I got my grail pen (MontBlanc 149) when I received my PhD in 1983, but it was so fancy I was hesitant to use it. I've finally gotten the appropriate ink, and I am using it and loving having it on my desk.
Hey there, I've always considered fountain pens to be somehow better than ballpoints. I guess it's because the ink flows so smoothly and it just looks spectacular. Also you don't have to push so hard on the paper. My dream fountain pen is some eyedropper with fine nib and loads of ink capacity

I am new into fountain pen collecting and I have been eyeing many brands, like Lamy and Pilot. I already own a Safari ballpoint, but this fountain pen variant really caught my eye and I think it would be an amazing addition to my collection! I definitely think it replaces my current grail pen, the Pilot Heritage 92. Everything about the Heritage 92, from its flow to the transparent design gives it such a unique and firm look. I love it. I had a look at the Leonardo site after seeing your birthday pen, and I think the perfect pen for me is basically the purple version of that one, the "MZG Juma dragon skin Purple". It looks amazing in both colours. Maybe one day.
Hello! A few months ago is when I got into expensive pens and pencils. I wanted to get both a pen and a pencil that would last for decades, all because I saw a video of a guy that had his rotring 600 (a lead holder) for like 8 years, and you could see glorious but suttle scratches on it because of use, and I too wanted to have something like that, so I bought a rotring 800 (I know that for many its just a waste of money, but again, what I wanted is something I could even pass to my sons 30 years from now) and wanted to buy the Lamy Safari too, but it was out of the stock on the store where I bought the rotring, so I still use my normal $2 pen. I havent found a pen I say "wow, thats my future grail pen"... I guess bolt action pens are cool, but fountain pens look so unique. Hello, I just stumbled on your video from my recommended! I've been researching fountain pens these past few weeks. I recently just started a new job and have been wanting to commemorate it by purchasing my first fountain pen but have always had a difficult time deciding to execute on purchases like these, since they're so many options. My mom and grandmother always loved fountain pens so I thought it would be awesome to follow in the tradition. My mom's favorite pen is her mont blanc pen that has a metal snake wrapped around it (I'm not sure the model or what it's called). I don't really have a grail pen...YET, but I'm excited to get my first fountain pen. I'm glad I found your channel and will continue to look out for your videos in the future. When I saw for the first time Visconti's arched clip, it just screams luxury to me, that why my Grail pen (that I still don't have) is a Visconti Homo Sapiens Bronze Age.
My grail pen is actually a LAMY Safari :-) I used my dad’s for a while and it’s such a great pen. I’m a broke college student, so LAMYs feel a bit more realistic to save up for compared to the super high end FPs. Maybe someday one of those pens will be my holy grail, but for now I’m just dreaming of a Safari. Pink is my favorite color so I would be very grateful to receive this pen!
Hello! I actually have been slowly making a collection of mechanical pencils and I ended up finding out about the lamy safari. I noticed that its more popular variant was the fountain pen version and I fell down a rabbit hole of fountain pens. I don’t yet own one but would love to have a lamy safari as my first. This video actually came up on my recommended which is so cool and I really love how nice this community is. I'm currently in college and I found one on the floor in one of my labs. It was so nice that it made me want to try other quality pencils. What's your favorite?
@@welee_9 I love the graph gear 1000 .5 and the delguard lx. Graphgear I started with so I’ll never not love it. And the other ones a more recent favorite in the last few years
current collection includes a platinum preppy and a muji aluminum, and I love them both! My grail would be the pilot falcon. I love to draw with fountain pens, and I've seen artists online use the falcon's semi-flex for line variation. I've also seen folks flip the nib over onto the flat part to fill in large areas with ink. Ahh the falcon seems like such a beautiful and useful art pen!! one day I'll hopefully try one ^^
The only fountain pen I've had is a Pilot Varsity, and I want to get more into the hobby! For my first real fountain pen, I've narrowed it down to either the TWSBI Eco or the Lamy Safari!

Honestly I would love that pen! My Lamy vista is my daily driver workhorse, however that color specifically matches perfectly to one of my favorite keycap sets, GMK 8008 and would definitely go well with my setup, unfortunately currently between jobs and cant really justify buying pens, so it would be great to not have the FOMO on this limited edition pen. My current grail pen would probably be a Bronze Kaweko Sport!
I don't have a favorite one because I haven't been able to try these types of pens yet, because I can't afford anything this nice. I'd sure like to though! I watch a lot of pen and stationary reviews and I keep hearing about this one. I'm a first-year neuroscience student using financial aid to pay for my schooling and money is pretty tight. The best pen I currently have is a sharpie s gel pen lol

My grail pen is a Pelikan 140. I always turn to vintage when I get into something. The lamy safari was my first and only pen. Never had one but i have been eyeing to have one, either a Lamy or Sailor dipton dip pen. I also saw online a sailor ink which is the name is Dark Cave it is a gorgeous dark green with some shimmer in it. That pink accent on a pen is surprisingly beautiful, it’s like someone wearing an all black suit and tie but their socks is a magenta. It adds quirk to a something that was simple into something else.
Nice man! I was a gel pen til I die guy. I put my co-worker on to JetPens. Surprisingly he decided to buy a fountain pen. It was a Lamy CP1. I knew about the Lamy brand as my first Lamy Pen was a Pico but it was cool to see a “real” fountain pen in person. My co-worker peaked my interest. Months later I told him that j was thinking about getting a fountain pen. He told me to take his pen home for the weekend to test drive. It was a charcoal Lamy Safari. I fell in love. I started my search for a Lamy and it just so happened that they were releasing a special edition called Charged Green. That would become my first fountain pen. For me my grail would be a pen that doesn’t exist “yet”. It would be a Jonathan Brooks x Sailor PGS. He makes the coolest blanks and I really like my Goulet Sailor Stealth Purple PGS . It’s my favorite pen. My daily writer. Purple is one of my favorite colors so I hope I win 😊
What a cool story. And awesome of the seller to cut you a deal! I haven't tried a Lamy Safari yet, and to be honest, I'm not fussed with this colour. However I would love to win this to penable my Mum who loves purple 💜😊. My grail pen (hard to choose just one 😅) would be the Goulet exclusive Benu Euphoria, 'Matcha', the Conklin American 'Four Quad' wood pen or an Esterbrook! Ideally their 'Sapphire' or 'Gold rush Frontier Green'.
Recently got into fountian pens from using one a friend of mine has. My hand writing has never really been something I've been proud of but I felt like that pen kinda made me take more time and write better. Since then I've decided to try and get into them. Was gonna get a safari but since money is tight right now I couldn't really justify even the $20 for just the pen. Settled on like a $3 dollar on so fingers crossed but currently I'd be more than happy with a safari to get me really started on not only just getting into the hobby but also just kinda working on having hand writing I can be proud of.
For a long time the only pens I used were jinhao because they were cheap. I just got my first nice pen, also a lamy safari, which had been a grail pen for a long time.

i just got a moleskine art version thats like 150 gsm i think that would be perfect for my everyday journaling
honestly i would love this pen because ive always been in love with foutain pens i just dont have the money for them.
Never had one but i have been eyeing to have one, either a Lamy or Sailor dipton dip pen. I also saw online a sailor ink which is the name is Dark Cave it is a gorgeous dark green with some shimmer in it.
That pink accent on a pen is surprisingly beautiful, it’s like someone wearing an all black suit and tie but their socks is a magenta. It adds quirk to a something that was simple into something else.

Nice man! I was a gel pen til I die guy. I put my co-worker on to JetPens. Surprisingly he decided to buy a fountain pen. It was a Lamy CP1. I knew about the Lamy brand as my first Lamy Pen was a Pico but it was cool to see a “real” fountain pen in person. My co-worker peaked my interest. Months later I told him that j was thinking about getting a fountain pen. He told me to take his pen home for the weekend to test drive. It was a charcoal Lamy Safari. I fell in love. I started my search for a Lamy and it just so happened that they were releasing a special edition called Charged Green. That would become my first fountain pen. For me my grail would be a pen that doesn’t exist “yet”. It would be a Jonathan Brooks x Sailor PGS. He makes the coolest blanks and I really like my Goulet Sailor Stealth Purple PGS . It’s my favorite pen. My daily writer. Purple is one of my favorite colors so I hope I win 😊

What a cool story. And awesome of the seller to cut you a deal! I haven't tried a Lamy Safari yet, and to be honest, I'm not fussed with this colour. However I would love to win this to penable my Mum who loves purple 💜😊. My grail pen (hard to choose just one 😅) would be the Goulet exclusive Benu Euphoria, 'Matcha', the Conklin American 'Four Quad' wood pen or an Esterbrook! Ideally their 'Sapphire' or 'Gold rush Frontier Green'.
Recently got into fountian pens from using one a friend of mine has. My hand writing has never really been something I've been proud of but I felt like that pen kinda made me take more time and write better. Since then I've decided to try and get into them. Was gonna get a safari but since money is tight right now I couldn't really justify even the $20 for just the pen. Settled on like a $3 dollar on so fingers crossed but currently I'd be more than happy with a safari to get me really started on not only just getting into the hobby but also just kinda working on having hand writing I can be proud of.

For a long time the only pens I used were jinhao because they were cheap. I just got my first nice pen, also a lamy safari, which had been a grail pen for a long time.
Always wanted a fountain pen since i was a little kid but never had the budget for a real one. Today im going out to find if there's any cheap fountain pens.
Awesome story, pity that where I live Lamys are not so common if not I might've had a similar story! Mine like many others starts with the Platinum Preppy. Currently my grail pen is a simple Hongdian Black Forest/Blue Wish Pen with the different nib units so I can swap!

2 daya ago i had a idea to order a fountain pen, i ordered a china pen to check out and try fountain pens. It came out just yesterday and ive been in loved with it.
I now fell into the rabbit hole of fountain pens and as a beginner my Grail pen rn is actually a LAMY Safari!, the renown praise has caught my attention as i started my research 2 days ago!.
If i was to receive this it'll surely propell my start to the Fountain pen hobby!.
