & snow tomorrow. 😷🙁But hey- the bright side is I can’t go & don’t feel like shopping! No spend in a tough love way!
Only a few minutes in and an instant subscribe. You have such a friendly and welcoming demeanor and I feel calm! Like yes, I can do this! I want my money to have parents! No more missing reports!
“I’m not gonna be wondering where my money went. I’m not gonna be shocked or confused” that intro RESONATED with me so much! I loosely follow a zero based budget, but thank you for breaking it down like this! Appreciate you 💫
You are so right. I get two paychecks a month. One is deposited into the bank that has my mortgage and the other is deposited into my Credit Union. I naturally pay mortgage and one credit card out of that account. Everything else is out of credit union and I pay all other debt and expenses from there on the 25th, even if not due until the 15th of next month. Thank you for your encouragement.
Hi Budget Treasures! Gosh you are such a great explainer of zero based budgeting. I agree with all the beautiful comments of how calmly and knowledgeable you explain following through budgeting direction on the form you are using to budget with. Having good patient teachers like you really helps to get the concept of following the order of the budget. This was a detailed lesson in budgeting. I loved the way you broke down deciding where your money should versus could go. The way you talked yourself through the decision process was so important, yet simple. But if you don’t have a system, or know how to follow it, then you don’t have a path to follow. You did an amazing job of inspiring me to paying off my debt first, before letting my lack of control or “order” lead me to spend money in “variable expenses” instead of paying off debt. Your detailed and non-rushed explanation helped me see that. Thanks again, a light bulb went off in my head! Lol 😮😅 If I make a more deliberate, consistent effort to pay the debt off first, that will lead to money being freed up to later free up more money to then allocate, or put into the sinking funds. Please tell me if I have this right? The sinking funds are like little individual savings accounts for things you need or want to get, but putting aside saving the money first, in an envelope or account, before spending the money. Saving for things in the sinking funds, instead of putting something on a credit card or worse, blowing the cash you didn’t save for whatever and then blowing your budget, right? Wow, your explanation was step-by-step and your demonstration was so visual and clear to me. Thank you so much for your time and effort to help me understand this better. Praying for continued success with your channel, may you continue to help others have the light bulb experience! Congratulations on your growth on your channel too!!!!!!!! Arlene (Miami)😊
my spend so far has had a bit of a blip a week into january but im now back on track again😊 i started a sticker chart to see my progress and getting my stars back on the chart is really helping me stay focused x
thank you for sharing your system. you're really helping me get my ish together! this is good stuff, and i'm giggling to myself bcz lately when i see your videos pop up, i be like... "uh oh, bestie said it's time to budget. lemme get my pencil and calculator!" LOL! thanks for inspiring all of us. ❤
"Every dollar has a job." I like that! And, it works. We did our first paycheck budget as well. We accounted down to the penny; yay! One sinking fund we created is "ingredients for holiday food". We cut way down on our intake of carbs and sugar so I don't bake much at all anymore. Except, for the holidays I do the traditional baking. This past Nov. and Dec. I realized - in the front of my brain - how costly ingredients are. So, we now have a sinking fund for it; haha. I know I'm gonna be happy we did this come this November.
Hey Bestie im doing great on my no spend so far and i just finished up my 0 base budget for the first week as well, I am so excited and can't wait for Monday prayer God is doing great things for all the besties

Thank you so much for explaining this concept. I have heard it and I have seen it but you've laid it out perfectly where I understand the concept. Now I am going to go back and do this concept because I do believe that this will help me and my husband in budgeting better. Many of our bills are on autopay which is AMAZING. But now each penny will have a place. Thank you so much!!!
Hey Bestie 💜!! Congrats on 40K 🙌🏾!!!.....Thank you for saying there's an order in how you budget your paychecks. I'll admit, I was the person you were describing in the beginning 😂😂😂....So far for my "Low Spend" to "No Spend" January has been going smoothly. No major hiccups. I took my remaining money out of my bank account and put it in my spending wallet. I've also been saving my receipts. Thanks for all you do! 💜💜💜
I budget same way. I get paid twice a month and pay bills that day, put gas aside and budget whatever is left over for everything else. It just makes sense for us. Thank you for your videos ❤
Love, love, love this video! Glad I came across your channel. The way you explained the order you pay from your check was a light bulb moment for me! TFS!!
Congratulations on 40k!!🎉🎉🎉 Thank you for breaking down the paycheck budget. I see now where I've been making some mistakes. So thankful I found your channel.🙏💕
Getting a handle on my expenses as well. Before I do anything ,I take care of my budget first.I don't spend it if it's not in my budget. And I tell people all the time, you can budget your wants, They just come last.
Congratulations on 40K! 🎉🥳You are right on time with this video. I feel like my money is always disappearing so this year I'm trying to stay on track with my finances this year and so on.
Thank you Bestie! Yup...Back to regular scheduled program. I try not to take a break...Plus I gotta show up for my Besties!! This is an important month 💜
I am starting on the budget journey. What paper do you use to be able to pull the pages out of your notebook and then reinsert them? I looked for that type of paper to print my sheets on.
I love your setup. I wish I was this organized. Same here. I am using the every dollar app through Dave Ramsey for my monthly budget and my planner for paycheck budgets. I am here for this! I am also excited for my personal loan. I just made a payment and it is now under $700! I cannot wait to add the monthly amount to my snowball. Is your personal loan on a fixed number of months?
I have been terrible already this year I bought Temu😢 but I have to get back on track and I will. Thanks for the detailed information. It helps a lot.❤
If you like you can get the costco cash card and put your gas money on there. That is what I do. I put the money in there each check most of the time I do not use it all so it’s helps me ensure I have gas money.
Hey bestie! Im doing great on my no spend. Im on social security so i get one check which is easy to budget into categories. Thanks for explaining the zero budget. Also i enjoy the affirmations that you have for day 1 and 2 and i have been writing them out. Are you going to do others for the rest of the month? Thanks 😊
Helll how are so I get social security one a months and I have this bank account where I told them to put overdraft protection on my account I use there money and when my social security come the bank take all of it
The funny thing is I have this same budget planner. I've been using it for 3 years yet never using the envelope portion. I still feel like I rob Peter to pay Paul.....& Mary too. Lol. So I'm following you sooooooooo closely. My issue is self sabotage.
Bestie I am not buying unnecessary things in Jan just my needs and some self care like my monthly waxing and maybe getting my feet and hair done sometimes. I got a goal this year and i am hitting some saving challenges.
I am so glad I found your channel. I have watched a lot of budgeting videos , but the way you line up your finances makes sense to me. I’m working on being a good steward over my money. I am glad to see someone placing tithes first on the budget. I love your planner I was looking for a link to purchase it. The paycheck method I am willing to tryout. Can you provide a link for me to purchase?
Thank you!! I need all of your videos. I have been doing great on my no spend days. I haven’t been shopping except once in the last week to go to the dollar tree. I did get groceries once, as well.
My no spend January is going well, however, I just saw something that I thought I really wanted so I had to remind myself that I don't Need anything! I'm enjoying your videos. Blessings!
Quick question. I understand everything you did except where you started. How did you get the $866.42 in the beginning? Do you figure out an amount by adding all your bills and this is the most they may cost a check or is this a percentage of your pay? Just looking to understand so I know how to start. Thank you!
What's the difference between the debt free notebook and the no spend notebook? Do I need both? Also, where can I find the tiny money stuffing saver book that you have your savings in? Your videos are so inspiring!
New subscriber/bestie and def need your voice to help me get in order. I’m so bad I was about to break the no spend to get a budget planner lol. I think for now I will make my own charts until I can be trusted with my debit card
I know you didn’t ask for opinions, but just wanted to send some encouragement your way. You’re doing the right thing! I had a .50¢ composition notebook laying around when I first started in 2020, and I just used a pen and wrote everything out, including a calendar. I’m still using that composition book. This is the last year though, it’s full now. Admittedly, as I started doing better, I bought colored pens and highlighters, and I’m still going with that system. And even for 2025, I already have another composition book ready to go. It’s a Lisa Frank I found on clearance. Yah, I’m an 80’s lady, LOL. Keep going, you can do it.😊
@mrspkitty1387 thank you! I didn’t ask for advice but you knew I needed it as well as some encouragement. Thank you, this is just one of many baby steps I need to take to freedom!
😂that intro had me cracking up lol dem memes... 😂 funny but true. I was like true true I will NOT be looking for my money with a flashlight in the daylight, no ma'am not me 😅
My brother and I call that God math! I was a struggling single mom of two little girls and thought I must be doing something wrong because I was paycheck-to-paycheck. Like .25cents in my account with a week until payday. My brother reviewed my finances and came back to me and could not figure out how I was even having .25 cents leftover. He noticed one constant in my routine - my check register line item was paycheck deposit, tithe, bills, groceries..... God is faithful and when we obey the fruit is evident.
I did my January budget budgeted it out to where I knew what each paycheck was going to be and then I got sick so all my overtime for my paycheck is gone for two weeks so I have to redo my whole January paycheck budgets again so that I can pay themwith my second paycheck instead of the one that I’m going to get with no overtime
So far so good on my no spend January. It’s so hard with tomorrow being Saturday and usually spending that day out and about and not worrying about how much I spend. Gonna just stay in and do house stuff!
I just started watching your videos. So because I get SS I have to pay with what I have... I have been trying to save money but always something comes up.
So, to ensure I’m understanding correctly, you added the $5.67 to your bill account as a buffer and that’s where the overage will be allocated going forward?
I put the $5.67 in my "spending" account which is essentially a buffer for expenses. My bill account buffer will remain in my bill account. I hope that clarified.
Hey ! i have a few bills that are auto deducted how does that work on a zero based budget? do I stil do my cash envelopes or do I wait until the auto pays are done? this month I used my debit card for food so do I have to put that as a bill cuz what it says in my bank is not what i budgeted for? confused i use the every dollar app for a monthly view and i have started budgeting per paycheck and love it but I leave sinking funds in acct too I dont have very many yet still figuring out what ill budget for sinking funds
I’m a beginner and I’m on the process of organizing because if I don’t, this will never work for me 😂will you pleassse post where you got the tracker Ms from? All three of them…please. Also do I have suggestions for stickers.
Question how do you know your monthly totals and what you can spend this way? I see it working for you .. For me I add all my monthly bills ,then multiple my chk by 4. Then weekly I pay those bills knowing I should have some money left.
I think the confusion with the money left over is a lot of people’s expenses are majority of their income. Some people don’t know how to cut back so that their bills are 60-70% of their income which will allow them to have money left over for variables and goals.
No spend yesterday!! Woo Hoo! The kids getting ready to go back to their colleges tomorrow, Saturday 😭 Momma here will be okay!! They got plenty of rest. They are ready to go have something to do besides start home😁 I'm needing to replenish my envelopes... These kids are still expensive, bored and eat a lot.
I am struggling with my tracking. I just set up envelopes with grocery, gas, household, etc… Here’s my issue- I am a big rebate user and this is messing up my tracking since I am trying to separate categories. Today I spent $124.05 at Walmart and $60 of that was cat litter that was on rebate apps and ended up costing less than 1/2 the original price. I am wondering if I should keep my grocery budget and rebating budget together or try to keep them separate. I really want to keep track of my actual grocery costs but having to do so many different transactions to keep separate is messing me up! I wanted to do a no spend but I could not pass up cat litter for less than 1/2 price (it’s a deal that doesn’t come around often). Otherwise I am doing great. I picked up only milk, bread and yogurt and we should be good on all other food for at least another week. Very happy with expenses 4 days in😃
That is good. I am glad to hear that your spending is better. I really do not understand the rebate system so it would be difficult for me to speak on that. I am thinking that you have to spend money and get money back...I would say...If you do not need it, the rebate is not worth it..You would save 100% and not 60% if you do not spend. I hope that I am answering this correctly...😩 But overall, I am glad that you are overall saving...
Yes, I spent the money to get the money back. I bought only items today that I actually needed and as soon as the rebates go through (which is typically 30 mins to 2 hours) I transfer the money back to my checking account. But then it’s in my checking again and I feel like I need to go back to the bank to get the cash and put it back into the appropriate envelopes. I will probably get used to doing it, it’s just different for me that’s for sure! My main goal for the year is to coupon/rebate less unless it is a need or something that will be a need in the near future. I hope that all makes sense. Thank you for your response and your great videos!
@@jenniferrosenthal7731 Thank you for explaining this. Yes couponing can be addictive and expensive. I am glad that you are working on using up what you have.
@@jenniferrosenthal7731 I stick to original budget nevertheless. Say groceries budget is 75 a week, if I buy bulk on sales something worth 30, it goes to the budget anyway. It means you will not spend on it upcoming week. If your bill is 35 and you use saved bonuses of 25, it just means you get more products on less money. It is easier for me to think that way
@@jenniferrosenthal7731 I’d probably keep the rebate back in the check account and keep as an additional buffer, you never know what’s around the corner. Buffers are godsend, groceries go up…you have buffer and can re-evaluate your grocery budget next month. Spend too on gas/transit then re-evaluate etc…or crap day you’re out get that coffee drink with friends/coworkers 😊
You're not slow there is a lot to learn but it is pretty easy once you get it. Speaking for myself, I keep a few hundred dollars in my "buffer" category so I have a little cushion.
You are not slow. I thought the same thing for years. Zero budget just means that you have a job for every dollar. Example. You have a checking account and after you have paid bills, you have $300 left over. With that $300, you have to give it something to do. If you want it to be a buffer, leave it in the account and the job of the $300 is to be a buffer. If the $300 will be used to spend on miscellaneous things, that would be the job of the $300….I really hope that makes sense.
You’re absolutely right when you say a lot of us don’t have enough money left because we do other things and then come back to pay bills.
That’s what has led me to budgeting. I’m hoping to make a change in 2024.
You got this

Thank you!! I need all of your videos. I have been doing great on my no spend days. I haven’t been shopping except once in the last week to go to the dollar tree. I did get groceries once, as well.
You are doing great!! Keep at it!
Where did you get your pen holder case from?
I believe you got this! Praying for your success 🙏🏾✌🏾
Thank you Bestie!
Congrats on 40K! 🎉
I think you used one of my suggestions. That's fun to see!
My no spend January is going well, however, I just saw something that I thought I really wanted so I had to remind myself that I don't Need anything! I'm enjoying your videos. Blessings!
Yasss! I love this for you ❤️
Quick question.
Nice video! I like how you explain every thing
Thank you Bestie
How do you print the budget mom worksheets for free? Or did you have to purchase them?
I had to come back and watch while I did a mock budget and CHILLLEEEEE I can't wait to try it on this next paycheck! Can't wait to record 🎉💃
Yesss!!’. Let me know how it goes. Do you have a RUclips Channel?
@@BudgetTreasures I do lol I switch back and forth with accounts 🤣 but I record on @real_life_jus
Hello Bestie... I love how you share the how and your why.
Thank you Bestie ❤️
Congratulations on 46K!!
LOVE your nails! ♥️♥️♥️
Great video. I did not see the close out for December..Could you please consider placing your closeout in a playlist?
Nice thought process video. Step by step and clear. Thanks for the video.
😂that intro had me cracking up lol dem memes... 😂 funny but true. I was like true true I will NOT be looking for my money with a flashlight in the daylight, no ma'am not me 😅
Have not spent a penny so far it’s going good. Every time I watch a cash stuffing video it inspires me to save more for my video for Saturday ❤❤
Yayyy!! I am so proud of you!! Let's GO!
I spent $18 on groceries today and should be good on fresh food for a week or so because I still have some left
@@jenniferrosenthal7731 Nice!
Is the 866.42 what you brought over from the last paycheck or your expected paycheck?
I brought over about 64.78 from the last paycheck and added $801.64 from my paycheck.... I will separate it out on my next paycheck budget.
I do the same thing pay all my bills as soon as I get paid.
It just works so good like that
My brother and I call that God math!
I have never clicked on a notification so fast😂😂
Awe Bestie ☺️🙏🏽 Thank you so much
That is exactly me it freaks me out 😮thinking I don’t have any money 💴
LOL! Yes, I thought that for sure
Thank you bestie imma get this debt gone tthank you for helping my family!!
Absolutely!! It will be gone!!
Hey bestie, great information and love how well you explained everything ❤
Thank you great video Bestie ❤ Congrats on 40K! 🎉🥳🥳🥳🎉🎉

That was a fantastic Zero based budget breakdown, nice job 👍 😊 33:38
So far so good on my no spend January. It’s so hard with tomorrow being Saturday and usually spending that day out and about and not worrying about how much I spend. Gonna just stay in and do house stuff!
Happy New Year! 💜 Great video - Very helpful!
Happy New Year!!
Although I always have a little bit of money left over but I'm always cutting it close.
Hello there, I'm pretty new here. I like this concept so far. I am going to follow along and see how this goes. Thanks
You’re welcome ☺️
I just started watching your videos. So because I get SS I have to pay with what I have... I have been trying to save money but always something comes up.
Hello there wondering where i buy this notebook
So, to ensure I’m understanding correctly, you added the $5.67 to your bill account as a buffer and that’s where the overage will be allocated going forward?
I put the $5.67 in my "spending" account which is essentially a buffer for expenses. My bill account buffer will remain in my bill account. I hope that clarified.
Oh ok thank you! ❤
I messed up Wednesday by going through the drive/thru 😢. So leaving cards at home.
It is okay...No worries. You are jumping right back on track and that is the good thing.
Hey ! i have a few bills that are auto deducted how does that work on a zero based budget? do I stil do my cash envelopes or do I wait until the auto pays are done? this month I used my debit card for food so do I have to put that as a bill cuz what it says in my bank is not what i budgeted for? confused i use the every dollar app for a monthly view and i have started budgeting per paycheck and love it but I leave sinking funds in acct too I dont have very many yet still figuring out what ill budget for sinking funds
Happy New Year 💅🏽
Happy New Year!!
The nails are 🔥
No spend yesterday!! Woo Hoo! The kids getting ready to go back to their colleges tomorrow, Saturday 😭 Momma here will be okay!! They got plenty of rest. They are ready to go have something to do besides start home😁 I'm needing to replenish my envelopes... These kids are still expensive, bored and eat a lot.
What if you have another income do you add that into your9-5 paycheck even thou the pay dates are not on the same day?
I am struggling with my tracking. I just set up envelopes with grocery, gas, household, etc…
Here’s my issue- I am a big rebate user and this is messing up my tracking since I am trying to separate categories.
It is easier for me to think that way
@@jenniferrosenthal7731
I’d probably keep the rebate back in the check account and keep as an additional buffer, you never know what’s around the corner. Buffers are godsend, groceries go up…you have buffer and can re-evaluate your grocery budget next month. Spend too on gas/transit then re-evaluate etc…or crap day you’re out get that coffee drink with friends/coworkers 😊
loved the video ❤
Thank you!
I might be a little slow but when you zero out your budget does that mean there will be zero in the account after everything is paid and cash stuffed?
I think this answers my question! Thanks so much! New sub and I’m learning so much already. Congratulations on 40k! ❤🎉
@@head8nana Welcome aboard! I am glad that you are here!! Thank you!
@@BudgetTreasures Ooooh ok! I get it now! Thank you 😊
What are sinking funds?
Where can I watch you live on Monday?❤
I will be live on RUclips ☺️
I closed a couple of bank accounts lol .I was trying to be better then I was .Chile I had empty accts everywhere.😊
For me rent and bills come first no matter what, I know I have the money then so why not pay for them first? Than buy groceries and debt
