* Thanks for all of the camera angles, Laura! I know it takes a lot of extra work to set up the camera in all of those areas and it makes your projects take a lot longer. Please know the different angles are appreciated! * Also, working fertilizer into the ground where a plant is already growing used to be a mystery to me. I couldn't understand how I could use a shovel to dig up the earth to work in the fertilizer when the roots of the plant are just under the surface. Then, enter LAURA into my life! Just "scratch" it into the surface of the soil. So simple! Over the years of watching you, I have learned so many helpful things. I love learning from you! ❤ 🌼🌷🌲🌷🌼❤
I love to watch you work because you work so efficiently and effectively! I learn great techniques from you and I bet you don’t realize you even do it. We are the same size and I can’t always use the same long handled tools or methods as taller people do. Today, my jaw dropped when you raked the shrub bits into a pile, laid the kangaroo bag on its side, straddled it and pulled the pile into the bag😮 💡💡💡🌟🌟🌟BRILLIANT! What a back saving move! I also pay attention to the long handled tools you use and buy them. So much more comfortable and lighter than my old 6 foot man size ones! I can get more done with less pain and effort 👏👍🏻🌸. You totally ROCK GARDENING ❤
Yep, we all need to think of our backs and other body parts that can be permanently damaged by straining and lifting. Wish I had realized this earlier!
Hello from zone 7a Southeast Missouri. We inherited our home from my husband’s family originally owned by his grandparents. Lots of older shrubs, trees and flowerbeds. Watching your videos has made me feel so brave when it comes to pruning and/or moving plants. Thank you for sharing such detailed information!
I love your pruning videos. Your camera angles with your pruning directions leave ni guess work as to where is best to cut. I use your videos as tutorials for my husband. He is now a reformed shrub mangler thanks to you! He's thankful to finally be out of the doghouse! 😁
Nothing so satisfying as Spring garden cleanup! I learn so much by watching your cuts and angles, thanks for taking the time to set up close-ups, mid shots and overall appearance shots!! Can't lie, I'm already dying for a garden tour!! Loved everything you showed here. Would love to see what more perennials look like when they're first waking up in early Spring.
Laura, I followed your pruning and fertilizing techniques for climbing roses this year. Oh my I have beautiful roses. These roses have never bloomed and I was going to pull them out but decided to give them one more chance. Thank you so much. I was just so excited to see so many blooms. ❤️
Wow, what a difference! Looks so delightful now. Love the blue and creamy yellow combinations with touches of pink. Off to do my containers today. Thank you for your enthusiasm in every video!!
You mean she gets down in the dirt like regular people when they're cleaning up their Garden? She's fortunate she has all the special tools to make it a little easier than the rest of us. Not to say she doesn't work hard cuz she absolutely does
I'm going to look that up. I have a ton of rose bushes over 15. I have three climbers all the rest subzero and ramblers and other types. I adore roses.
Settling into our first home & have already planted a David Austin carding mill rose, supertunias, lime light hydrangeas, arbor vitaes, butterfly bushes & MORE! We have been gardening on a small apartment patio for the last 6 years so we are thrilled. Thank you so much for the inspiration & education!
Laura it appears that Every Single day of the week you get up and work outside in your gardens. Do you Ever have days that it's not what you want to do?? Like take a day off ?? GA sure has inspired me and my friends!! I now have new people in my life because I have found we have gardening in common...Its been SO fun. Thank you !
Good morning, Laura, from Windermere Florida, zone 9b USA 🇺🇸 We had a last cold 🥶 47° morning yesterday and Wow, that felt cold for Florida in April. My plants and outside Red Wiggler bins were shivering! Happy Gardening and Vermicomposting Everyone 🪱🌿👩🌾👍
I put in 30 limelight’s in a hedge on my “new property” all inspired by Laura. 😊 First time pruning this week and this video was another good tutorial, perfect timing! Laura keep’em coming, you can’t even imagine how much beauty you are creating!
hello everyone! keep smiling, keep your head up, get out and garden (even just for a walk) it's great for your soul! hope everyone is having a great day!
Wow! See how do you not smile when looking at those gorgeous daffodils? Love the stroll down the brick road. Ps. I agree with you that bush by your home looks much better cut back and opens up the side walkway.
I did this same pruning method on my camelia this spring. As I was laying on the ground and felt so silly getting all up in that bush, I thought there must be a better way. Then I see Laura doing the same thing and it made me feel so much better! We do what we have to, to get the job done. #letsgetafterit
I hope you do a bulb tour, Of all those hundreds of bulbs you have planted. Those daffs were gorgeous. I can't imagine the drifts of the various tulips.😁
Hi Laura, thanks for showing updates to how you prune various shrubs. A few years ago you pruned your royal raindrops crabapple tree. Do you think you could show another video of how that is growing and how you would prune it now that it’s a few years older?
Ooh, your cats are gonna be bummed! 😂 That was a great little hideout! Speaking of cats, who was that little black and white kitty peaking around the post at the beginning?? I LOVE watching pruning videos like this… you give me confidence to do the same on my shrubs that definitely need the same treatment! ❤️
I love your “rake and stuff” method into your garden bin! We own a lawn and landscape company in east central Indiana and I’ve incorporated your technique! Saves a lot of time!
Yes! I could be accused of strattling a kangaroo bag or raking into a garbage lined with a garbage bag. Its pretty efficient. Just saying. This makes me smile and giggle, just a little.
It's never enough! 60 more minutes please! Laura, you are my favourite RUclipsr! I can't pay attention to anyone else! So could you please just Go Pro your life 🙏🤪 P.S. the the stepping stone comment from Aaron made me LOL! Looking forward to your next video 💚😃
Thank you so much for showing how to prune a butterfly bush. I planted some for the first time last year and I was afraid they were dead. Wasn’t quite sure what to do. The timing of this video is perfect!
Hi Guys! I get so much satisfaction watching you doing clean-up! It’s a favorite of mine also. I am so looking forward to this season and what you have in store. It makes it even more special now that you have two little helpers. Even if Samantha likes removing tags 🤣 and Benjamin with his tiny watering can! I just love their sweet faces.
I so enjoy watching you prune. One of my favorite gardening tasks is pruning. I love how pruning brings new growth and shape up unruly bushes, Very satisfying to have things tidy and compact.

You’re pruning project Your pruning projects are very helpful to me. I’m in zone 4, so a bit behind your zone. The videos are a helpful guide to what I need to do next!
I don't know about you all, but seeing Laura use her rake as a plunger to get all the branch debris into her pop-up bag was pretty awesome. I was just hoping it would hold up! Bravo, Laura. It looks awesome!
Only Laura could make pruning euonymus a fun job! Thanks for showing us solutions for every day projects. I feed off your energy! When we expect a big wind I go out and pick my freshly blooming tulips and daffs to enjoy them inside before they’re tattered.
I just planted some euonymus this year for the first time, and they are soo tiny. I hope one day they will be as big and beautiful as this one in Laura's garden. I love the shape of this bush after pruning.
Oh man!!! Euonymus grows SOOO FAST!!! At least in my area they do. I ended up pulling them all out. I am still stuck with some overgrown, burly looking grown cover evergreens, but those are SOOO deeply rooted, that I just hard trim them back every few years. Tomorrow is the day for their hard trim. This 70 yr old body has a hard time getting down on the ground & than getting up😵💫 Arthritis in all my joints & bad knees make things difficult. I sure wish I could do what you do!! My grandkids help when they aren't busy with school & sports. Love all the colors of flowers you have. I'm in San Diego,( the hottest part of San Diego) which we call East County. Get a stepping stone kit and make a stepping stone with Benjamin and put it on that round stone. 😊 You could use his handprint or Samantha's foot. Lots of fun stuff to use in them like glass gems, stain glass pieces, etc. You definitely need to add these to your garden! It will hold up better if you just have it as decor rather than walking on them.
Thank you for the pruning videos. I really enjoy watching those and I learn so much. It's amazing what that does for a space. Gardens also need to be decluttered. Thanks for all your help and inspiration for the garden.
I just love that willow, so magical looking! pruning is always so satisfying. That poor peony though seems crammed in that spot up under that evergreen.
Good morning, my husband and I passed through Ontario on two days ago (Saturday). On our way home (Vancouver 🇨🇦) from a month on vacation. I was so hoping to meet you as we stopped at Andrews. Unfortunately you were not there. We did have a nice look around and I felt like I have been there so many times from watching your videos. I knew my way around like a pro 😊. I did buy the sweetest 🐝 plant pot, it was on a shelf when you come in the door. Your parents have a beautiful garden centre. The staff were very friendly. My husband took a pic of me out front holding my pot. It made my day!! 😊 I also got a picture of your gazebo in the park, very cute. Your town was having a street fair? Anyway I just had to share and say I’m sorry to have missed meeting you…..
I am going to plant spring bulbs in pots like this. I have never been able to get bulbs through pressure from squirrels, bunnies, etc. This works perfect and so nice to be able to move them where you want them.

Yes indeed a kitty was hiding in there. At 4:23 the little Tuxedo cat came out of hiding. Bush looks great but now kitty needs to find a new hidy hole🤣
Laura, you are responsible for my discovery of gardening! You are SO good at guiding us newbies, and you give us confidence with your wonderful tips. Many of us are wondering if you would consider posting your great videos on rumble. Sadly, many of us can no longer use this current platform. We understand it would be a huge undertaking for you, and perhaps a time-consuming prospect; but we would SO appreciate it! We love you!
You inspired me I trimmed all my hydrangeas which I don’t always do! I love your energy would love to come visit your garden someday all my kiddos live in Boise
Hey Laura! I'm a huge fan. I was just thinking you should do a tree video in the summer. I always see big beautiful trees in the background and I wonder what they are. I know some of your trees give you trouble as far as pests go so maybe a couple of care tips can be included. With all the new tree additions I figured you could easily do a video just on your trees similar to that video you did in that parking lot. It was lots of fun to see all the trees. My husband and I are looking to buy our first home and I look at the outside just as much as the inside.I see lots trees planted right up near the house and I wonder what kind it is and if it's ruining the foundation. Anyways it was just a thought have a good day! :D
I would love that as well! I bought my property 2 years ago & it had zero trees on it! 2 years later, I still haven't decided on any to plant because there are so many I'm unsure what varities would he best. & theyre so expensive I dont want to purchase the wrong things!
Check with your local extension office or university with agriculture programs. They will have lots of information on what trees are best for your arrea, pros and cons. Its possible they will even have an arboretum where you can look at the trees. In my area, Utah State University has an amazing website for trees.
Much better! We've had some very strong winds here in North Texas lately, and I was worried about my weeping willow, too. So, I took after it with my loppers and got rid of a ton a branches, which may find themselves turned into a trellis here shortly. My husband was so impressed with how much better it looked, even though I thinned it out quite a bit. Now, we're enjoying it's beautiful shape and movement and hoping a lighter canopy will help keep it in the ground. It's my favorite tree. ~ Lisa
I love to see pruning and cleanup - something about this is so satisfying. I think a nice rock on that garden stone area would add interest (agree with Aaron’s suggestion). 👏👏
Hello! My goodness that looks a lot better! As soon as Laura cut the bottom brunches of the first bush I said in the same time with her....it can breathe!!!!....so funny, started laughing🤣🤣🤗❤🤗
So encouraging and inspirational to see the fresh spring plants 🌱 🪴 coming up! Thanks for sharing Aaron & Laura! We’re getting some decent weather this week in NY and I’m going to start cleaning up. A bit late but better late than never! 🙌🏽🥰
I love this video. Never would have thought to put the popup bag between my legs and shove the mess all in. Gotta try that! Haha. Such an improvement after you cleaned up that first bush. The Weeping Willow is amazing!

Nice job, Laura. The euonymus looks so much better and the structure of the trunk is quite attractive. Love the white birch near it. The willow is so beautiful. I noticed one side is higher. Perhaps taking out that branch would lessen the threat of wind damage and the canopy would more even when it fills in. It would be a shame if you lost that gorgeous tree. Everything is looking so nice. The daffodils and tulips are in their glory and isn’t it nice to find plants popping up that you think were gone. Spring is just such a nice time of the year.
What a helpful video today for us Laura. And so much better after the clean up. And l will have my fingers crossed your willow does not come down in your storm.
I love my Fiskar shrub rake. I saw you using one a couple of years back and have bought them as gifts for several friends. Also happy you can get replacement heads for them. Saves a little money. I have learned so much from you about pruning. Sure makes the process less intimidating. Thank you.
I was catching up with a retired friend who I knew when in the military. Talking about gardening and he asked if I watched "Garden Answer". He lives in Saudi...your fame goes far and wide! Your videos always inspire me to go clean up and plant one of my areas.
Ohhhhhh🙀there you are👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻I was really “jonesing” for your channel 🤣🤣for about 3 days🥲I’m glad your showing us how to prune the butterfly bush. I’m in 6b Michigan and I cut mine back all the way down just like you did. I do this every year on Mother’s Day weekend and like yours comes back full of buds and flowers every year. Thank you Laura for all the lessons we get from you……..even us old dogs😂😂😂
I appreciate you sharing your knowledge with the public. I have learned so much! With each episode I manage to pick up a little tid bit of info that is a big help. Plus - listening to you is pleasant. A nice voice with expert information is a win win! Many thanks. ☺️
Oh gosh! Thank you for all this! I was worried when a was forced to scalp down my beloved butterfly bush! And I know it's a late starter, but feeling more at ease now!
So you got out the big guns to tackle that Euonymus. So glad for the reminder to use the right tool for the job. Work smarter, not harder! As always - Thanks for the reminder!
Laura, seriously you are like my role model lol… Like you get down and dirty and look gorgeous doing it!!! I find it amazing just how knowledgeable you are!!!
Hey there from Texas, I’ve been a subscriber a few years now, I’ve never commented before. I’d just be repeating others compliments and praises of your beautiful family, and lovely surroundings. 💟💟💟 I couldn’t help myself this time around, after watching you bend down to prune underneath the juniper bush for your peonies. My goodness, I was honestly afraid you’d find a snake under there. 😳😳😳 Forgive me if you get asked this often, but do y’all have snakes up there with all the open fields??? How do y’all deal with them if y’all do? Anyway, thank you very much for taking us along for your daily chores, and projects, your videos make my day!!! 🙂🙂🙂 I pray that the high winds that were predicted, turned into soft breezes… Take care, have a wonderful and blessed Resurrection Sunday with your sweet family. ✝️💟🛐 Maranatha
It was nice to see you maintaining your existing gardens. Might want to move the peony. It'll be swallowed up in no time by the juniper. Also curious if you'll be composting anything this year. I'm a much much older gardener with two acres in established gardens. I compost the softer clean-up piles and bag the rest. So far this year, I've gone through 80 lawn bags with the tougher limbs. In Georgia, no one is allowed to burn anything, which I wouldn't do anyway. My azaleas are in all their glory now as well as dogwoods. My white loropetalums are in full bloom as well as the more common red/purple ones. All my annuals from Proven Winners and White Flower Farms should arrive this week. Think about composting with so much waste coming from maintenance. So good for the earth :) We gardeners need to be role models!

Good morning. Thank you for sharing. I'm going to prune the spireas today. See you next time 😊
Thank you for the pruning videos.
Wow! The shrub looks so much better.
I am going to plant spring bulbs in pots like this. I have never been able to get bulbs through pressure from squirrels, bunnies, etc. This works perfect and so nice to be able to move them where you want them.

Boy do I need to get in my yard and do some pruning.. thanks Laura for giving us a guide on what to look for. 😊🙏🏽
Ah man, I love you! Thank-you for the fantastic videos and for just being you! ❤️🤗
Yes indeed a kitty was hiding in there. At 4:23 the little Tuxedo cat came out of hiding. Bush looks great but now kitty needs to find a new hidy hole🤣
Love waking up to laura laying on the ground trimming a bush ..you are a Rockstar..
It is always so satisfying when we cut plants back and shape them up for the season!
Good morning cabbages!
Hi there how're you doing today?

Thank you.
I love watching your videos. I learn something new every time. I would love to have a nice big bundle of those dried hydrangea blooms.
Loved seeing the cute little black & white face peeking out while you pruned the first bush ❤️
I appreciate you sharing your knowledge with the public. I have learned so much! With each episode I manage to pick up a little tid bit of info that is a big help. Plus - listening to you is pleasant. A nice voice with expert information is a win win! Many thanks. ☺️
You so enjoy all the beautiful blooms.
I always enjoy watching your videos.
Pruning is always scariest for me...these videos help so much!
Laura, seriously you are like my role model lol… Like you get down and dirty and look gorgeous doing it!!! I find it amazing just how knowledgeable you are!!!
It always feels so good to prune and clean up flower beds. Everything looks so good. I need to prune my butterfly bush. Great job. 💕☀️🌷
Love the music,..... you are a wild woman with the pruning shears.Go Laura!
I see daffodils behind you in your final shot. Exciting!
Hey there from Texas,
I’ve been a subscriber a few years now, I’ve never commented before. I’d just be repeating others compliments and praises of your beautiful family, and lovely surroundings.
💟💟💟
I couldn’t help myself this time around, after watching you bend down to prune underneath the juniper bush for your peonies.
My goodness, I was honestly afraid you’d find a snake under there.
😳😳😳
Forgive me if you get asked this often, but do y’all have snakes up there with all the open fields???
How do y’all deal with them if y’all do?
Anyway, thank you very much for taking us along for your daily chores, and projects, your videos make my day!!!
🙂🙂🙂
I pray that the high winds that were predicted, turned into soft breezes…
Take care, have a wonderful and blessed Resurrection Sunday with your sweet family.

Laura, thank you for the detailed pruning video. Close up demo where to cut and budget friendly plant suggestions are helping my garden to expand.
Hi, Laura! Thank you for the helpful video. I tend to be a timid pruner; this video will help me be braver. I hope you survived the wind storm with minimal damage.
