I mean really, for the price of this yota, you dont get keyless unlock on passenger side, no premium JBL sound system, no power seats, pretty weak 6 cylinder (atleast make it 300hp), no sunroof and a super basic interior. its pretty much a car with a trucks cargo bed, and lifted. thats it

@17:50 The engine is the 2GR-FKS, with D4-S tech...so it has both direct and port injectors. You can see the D4-S logo on the engine cover. It has both Atkinson (simulated) and Otto cycle, so it can keep the valves open longer to reduce pumping friction and increase fuel economy in Atkinson, or it can produce more power in the Otto cycle.
Like this so far, I'm a Toyota man, had a '77 FORD 150, great truck and I wish I kept it, but I had a '94 Corolla that quit on me at 500 thousand miles. Love the 90 degree rear door swing, and rear back seat storage split. I hope the lumbar support has been addressed and really works well, and I don't live to far from this dealership so I love the leather for easy cleanup of pollen, dust,dirt, etc, especially living in the South. This is a smarter design as well as a smart video, great job!

I have a 2017 Tacoma and it is one of my lest favorite trucks i have ever owned. It lacks power it lacks strength it just is not a "truck". For heavens sake the toyota 4 runner has a bigger motor than it. Granted i am not a person who uses my truck to go to the grocery store. I actually use it as a truck. Please if you are looking for a real truck I strongly do not recommend this one. If you have further questions on why i do not like this truck fill free to ask

I have a 2018 Toyota 4runner TRD premium for the wife and love it. When it comes time for myself to get a pickup I am really considering the Tacoma. Retire the 94 Ford Ranger 4x4. After watching this video, I realized Toyota needs to cross a few things with the 4runner and Tacoma. Like adaptive cruise from the Tacoma and the gas assisted hood struts from the 4runner among other things.

Everything was going fine until that little finger..
You cannot charge your phone through a case. We even tried it with my brother in laws case which is just thin plastic on the back.

I test drove a 2014 Tacoma Prerunner v6 and the ride was very stiff. Is that normal for all Tacomas?
I don't like the black plastic fender flares or the black matt finish between the front and rear doors both are cheap looking. Don't know why Toyota went with this trim reminds me of the Service Trucks the power companies and cable companies use, not sporty at all. I rather keep my 2015 Tacoma without the plastic trim or matt black tape between the front & rear doors. Plus my shifter is solid all the way through not a cheap plastic boot at the bottom. Plus I have a drivers assist handle to grip when getting in the cab on my lifted truck which Toyota did away with on the 2016 and newer models. Plus the 2015 model has several additional toggle switch ports for adding additional pod lights, light bars and in my case all of the above plus train horns. Good video though thanks for sharing👍

I hate all the tech: traction control the lane and sensor gadgets and crawl control. All silly. Trucks should all have rubber floors so you can hose it out. Give us Gucci comfort features like AC/heated seats. If two 6ft grown ass men can’t sit in the backseat your wrong. Everything else about those trucks is good. Oh and give us a damn diesel option.

Have they done anything about the sluggish shift points yet? I test drove the 2016 when it came out and couldn't believe that the new six seemed to have less acceleration than my sons four banger. I passed.

Looking forward to what the jeep scrambler will offer. Diesel engine with upwards of 30 mpg. Yes, Toyota quality exceeds Jeep, but Toyota falls short on many aspects. Halogen headlamps still?! 4Runner has 4-disc brakes but lacks so much on different areas versus the Tacoma. Odd ness from Toyota.

Whatever happened to the small Toyota trucks they used to make? I had an 87 and a 2000 and got 250,000 miles on both. Toyota and Nissan are both missing out on huge markets from people who want small trucks and not these crazy expensive RV-sized trucks. Just doesn't make sense.

I have a TRD OR and trust me. The push start button novelty wears off, traditional key starter is cheaper to fix too if they break.
