Glad you made it through. It's been my experience, that in the main, you make your own good luck by hard work and preparation. Well done on your preparation for the worst.

Glad you vessel is okay. I'm up in the mountains of Pennsylvania now. My mother in-law used to have a trailer a block away from you. Heading over towards Sanibel I have a double wide that survived. I saw Salty Sam's before it was Salty Sam's. I forget the old name. So I seen it from the beginning. I sail with my buddy some what when I'm there. My family, friends and different churches of our area has been praying for all of South Florida and SW Florida. Our Church's mission central is taking a few truck loads of clothing, water, food, and other supplies for everyone. Thanks for posting this. It made me feel good that it wasn't destroyed.

What a relief. I was so worried about you two and Satori. Many others did not fair so well, but you took the necessary steps and did the hard work to prepare, and now you are rewarded. All our best to the both of you and Satori! Please let us know of your experiences with other sailors in the harbor; if you are able maybe interview a few...it would be nice to hear their stories too! Again, glad you weathered the storm!!

You guys are one lucky couple. Sailing the World, got a cute dog, great boat and each other. I'm glad Irma headed the direction it did after passing Marco Island and Naples. They cut off the water flow and slowed things down. She could have been much worse. Thanks for all your help down there. Panacea couldn't have survived without you two. Sail on captain and crew, sail on... Capt. Paul

I haven't seen my boat yet, but when you're drawn down in wind and as many lines as I had, I'm planning to have minimal drama. Satori's got work to do, I know I'll have work to do - I was deep in a hurricane hole, but seeing Satori bright and beautiful picks up my spirit. Here's to you guys. Good luck!

You are a great example of being a responsible boat owner. You prepared your boat to the best of your ability and it paid off. Many did little or nothing and many paid the price. I saw the same thing here in the Tampa area. Some homeowners did nothing to prepare their homes to protect them from wind or flood damage and now are paying the price and you hear the 'woe is me' stories.

Is there any indication if the lines you tied across your slip actually pushed the boat that drifted away? Based on where Satori was located, it seems very lucky the drifter boat did not come into your slip.

Hard to believe the guy next to left his dinghy hanging and had no damage, either. Maybe your slip choice had a lot to do with it, too! So happy y'all and excited for future videos.

So Happy about Satori. So far the only boat totally gone is Sailing Mischief which was out in the Islands. They had to evacuate most everyone including mischief crew. Your not only open but so far out, the most dangerous place. I've seen boats really moving with no power ! You guys rock, and the web across the outside could have been even more lines, that might have saved you ! I see another storm just coming together , similar to , in fact, already more powerful, than Irma and Harvey were. I watched both of them travel across the atlantic and this one looks more powerful already. Tis the season ! Windy dot com shows up brewing about the 22 or so.

What I thought was a disturbance disappeared from windy, good news, a break for the rest of September maybe. Southern Japan, not so lucky. Hopefully some good sailing coming up for you.

Wow...thankfully you guys had it good. Mother-in-law lives in the U.S.V.I. and they are hurting BAD. Florida needs fixing, but Islands have widespread devastation.
