- I was wanting to install a 'Simple Pump' hand pump so I was getting an idea of how much room I have to get past my pitless adapter assembly. Pretty tight and not looking good. Will have to re-thing this.
Thank you for this vid. Helped me understand my setup. It looks the same. :)
I'm glad it helped.
I have the same type of pitless adapter, I took it apart and I'm having a hard time trying to figure out how it goes back together. BTW, that looks like it's quite far down the hole, mine is only about 7 or 8 feet.
I've been thinking of a deep-well hand pump (for power outages). I too have a 5" PVC well with a pitless adapter. I tried a pitcher pump but my static level wasn't high enough. I'm still trying to figure out a way to get around that pitless adapter. Let us know if you figure out a way.
The man who installed my 5 " said they can replace the top section to below the pitless adaptor with a larger pipe. I'm sure he will have to pull the 150' of pipe. Unsure of costs, he hasn't quoted a price yet. Not quite 330' but this seems like an easier option than a secondary well. I would like to do the simple pump, but at what costs?
Looking to do the same with a simple pump. What did you end up doing?
Have the simple pump but never did install it. Can't get past that pitless adapter; it's too big. If the worse happens, I can pull it out, then install the simple pump. However, pulling up 330' of pipe out be pretty tough so would have to rig up something.
Mine is about 10 feet deep...
Looks like your pit-less adapter is about 20 feet down.
+Blackaboe Actually it's 10 feet.

I thought it might be the camera lens Even still 10 feet is excessive, must be hard to engage the pitless adaptor.
+Blackaboe Need to keep the water line below the frost line which is why it needed to be that deep. I've made up a 12 foot threaded pipe with a T-handle so that I can attach to the pitless adapter if needed.
frost line in up state NY is 42" we put ours at 48" where do you live?
Northern Alberta
That Pitless Adapter is a "Snappy" there the best. I will only buy snappy.
