I had a 2015 ED that I deleted at 42k because I couldn't keep it out of the dealership. I used a GDE off road tune and a straight pipe from the turbo back. I ran that truck for over 310k and NEVER had an engine light. My business outgrew the truck and I needed to tow heavier. The truck was like night and day different after the delete and tune. It was a great truck I did water pump every 100k and in tank fuel pump every 130k. I got 162k on the first set of brakes and it almost needed brakes when I sold it. I only ever ran lubrimoly toptech 4200 oil with a qt of lucas synthetic stabilizer. after the EGR delete the oil looked like new for 4k miles after oil changes. Changed oil when dash said 30% left- about 10k. At 310k there was no blow-by. I ran 285/70's and I got 27-29MPG like clock work, but I don't speed. Maybe 5 over. If I'd get into the throttle (almost WOT) with 3,000 or more pounds on the trailer it would smoke pretty good. You'll find you need to shut the truck off at most drive through's. It's not a Cummins, but I towed 7535lbs(scaled it) plus tongue weight from Ohio across PA on I-80 with cruise set at 65 and it pulled all the hills on 80 easily. Got 15.4mpg for the trip. The Cummins won't do that. My ED was a great truck. It was extremely comfortable and NO road or drivetrain vibrations ever. At 310k it had the original shocks on it. I drove it to Western Colorado MANY times pulling a 6x12 enclosed trailer very much loaded. Oh I also changed transmission, transfercase, and diffs oil at 130k intervals with redline fluids and it dropped my temps about 10 degrees. If you're following that the 130k mile service interval is an expensive one. Waterpump and fuel pump bought at the local dealership. quick tip if you do the water pump you don't get all the o-rings you need with the pump. DO NOT let your water pump go more than 100k all of mine had NASTY cracked o-rings at that interval. I have no idea how they didn't leak. I got lucky. Don't press your luck. Good luck.
I also use GDE engine & trans tunes. Love the turbo brake and cruise control improvements for towing. I changed the water pump at 350 K on one and 415k on another one when they were weeping. $700 for the Mopar one $550 for the new aftermarket one. Used “Eco Delete” to delete the EGR cooler on both. I tow Airstream travel trailers commercially. I change the rear differential fluid every 50 K and the transmission fluid every time 100K. At 700k I had first transmission problem and had to swap in a salvage yard unit as it was more cost effective. Used trans had 80k and I’ve put on another 85k since no issues.
@@RICARDOALVALAN No I got 700k out of the original transmission before having the first issue with it. Low coolant from a leaking EGR cooler (that I didn’t need since I had a tune hence now the “no eco”cooler delete) caused it to push a head gas at 371k miles. The replacement crate engine went 423k miles before it heat fatigued cracked a head. I’m now on my 2nd & final crate motor. I’m hoping it goes 500k. I think that’s good for a reasonably priced fuel efficient disposable motor. The truck has 835,000 miles. Vern, you wouldn't recognize me but I remember you from the Ram 1500 Diesel forum. Glad to see you're still around and enjoying the truck. But I'm leaning toward mrtuning for the delete.

When you got the EGR block up kit and downpipe and it come with detailed instructions on how to install it? I have stage one tune as of right now. I got stage 2 sitting here waiting to put on lol
Hello. I'm thinking about doing a stage I or stage II delete on my 2017 Ram 1500 eco diesel. Did you replace the OEM tuner with another tuner? What tuner did you replace it with? Does the tuner prevent the check engine light or any other emission warning light from coming on when you did the engine delete? If not, what did you do to prevent those lights from coming on? Do you have a manufacture and part number and who sells it? If doing a stage II engine delete, do I need to replace the exhaust, or can I keep my existing exhaust? Thanks!

Did your tune fully “shutoff” the EGR? Or , did you have to remove any of that or sensors. Mine is their DPF codes like crazy. Stuck in bad, bad limp mode.
Yes just a leveling kit and had 20x12 with -51 offset with 33-12.50 tires. Rubbed a bit in full lock on the inner plastic but easy to trim. I've since purchased 20x10 with 285-60 tires that I'm much happier with.

Just curious what problems you might of had that led up to your delete? I currently have a 2016 ED with 82000 miles and throwing pd0299 and pd 026d codes with a service electronic throttle into limp mode. Seems like a lot of people that do the deletes get rid of all these issues.

The new ecodiesels 2020+ have a different ecm so the only way to tune is either ship yours out to the tuner, or get a duplicate and get that one tuned. But since their benchflashed then essentially the dealer wont find out if you revert it back to stock and bring it in

I live in a State were we must take our vehicles through emissions testing every 2 years to renew our tags. So hypothetically, if I get an Eco diesel and delete it. Will they catch me when I go through emissions testing. I have a gas vehicle now, but I think they just plug into your computer terminal, nothing up the exhaust pipe to my knowledge. But could be different with diesels.
Most likely fail an emission state. But a stage 1 tune could be a good choice because you leave everything intact and just a tune.
Do you have a 1 piece drive line?
Did Mrtuning send the tuner as well or did you have to buy that separate?
Yes they sent it
What all was done to truck I am about to get one and looking to Egr delete I am new to the diesel truck world
What part of Ohio you from? I'm looking at a ecodiesel today. I'm around stark county
I'm from central Ohio
What year is your truck? Will this set work for a 2015, also what’s the average cost to do this, also do you have the link to buy?
Get on the Facebook ecodiesel groups and ask for Chris Munro he is the dealer for MRtuning and this setup ran me about $1100
Mine is a 2014 and yes would work on your truck!

Thanks for the video! I’m picking up my 2020 rebel ED and I’m wondering the best way to tune/performance mod while maintaining my 125k warranty. I’ve considered getting a backup (clone) ECM. Any advice would be appreciated
I’ve been wondering the same thing.
The new ecodiesels 2020+ have a different ecm so the only way to tune is either ship yours out to the tuner, or get a duplicate and get that one tuned. But since their benchflashed then essentially the dealer wont find out if you revert it back to stock and bring it in
Did you also do the Trans Tune from MRTurning?
No not yet.
What shop did you use? I’m in illinois and having an impossible time finding a shop willing to do it. Ohio is a quick drive away
Have to do it yourself. It is illegal to do per the epa. I've actually received a call from them over this video 😂
@@weirdbeardfishin anything come of that phone call we should be worried about for ourselves lol
