- Welcome to Sydney Cycling. Today we are taking a mixture of shared and on-road paths and cycling around Sydney Harbour. The route starts from Dawes Point (just west of the Bridge) and finishes at Woolloomooloo (famous for Harry's Hot Dogs).
Sydney Cycleways consist of some great separated bike lanes and shared path roads that the whole family can ride. This route is a scenic ride showcasing the beautiful Sydney Harbour. There are a few sections however where you need to ride on road. The route takes you through these key attractions:
1. Sydney Harbour Bridge (and 'The Rocks')
2. Circular Quay
3. Sydney Opera House
4. Mrs Macquarie Point
5. Woolloomooloo.
The total length of todays cycle route is around 8km. I will be following up on the links to and from this route in future videos. I hope you really enjoy this video. Please subscribe as I will be uploading more Sydney Cycling rides and will try to cover more of Sydney's bike lanes and great rides.
Also please feel free to comment below if there are any particular bike routes you would like to see or have any other suggestions.

I did this ride in reverse twice in late June 22. I rode from woolloomolloo right through to the Anzac bridge with the harbour on my right the whole way. I liked the ride west of darling harbour best as there was hardly any people about compared to the busier areas. It’s amazing how good the harbour is from a bike, an ebike at that. On the second ride I stopped in at Chinatown and that was great. It’s a must do ride and you can hire ebikes almost anywhere along the route.
Thanks so much. Will be doing some more videos around the city soon 👍
Thanks for the post! Much needed in these lockdown times. It really captures the feel of a scenic exploration ride
Thanks mate. Much appreciated 👍
I love your posts mate, they're always calming and such a charm to watch. It also helps me greatly visualise some routes to try! Looking forward to your other branching videos from this one!
Thanks mate. Much appreciate the great feedback. Keep an eye out for a new video soon 👍
I used to run deliveries on a bicycle in Sydney. It's such a beautiful place to be out n about. This was the type of clip that demonstrates it. Cheers.
Good to see you back! Great video👏👏👏
Thanks for watching
Loved this tour and I can't wait for the lockdown to end so I can get back cycling around the best city in the world.
Thanks for watching. It's certainly the best city in the world (not biased 😉)
Thanks for the vids, really well done with commentary and music. Reminds us we need to get back to Sydney for a visit. All the best. Cheers
Should definitely come visit soon 👍
Gorgeous, thank you!
Thank you for watching 👍
Looks awesome. I’m keen to get up there snd do some runs on my bike. Enjoyed watching. Thank you. 😃🚴♂️🚴♂️👍
Thanks mate. Much appreciate it! It's a nice scenic ride 😎
@@sydneycycling8631 Yeh. A couple of years ago I hired one of those little hire bikes and was surprised to see all these new green cycling lanes. Loved it and ride over the harbour bridge from Darling Harbour. Always thought I’d like to take my bike up snd go for a spin. Pretty keen once all this lockdown passes. 😃🚴♂️🚴♂️👍
Yeah hopefully this lockdown eases soon and we can get to explore more places 👍
@@sydneycycling8631 Definitely 😃👍. 🚴♂️🚴♂️
Hi Good videos, just found them after searching four years+ for Aussie cycling videos. I have some of Canberra and made suggestion to RUclips (a couple times now) for a cycling choice for category. Hope you're still enjoying your rides. Lets people know active opportunity and mine can be used by authorities as a cycle req knowledge base. Atb❤
Nice and relaxing. Sad we got the 5km rule
Thanks for watching. Hopefully things get better soon 🙏
Thanks for doing and sharing such a nice & scenic tour. I'm thinking to buy a bike for commuting to work. Looking at some moderate to higher end gravel bike options. Wondering if there are any tax deductions bike riders in Sydney (in general Australia) can claim on the purchase of bicycle or assisting equipment (e.g. bike computers or tail lights)?
Hey mate. Yeah definitely should. I used to commute everyday by bike into the city. I don't think there are any deductions unless it's specifically related to your work. I not too sure though so best to ask an accountant. Cheers!
@ssydneycycling may i know if theres a bike rental shop near the harbour?
안녕하세요 혹시 해안가쪽으로 울릉공쪽이나 다른 추천해주실만한 코스 있을까요?
안녕하세요. NSW Coastline Cycleway 있어요. Thirroul Beach 에서 시작하시면 됩니다. 😀
