      I am currently single mother of 3 kids under 5 and 2 of them about to start daycare. I totally understand. I am very focused on where my money goes at this time. I have cut non essentials as much as possible. I am also working at increasing my income and bring more money in. It's not easy. Take it one day at a time. Sending you prayers and love. Like you said in a previous video, one way to "make more money" is to give your budgeting approach a realistic look. Be honest with ourselves and "find" the "more money" we need in what we already have. This is not a quote but I think it's the essence of what you said. We have been doing exactly that and it works! Who knew? Oh, can you comment on how we should approach our tax refund? Ya' know, folks get all excited when tax refund time comes. I have already read the riot act to my husband as to what I want to do with ours. Thankfully, he agreed; haha.

    Excellent topic! It happens to everyone usually at the worst possible time. For a gift to subscribers how about an extra video about a topic that most think is money taboo? Example many people won't talk about money at all let alone debt or other bad financial situations. Maybe how to talk to someone about getting help and a list of where to go to get educated on money or help? Any taboo money topic that would shine a light on money issues. Just an idea that all your besties can benefit from. Thanks for the video.

    I love your videos Jazmine! So SO pleased at the end you talked about lowering expenditure rather than over budget so you have a minus budget. I follow YNAB’s methodology (which is also a zero-based, envelope system only I budget digitally!), which means if you only had $130 left, that’s all you should budget. Lower grocery bill for a coupla weeks, try to go out less to conserve gas etc. it’s tough, but it’s the only way to go to stop sliding into further debt. I had $50K in consumer debt at one point (yes, really) but switched to YNAB in 2014 and have been debt free (aside from mortgage and car) for 10 years, but we’ve travelled to Rome, regularly go to gigs etc. it has literally changed my life! ❤

      @@BudgetTreasures For my bills, I decided to put either $10 or $20 in each envelope that I couldn't fulfill the whole amount that I needed. And for my big bills like school bill, and rent I had to cover those amounts.
      When it comes to not having the planner, I just write down all my bills, and split the full amount and I use envelopes and stuff them.

    Hi there. I want to say thank you. I am buying a house by myself and for the first time. I'm obviously scared sheetless, but I'm also a cash budgeter and have a very nice cushion/E-fund but for some reason I'm psyching myself out.
    Watching this video has reminded me that i live comfortably on the budget i am on. I have already created a budget for things once I move in, so I know that I need to tinker with it if I'm concerned.
    You reminded me that there are so many cheaper options available to me that I can start taking advantage of now to continue saving. Even if you only put $5 towards household cleaning, "Comet still works". Selling any valuable items that have no use to me anymore for a little extra cash is also easy...
    Thank you. 🙏

One of my biggest struggles/failures is that bills come out on set dates....i'm paid bi-weekly but those dates change every month...there are some months where the first pay is between the 10th thru the 14th depending on the calendar which there have been some months that I've had to pay bills late or else we'd have no money for up to a week I'd welcome help/suggestions on how to budget when my pay is different each month some bills are due the last week of the month...the vast majority are within the first 2 weeks of the month

I have a question....I noticed you never budget for entertainment or spending money (ie going to the movies, going to an event, purchasing an outfit for an event) or how you get your hair or nails done. Most certainly not on a paycheck that is tight but on your other paychecks that is not as tight. Can you speak to this?

    • @BudgetTreasures
      @BudgetTreasures  Год назад

      Thank you so much ❤️ This is a great question. I don’t shop for clothes often since I started back on my journey I believe May of last year. There was a few times that I did not add in my budget and I “overspent” and went against my “no spend” and bought clothes. I show this on my no spend calendar and budget close-outs. Regarding my nails, hair, entertainment, etc. There are times that I do not have to pay for those things as they are gotten/paid for me ☺️ BUT when I do pay out of pocket, I do budget for it, mainly out of my side hustle budget. It wasn’t as structured and that’s something I realized. So. With that being said, this year I have sinking funds for these things and I will show me saving the money and spending it. But to be really honest. My #1 priority right now is getting rid of this debt. Lots of my money goes there. I don’t go outside much ❤️
