A traveler's notebook, the inserts let me divide up subject areas easily, a drawer's light/hard pencil, an arch foam eraser, a black fineliner, a Tombow dual brush pen in tan, a brush glue for ephemera one picks up anywhere, a white gel pen/correction tape. That's the basic stuff, maybe small scissors too.
Also, to protect your stationary (and documents), The Container Store has "waterproof" plastic file boxes. The firefighters brought mine out to me so I could call my insurance. It had survived the fire & water.
Honestly since I've been slow to build my collection, I'm actually quite content with what I have. Campus paper, an Energel, a Kakuno, and a few mildliners in my favorite colors. I don't really need anything more, and a lot of stuff I don't even want. I have colors COORDINATED.
Honestly same I’m fine with my current stuff even tho I don’t use it a lot only a black energel and mildliners with a colored pen to go with it- however I do want the limited edition pikachu poker sarasa pens because I’ve been wanting it for a long time now
Omg this DID happen to me once! Someone stole my car but then dumped it somewhere-and left with my backpack that had my journals, pen bags, and sketchbook-I took it mad personally and thought the universe was telling me not to art or write 😭

An electrical fire destroyed multiple notebooks and all my sketches when I was in college so this video hit a little too close to home. I was devastated.
Late 2019 we lost our home to a fire. Burnt to the ground and we lost everything. The real kicker was months before we had damage due to a hurricane and we're making plans to rebuild. We didn't have much space to take all our things to the relatives we were staying with until then, so we had scraped together what we could to get storage bins and sort through what we could salvage, and then that fire happened. It's been over 2 years now, but I still find it incredibly numbing when I think of picking up a certain book or my favorite pen. I don't have it. All the out of print manga from years of collecting gone, no baby pictures and videos I had of my late uncle lost media. 😭 I'm forever grateful we weren't home but still, it's something I don't think I'll ever truly be over. But to answer the question: I would start with pens!
@@NandiniCXO Thank you so much for your kind words. My family and I are happy, healthy and safe. We were able to get pictures from friends and family to copy and I have since gotten more new pens, paints and books! So all is good :O)
I am a pen/pad/stationary lover! I have one daughter and a granddaughter who are the same. They steal my stuff!!!! I love Jetpens channel, I find a lot of new goods for my family to steal. ❤
Don’t worry Stephanie I say Onvelopes too! Hi Guys would it be possible for you to do a video on how to take care of your pens, and how to dispose of the inks and shells of pens once they are done? a stationary hoarder like myself could really use some tips thanks ❤
This reminds me of having to choose which stationery came with me in my suitcase, knowing the shipping container for a transatlantic relocation could take months. Or worse case scenario could get lost. It's an interesting exercise to choose what is essential. (Oh, and I totally say ONvelopes too.)
Honestly? This did happen to me after I was thrown out of the place I was staying. I also didn't have a lot of money at the time so the first thing I purchased after I mourned my collection (that took months if not years to build) was some cheap notebooks and some colored pens. While it wasn't my stamps and stickers, at least I could add color to things.
@@arapaimagold8088 sorry. I never got the notification of this reply. Sort of. I wasn't allowed back in to the house. They bagged everything and put it outside. I went through this after Ida of last year. Honestly not the reminder I needed, but my first stationary purchases (after finishing home repairs) were Pilot Juice Up Gel Pens
I'm so sorry you went through that. We had a house fire a decade ago, and I still occasionally miss some of the little things that were irreplaceable. I think the first stationery items I replaced was really cheap loose leaf paper, a binder and some ballpoint pens, because I was a student at the time, and couldn't afford to wait for insurance to come through before getting those essentials.

For me, it'd probably be a lot of Uniball pens: Air and Air Micro, Vision Needle, and One in multiple sizes and colors. A Pentel Sharp Kerry cause I like having a capped mechanical pencil. Then some Tombow brush pens(hard/soft and color), and a Tombow white eraser, but also an eraser putty to lift off marks in drawings. And then sketchbooks, manila files, binder clips, pencil bins and bags...
A pilot kakuno and some blue black diamine ink, a notebook with tomoe river paper, a whole color pack of pilot G2s and another full color pack of pilot frixions, and an exceed dot grid notebook.
This video is also helpful for people just starting stationary collections. That being said, I think I'd replace my fountain pen first. My favorite kind of pen to write with, hands down.
Of course Signo DX, since we only have little time until December to get all the colors that still in stock. Next year they're gonna slash lots of colors from the lineup.
The internet is a strange and wonderful place. I never would have thought there would be a stationary Fandom, and the need for and entier RUclips channel to cater to them.
And-I felt really silly when I started watching these videos yesterday when I should have been doing something else. But the third video I watched? It solved a major problem for me. It helped me think of a way of keeping records which will probably improve my life for years to come.
I would absolutely buy the Pilot Color Eno in soft blue. I bought it after you guys featured it in another video and now it's my favorite pencil to draw with. I would also get a Pilot Kakuno as a basic fountain pen but I am liking my Jinhao 80. For a mechanical pencil, nothing can beat my long discontinued Paper mate PhD so I'd have to find a new favorite or go used.
With my fountain pen collection, I would be utterly miserable for a while. I don't know if I could afford to replace my Pilot Vanishing Point, Pilot Custom 74, or my Lamy 2000!
First thing would be both of the vintage Zebra Sarasas sets, the neutral and natural Zebra Mildliner sets (I know they're the same but I wanted the copper, cut me some slack) a 0.3mm Zebra Sarasa in black, the Kuretake AI liner, a few 0.3mm mechanical pencils (I lose pencils too frequently to be picky on brand) and the Uni Pin 10-pen bundle plus a few extra 005 pens, and this one random 160gsm bullet journal I snagged off of Amazon. Everything else I feel like I could probably do without, but those are important.
yes I'm a huge fan of the propus highlighters and think they are underrated. There is also a very nice pen which was a collaboration with post-it ( I don't exactly remember the name) but you had a ballpoint + highlighter end, and small post-it page marks in the clip. Love it.
Kuretake dot markers are close to my heart ❤ Also, the vintage Sarasa gel pens! I ike the leuchtterm notebooks, pentel fude touch brush pens, factis softer eraser or uni super eraser, faber-castell pitt brush markers, and don’t forget the zebra clickart markers ❤! The only thing I don’t have an opinion on is mechanical pencils *shrug* any is fine.
for pens, I'd start with restocking vintage sarasa plus 1 black energel retractable. Then I'd rebuy a TN and get at least a tomoe paper refill and grid refill. For marker/highlight, I'd restock on tombow dual warm yellow and 098 maybe. For washi tape, I'd get white, black, brown grid. Anything else I can live without or can wait.
25 set of stabilo point 88 fineliners, A5 hardcover leuchtterm1917 notebook with graph/dots, pastel dual brush pens, the Sanrio set of mildliners, and a .1mm black micron
I hate that I got this video right when I have to move. I had to make the tough choice to leave my whole stationary collection behind.😢😢😅 but it allowed me to look at it from a different light. I can start a whole new collection.
There will be no replacement for all of my limited edition pens. Some of them simply aren't available anymore. The same can be said about the old journals, planners and sketchbooks. So many memories will be lost. No amount of fancy newcomers could ever cover the loss. It will also cost me an arm and a leg if I needed to replace those leather covers, fountain pens, inks, art supplies, etc.
I say "ONvelope", but either is correct. (The " on" pronunciation is probably because the word is French in origin.). And as a must-have, for sure it's some kind of rainbow pencil (7 colors in one pencil lead) and an appropriate manual sharpener. Also, a Pilot Metropolitan fountain pen ... okay, three of them: one each for purple, turquoise, and sort of a sky blue. And a sketch book, and a journal. And some kind of toy for my desk, just because!
Totally random, but would you guys consider talking about the history of 'blue black' ink please? Before running across your website, I had never heard of this color, and now I'm obsessed. Where/when did this color come about? Also, what do you all think about disc bound planners? Thanks!
I'm currently awaiting my JetPens order but everything else I have either came from Walmart or other stationary websites that are great with the stickers and washi tapes but not so much a trusted source for other things like pens and pencils. As such, the JetPens order would be my most treasured haul and were I to lose them...well, I went a bit cheap but those cheap things added up to my most expensive stationary order to date, so I would be upset at the loss of the stuff 😂 I have always said I'm not a planner kind of person, but you know what? I think I'm going to either turn one of my exisiting journals into a planner or buy one of the many planners on your site. I buy so many things for hobbies and then just stop. I got Rosetta Stone to help learn Japanese (I actually bought the WHOLE set! Every language offered! And yet I don't use it! For shame). I have a scrapbooking journal I barely use (though I want more things to scrapbook with as my supplies is rather limited right now). And perhaps the worst offender...Animal Crossing! Animal Crossing is practically a second job to me because of all of the things needed to progress. It is a very time-consuming game. But I'm going to have to settle on only playing for an hour a day. Actually, no...the REAL worst offender is RUclips! In place of not using any other social media site or streaming service (aside from Crunchyroll), RUclips has become a huge time-sink for me. Sketching out time of which I can and cannot watch RUclips is going to be really hard, but I look forward to seeing what progress I make in other things when I'm not binging videos on here. So yeah, if all of my stationary were lost, I'd buy myself a planner 😂 And a good pen.
I mostly only use a hobonichi weeks, uni-ball one in red, green, blue and black, mojini highlighters and some planner stickers from etsy. I have a lot more, like fountain pens and and ink and other notebooks, but those are the only things i would replace right away. God forbid i ever have to replace my art supplies though. The arches paper, water color paints, alcohol markers, pencils, omg it would cost so much
I was so confused when you started chastising yourself for saying ONvelopes ("Is that not how it's pronounced?!") I pronounce it like Stephanie does and everyone I know pronounces it that way too, so I am legitimately confused now???
I did loose all my stuff after a boiler explosion. I got a Kindle to replace my books and stationary I buy little by little. I won’t be buying an expensive fountain pens though. Everything in my new apartment is brand spanking new, so that’s kinda weird.
i would buy the 2 ringed kokuyo binder, kurutoga pencil AND zelguard. then i would get my best friend energel (pental?) and an arch eraser. and for the paper its gotta be graphed AND the calendar thing. i think that comes out to be around 30 bucks which is nice! i mean im assuming i still have my pencil case. . .
i am a young stationary lover mostly about fountain pens, recently i lost my pouch in my school, it hit me hard, i had my birthday fountain pen in it and my favorite hero pen.
im honestly envious of the gap between my version of "affordable" coz these are highly expensive in my country and there's not a channel ik right now that cater to what my country has lmao, at least in the quality jetpens has with the videos and promotions
I actually have lost all my stationary and craft supplies and everything else from a house fire! Some things are replaceable but others like my Grandmother’s fountain pens are not.😢
I lost my pencil pouch in 2016. Replacing all my favorite pens, highlighters and pencils for everyday carry cost me a small fortune. However, I was returning to Denmark soon. So I got my Pilot twist erase II pencils, one in green, purple and blue, pilot click erasers pens, before I left. In the end I think I spent amount 75 USD replacing these items. I think the first things I would replace is my Apple Pencil, my pens, my fountain pens, my mechanical pencils followed by notebooks for notes. Now if you said I lost all my planners, I would just scream. As an autistic collector that costs me a small fortune every year.
I would die if I lost all my stationary but my absolute essentials would be, 1. Notebooks and binders 2. Black, blue and red ball pens (seperate) 3. A multipen 4. A wooden pencil 5. An eraser 6. A planner
What would YOU buy first if you lost your whole stationery collection? Tell us in the comments!

That's a legit pronunciation of envelopes.
Also, any multi pen recommendations for people who like a wider tip, but gel?
I mostly only use a hobonichi weeks, uni-ball one in red, green, blue and black, mojini highlighters and some planner stickers from etsy.
I have a lot more, like fountain pens and and ink and other notebooks, but those are the only things i would replace right away.
God forbid i ever have to replace my art supplies though. The arches paper, water color paints, alcohol markers, pencils, omg it would cost so much
Love you Jet Pens!!
I was so confused when you started chastising yourself for saying ONvelopes ("Is that not how it's pronounced?!")
I pronounce it like Stephanie does and everyone I know pronounces it that way too, so I am legitimately confused now???
This is such a relatable video for me. I have lost so much of my stationery and I have only got uni jetstream.
I would stock up on uni leadholders and 2mm lead and get some neox lead. Some sumo erasers. That’s about it.
I say "onvelepe" and wondered why that was a blooper at first until you explained. I like to think we say it in a class way.
You forgot the number one thing for if you suddenly lose your stationary collection: tears
I did loose all my stuff after a boiler explosion. I got a Kindle to replace my books and stationary I buy little by little. I won’t be buying an expensive fountain pens though. Everything in my new apartment is brand spanking new, so that’s kinda weird.
i would buy the 2 ringed kokuyo binder, kurutoga pencil AND zelguard. then i would get my best friend energel (pental?) and an arch eraser. and for the paper its gotta be graphed AND the calendar thing. i think that comes out to be around 30 bucks which is nice! i mean im assuming i still have my pencil case. . .
I say “on”velopes. … you’re not alone lol
Hahaha this basically happened to me, I lost all of my really nice pens and scrapbooking stuff and it really sucked -_-
i am a young stationary lover mostly about fountain pens, recently i lost my pouch in my school, it hit me hard, i had my birthday fountain pen in it and my favorite hero pen.
When I saw twice feel special I was shockeddd like ive been a fan of twice since I was 9 years old and i started watching jetpens when im 10
Now this is the content I’ve been waiting for! 🎉🎉🎉
the outtakes were so cute ❤
i say ONvelopes too lol. sounds a smidge fancier 😑
(Yes, I say "onvelopes." My head is hanging in shame.)
Be careful of storage places /moving companies .They lost/stole/misplaced a majority of my things and boy was I upset . Replacement of…….😢
MidoriMD grid block, Kokuyo Campus, Sarasa Mark-On/ Sarasa Dry and mildliner mild-yellow would be repurchased immediately
from now on its ONVELOPE!
im honestly envious of the gap between my version of "affordable" coz these are highly expensive in my country and there's not a channel ik right now that cater to what my country has lmao, at least in the quality jetpens has with the videos and promotions
Tombow Dual Brush Pens 💕
I literally put an airtag in my pencil case 💀
I actually have lost all my stationary and craft supplies and everything else from a house fire! Some things are replaceable but others like my Grandmother’s fountain pens are not.😢
unrelated but that journal part w feel special omgg
LOL. I feel that TWICE spread. Whoever stans over there, they did a good job!
I would buy this but i live on the Philippines
OMG TWICE AT 2:10 ???????
I get all new stationary collections all the time, but I still have the previous ones. I have a problem
Love love, love my Hi Tc C Coletto!
WOW >>>>> Thank you
Lots of people say "on" velopes!
I literally have the Uni jetsream 4 in one multi pen
Your channel provide good knowledge about stationery God bless
I love my pentel .7 metal mechanical pencil and copic multiline brush, if id lose them i think i would give up and live in a hole somewhere
Rite in the Rain notebooks and a standard number 2 pencil
I can lose everything just not my favorite black pilot g2, my binder notebook, planner and mechanical pencil
I would die if I lost all my stationary but my absolute essentials would be,
1. Notebooks and binders
2. Black, blue and red ball pens (seperate)
3. A multipen
4. A wooden pencil
5. An eraser
6. A planner
