Did you guys notice how Android 18 basically emptied out her wallet throughout the duration of the episode? She tossed that Spencer's gift card at Sammy, smoked the joint, and spent that 1600 zeni on the burgers. It was almost like it was supposed to be symbolic of her leaving her past behind and walking towards the future with the man of her dreams...poetic.

It could be a symbolic thing, like she sees her time before being kidnapped and transformed as her old life and has decided to live her new life as 18. I mean if she really wanted to be called by her real name, I feel like she would have mentioned it.
It is a little odd, but at the same time, it was Lazuli who died on Gero's operating slab. To 18, that might be an entirely different person. She's just Cyborg 18 now. Simpler that way.
He's the Pierce Washington of the DBZ Abridged Crew. He's the butt of damn near every joke in the series, but still he's a great guy that everyone likes hanging out with.

Honestly I respect krillin. He fought his fight, got his wife and then called it. He didn’t need to get stronger or become the greatest. He decided that love was all he needed and I can respect that.
The final act that really won her over was him wishing for both her and her brother to lose their bombs. He could have just wished for her, but he was thinking about both of them and how they basically got raped by Dr. Gero. (As in their bodies being violated to be made into cyborgs against their will) But Krillin looking out for 17 as well touched her in the right place.
Its been years since I've watched DBZ, and I haven't watched any of Super but wasn't there a scene where he, without any transformations, was able to block/deflect SSGSS Goku's Kamehameha? Cause that's a pretty powerful feat imo, since like, to my knowledge, SSGSS is multiple times more powerful than SSG and exponentially more powerful than SS, so by that logic, he's exponentially more powerful than Goku and Vegeta when they don't transform and probably is stronger than their SS and SS2 forms. (Maybe.)
Seriously if they did a whole series and made it about 18 and Krillin I'd watch it. You guys make that relationship far more real than anything I have ever seen.
Also, aren't we forgetting how chill she is with krillin calling her a skinny blonde and took it so well. I know she promised herself to make him feel very special for him saving her life, but this is couple goals. they have such a perfect dynamic.

Looking at it, 18 and Krillen (a female cyborg who can bench-press a building and a bald midget who "flashes" people) and Yajirobe (might have spelled that wrong) and Kiren (a morbidly obese samurai and a talking cat-person who lives with Popo and Yami, who are an interspecies, same-sex couple who grow magical healing meth beans as a hobby) are actually the two healthiest, most compatable couples in DBZA.
Since Krillin is always surrounded by super-powered aliens and Demi-Gods that all outclass him it’s easy to forget that, against other humans, Krillin is insanely strong!
Krillin is the strongest human in the universe. That is not even an exageration. He only seems weak becuase he hangs out with what are effectively demigods from outer space and the short (snicker) list of beings that outclass him is actually not as long as you would think.
Not just “one of” the strongest. After Yamcha quit, Tien took a fat L in the entirety of DBS, and Krillin *technically* killed Cell, he was rank 1 or 2 of the strongest pure humans on Earth. With a valid argument that Master Roshi could still be stronger.
I think 18 and Krillin have the most realistic relationship, Bulma and Vegeta have the strongest, Goku and ChiChi have the simplistic and wholesome, and Videl and Gohan have the most stable
We're still gonna see more of the relationship in the shorts. There's still Krillin popping the question, his and Lazuli's bachelor and bachlorette parties (assuming they'll build up to the big day), their wedding, possibly their honeymoon, Lazuli getting pregnant and the birth of Marron.
I'm certain people have already realized this, but I was doing a rewatch of DBZA, and during the scene in episode 44 where Cell was eating Nicky Town, the camera pans by L'Anus Serre. The restaurant was a callback. TFS has better continuity than even I realized.
Along this same line of continuity, when.......just to be safe, spoilers........the Ginyu Force gets kicked off King Kai's planet and into the Blood Fountain, Goz tells Mez (The German Ogres in 'Hell') that they have visitors and to prepare the camps which sounds like a typical German joke, but on paying more attention to the HFIL series I realized that the Ginyus said they were the first there and it was just a bunch of tents in a camp when they arrived before building the neighborhood. I'm likely the unobservant idiot but I definitely didn't catch that on first watch. xD
Y'know... In a way, this short explains why Lazuli still goes by "Eighteen" even after she became Krillin's wife. See, during their date, she mentions that the only things she had in her wallet when she and her brother were abducted was a (now expired) coupon, a joint, and some cash. - She gave the coupon to the waiter - She smoked the joint outside the restaurant - She used her money to treat herself and Krillin to a burger dinner So basically, she's leaving her former, miserable life behind her. And the last step is abandoning her former name : she's no longer Lazuli, the vulnerable teenager who had nothing to look up to in life, she's now 18, one of the most powerful beings on Earth who has a loving husband and a good life ahead of her.
Damn dude love when people look at the little Things. This shit was smart and I like when people give credence to her past, she might be 18 now but she was a person and a girl who had her life changed forever, but she still gets to choose who she is

If you recall, he wanted to control their behaviour and make them obedient. He would tweak their personalities, wake them up then shut them down as soon as he realized he had failed. They also hated Jiro so they had no reason to use the denominations he gave them if they actually remembered their names.
Ok, legit, thank you guys for making this where 18 genuinely likes Krillin, reminding us that Kirllin is still literally one of the strongest human beings to ever exist, and for writing them with so much chemistry. Mad respect for the Krilldog and 18, my fav couple in the series and the best part of DBGT.

No way in HFIL! People tend to forget that besides Roshi and Tien, Krillin's one of the strongest humans in the Z Fighters. Just because he gets smacked around a lot (by damn near god-level dudes, by the way) does not mean he's got no clout. Krillin embodies what most of us want to be. A super powerful "strongest human" who's not only caring about others, but cares about his own surroundings. Most people would've broken the table and pinned it on the waiter for being a dick, but Krillin proved his point, got an apology, and paid for the damage he caused in less than 30 seconds all while looking badass as hell. I think in a world of superheroes and aliens, we all some times forget that if Krillin were real, he'd DEFINITELY be the strongest one out of all of us (with the exception of the Androids because they're half human half machine at this point.) Speaking of being machine.....If 18 doesn't run off of human food....................what does she survive on? What gives her power? Electricity? I mean I'd assume so. Maybe her eyes have solar panels or something so every time she's in the sun her battery's constantly getting recharged. Or maybe she has some other way of obtaining power through an internal or external means like a tiny engine where her heart would be, or a charging port somewhere on her person. I DON'T NEED SLEEP! I NEED ANSWERS!
Funny thing is this is how I envision their first date would go. A perfect date in a formal setting is just not them at that stage. But a partial wreck that is salvaged by just having some fun energy at a relaxed place yeah that is it.

I was really hoping he'd get to tell someone that story who'd actually appreciate it. And maybe give him a "good job, Krillin". I kind of feel like a lot of the other Z Fighters would just dismiss it or not care.
I am guessing that what lead 18 to becoming fully attracted to Krillin was: -His bravery -She knew that he was a lot weaker than her and that Krillen knew that fact too yet; -Despite him being absolutely terrified(he just witnessed a Super Saiyan Vegeta get easily clobbered by her) he did not attempt to flee when he could have easily done so. In fact, he went towards them in an effort to stop them(via a different tactic anyway) - He displayed that he must have quite the backbone to go stand up to them. (I would say it would take a lot of backbone in order for him to not lose his balance when being approached and kissed by her, someone who just floored Super Saiyan Vegeta, brutally) -He took on Semi-Perfect Cell without hesitation when SeP cell insulted 18. He would take on anyone who would dare insult her. -His sense of humour. -He picked her over the world, _literally._ -His willingness to help the best way he can/could. -Him not being an arrogant tool.
That's the best part about Krillin. He knows where he stands on the ladder, but if he can help it, he ain't letting his loved ones or the world go out without him giving a damn good fight. Hell, even against Freeza he gave monumental effort for someone like him. Cut off 2nd form's tail and even fought alongside Gohan and Piccolo against his final form. Krillin's scared, sure, but when it counts, he fights with the rest of them. He's a damn good guy.
Krillin is one of the strongest human's in series...unfortunately humans are still near the bottom of power scale and he hangs out with people that fight gods and can destroy universes...by changing their hair style no less.

They're comedians and writers, not the RUclips comment section. Y'know how every good comedy show has the butt of the joke who secretly has it all? It's standard good comedy, you don't bury the guy you make fun of the most, you give him the best ending.
I love how in this sort you see Lazuli use all the things she had on her person when Gero kidnapped her, the last things tying her to her old life. The Spencers gift card, the joint, and her 1600 Zen to pay for their dinners, fully embracing she a new person, starting a new life with Krillin. And its a life worth taking
thank you TeamFourStar for enhancing their character traits in a positive way to make their relationship seem more believable here than having it seemingly come out of nowhere like in the original show.

@@maximumviews5759 RE:2 was also a remake and paid respect to the original. FFVII:R did not. It intentionally breaks the previously established lore to tell a new story. The story itself would be fine in it's own game, but not changing an existing one's, which is exactly how to not pay respect to a property.

Jon Chiaravalle TFS is awesome where it makes scenes you wish was canon. My favorite was when they were digging through Android 16’s memories and an original animation of himself making a video for Dr.Gero. It’s canon now, and no one will tell me otherwise.

Krillin has helped save the earth enough times that he's got confidence in spades. He may not be the strongest of the DBZ characters, but that actually is a case of being a big fish in a pond full of bigger fish. If he were to move to a much smaller pond, he would decimate anyone stupid enough to go after him.

It's still based on the Anime's personality, but there's just... more to her than that in the Abridged series. She still has that edge to her, it's just that she's shown to be more willing to show off her soft side to others she cares about. More importantly, they show why she actually likes Krillin.

A LOT of relationships and dynamics established here in TFS were just already established things in the og series/adaptions. TFS simply expanded on it due to having 30+ years of hindsight that the og creator and writers didn’t have. This isn’t a dis to their writing or anything though. Just that these aspects of 18 and krillins relationship was always kinda there. Though to be realistic, even pre-super it was mostly due to the anime adaption. The actual OG manga adaption of DB’s original run barely did anything for krillin and 18’s relationship, much less show it lmao. But you could definitely find aspects of these sides of their relationship in stuff like Bio Broly for sure.
I mean yeah, a lady terminator and the LITERAL STRONGEST HUMAN ON THE FRICKIN' PLANET if we are going by the canon series and assuming it's the same in the abridged series.
Honestly out of all the original couples I definitely wanted to see more krillin and 18 doing cute couple stuff. They just seemed like the most normal and dependable couple of them all. Super did do some stuff but its nice to have them just be this open and casual.
@Haku infinite I mean the Monkey alien halfbreed who masquerades as a Superhero on the side and the daughter of the biggest superstar on Earth (she also sometimes hero's it up as well) and their baby daughter who can SURVIVE HIGH ENOUGH IN THE AIR THAT YOU CAN SEE SPACE and bust mechs is a pretty normal family all things considered too. I guess I should also include the slug alien 'uncle' as well in that family.

Okay, three things: 1) These two have great chemistry and they’re adorable together. 2) Krillin standing up for his woman is the most badass thing ever. 3) A life without burgers is definitely not living.
I was going to say I don't like burgers, but it wouldn't prove you wrong becouse just as Im the person I know who has eaten the least burgers, Im the most internally dead one I know.
There is not that much competition for "best girl in the show" :D at the end of Z, you had Bulma, Chichi, 18 and Videl. Bulma is completely sidelined in Z, just being a living plot device, compared to original Dragonball. Chichi was reduced to being a worried, stay-at-home, hysteric mom in the kitchen after starting out as a fighter in Dragonball. Videl only came in during the Buu Saga, had some interesting development for like 10 episodes before she lost in the tournament, also being sidelined afterwards. 18 and her development during the Android and Cell sagas is the only thing that really stood out. And not enough at that. Only TFS gave us the 18 we really deserved.

I feel like people often forget that the second weakest of the Z-Fighters (Yamcha) can canonically destroy a planet. To clarify, Vegeta with a power level of 18,000 could destroy a Earth sized planet. Yamcha is in the 20,000 range after his revival post-Namek.
@@Rhino-Prime, people forget just how powerful he is! He's actually as strong as Goku was just before he went Super Saiyan for the first time. Meaning that Krillin is stronger than all of the guys before the era of Super Saiyan bargain sales.

It's so nice to see a comedy date story where one of the parties DOESN'T make a fool of himself and the other just excuses it and loves them anyway. Krillin is a bit awkward, but he's no loser, nor pushover when compared to a mere mortal. He may not have as much confidence as 18, but he's got enough for what he needs. They both kicked ass here, but they also have amazing chemistry. Bravo guys, bravo!
They struck a really good balance: Obviously, Lazuli is more than capable of standing up for herself, but Krillin is both a gentleman for demanding an apology, and just as much a threat to some random twat whose biggest muscle is his ego.

Don't forget than at 13, he was the third best fighter of a world tournament, and the world tournament at the time had fighter far better than mr Satan.
You know what I love about this? This is one of those moments in life where you finally get to go on a date with someone. You've been having a massive crush on and it turns out better than you expected because even though you were nervous as hell about leaving a good impression, it turns out that person is just appreciates how they vibe with you and everything else that comes in between is just a plus. So you end up having a better night than you expected. For those who haven't experienced the moment like this before, don't worry, someday that day will come where you finally meet someone you can fully open up to and be yourself and you learn that they're attracted to you the more you're willing to be comfortable around them.

God this is so wholesome... Makes the whole “Marrin” situation feel actually freaking earned. Like yes it was adorable in the original too but still...the chemistry feels real.
I hear people complain a lot about how Krillin naming his daughter after his ex is disrespectful to 18, but I kinda see it as an indirect way of thanking Maron. If she never broke Krillin’s heart in the first place, then he likely never would’ve considered giving 18 a chance.
He also didn't, Maron was anime filler only Marron is is a chestnut pun like Kuririn (which is what the anime writers were going for). Concurrent punmaking
1) Nice touch how she waited to shut the waiter down until *after* Krillin was done rambling about white chocolate, so Krillin would see her do it. 2) I just noticed Roshi dressed as Jackie Chun on a date behind them.
I love that Krillin completely ignores the waiter's disrespect until he insults 18. Insulting him? No problem, it's whatever. Insulting his date? It's table-breaking time.
Krill's living up to a deliciously underrated trope called the Chivalrous Pervert. Basically if you lay slander, cause harm,in any way badmouth or woe forbid make the girl he's oogling cry? not even a senzu bean can save you from the 9 circles of hell they'll rain on your skull.
I honestly thought that Krillin's response to 'what are you gonna do about it' would be "Not stop her from doing whatever she's about to do to you -- she doesn't need my help, but you might in about two seconds."
I love how in this one short, TFS manages to assert how krillin is THE strongest human. Remember. He trained with goku, staying on par with him during master roshis training. The only reason he got sidelined is because power creep

@@Sigma-gb9yd I see it the same way. Throughout the adventures in Abridged, not counting his awkward moments, he and Gohan are so alike. They aren't aggressive until they are backed against a wall, not looking for a fight. But they do enjoy adventures. You can even see that Krillin gets Gohan when he asks Gohan, "Do you like mysteries?" It makes it easy to forget that Krillin is so much older with as much a goofball he is, but he does have Gohan's best interests in heart. They are like Indy and Short Round. Tony and Harley. Rooster Cogburn and Mattie Ross. T-1000 and John Connor.
I have watched this so many times and I love it more everytime. Toriyama cannot write romance for shit but this has convinced me that Krillin and 18 actually work well together.
In fact, toriyama had already planned how the "love" story of krillin and 18 would be, but he did not do it or put it in the manga because he was ashamed

I love how sincere and wholesome this episode is. It's probably my favorite of these mini-episodes and my favorite incarnation of these two as a couple!
Unironic Cloud Shrug eh, to be fair, the reason the guy didn’t take 18’s threat seriously is because, well, they just met, he shrugged it off because, well, he probably thought she was just being another typical woman with her out burst. But Krillin? This is the kind of guy people judge, thinking they’re not much, a joke, so the moment one hit BROKE that table in half when he’s literally half 18’s height? Yeah, that’ll scare people.
In all fairness he was shown that he was fully out matched in strength & possibly fighting skill by someone he thought was like a toddler where as 18 didn't even wrinkle his jacket & threatened him with a weapon.

The downside of the shorts is that we won't get any fun moments from canon (like the Great Saiyaman or anything involving Buu's first form). The upside is that Team Four Star isn't limited by canon footage, either.
The Rook maybe they just need to do something a bit more free form to get their groove back. Like goku said “this doesn’t have to be goodbye forever, but it is goodbye, for now at least. I like to think all these shorts are the DBZ Abridged cannon where everything was fine after the Cell Saga, people just lived happy lives and Goku's sacrifice meant something beyond saving just the day
Me too - the Cell Saga's a good, natural ending for the characters. Sometimes, you need to know when to end a story, and this is one of the better spots.

This shows how TFS can make more then just comedy. This wasn't laugh out loud per say like they usually do, but it was incredibly sweet and heartfelt. Hope we get more of Krillin and 18 in the future, maybe them with Bulma dragging Vegeta on a double date 😂
When the writing isn't something they're reacting to, but just spun whole cloth by them, I agree, it comes off as oddly and nicely personal. Toriyama's writing has a different color to it, especially since it's mostly concerned with hinging the fate of the world on death matches.
Oh my god, I can already picture it: Vegeta death staring Android 18 for what she did to him, 18 instigating Vegeta thus raising the tension, Bulma not seeming to give much of a shit and Krillin freaking the fuck out because he doesn't want to them to fight.

The final act that really won her over was him wishing for both her and her brother to lose their bombs. He could have just wished for her, but he was thinking about both of them and how they basically got raped by Dr. Gero. I'm certain people have already realized this, but I was doing a rewatch of DBZA, and during the scene in episode 44 where Cell was eating Nicky Town, the camera pans by L'Anus Serre. The restaurant was a callback. TFS has better continuity than even I realized.
L'Anus Serre was first mentioned by Maron in episode 31, that's why Krillin says here that he's had reservations for a WHILE
Along this same line of continuity, when.......just to be safe, spoilers........the Ginyu Force gets kicked off King Kai's planet and into the Blood Fountain, Goz tells Mez (The German Ogres in 'Hell') that they have visitors and to prepare the camps which sounds like a typical German joke, but on paying more attention to the HFIL series I realized that the Ginyus said they were the first there and it was just a bunch of tents in a camp when they arrived before building the neighborhood. I'm likely the unobservant idiot but I definitely didn't catch that on first watch. xD

Y'know... In a way, this short explains why Lazuli still goes by "Eighteen" even after she became Krillin's wife.
See, during their date, she mentions that the only things she had in her wallet when she and her brother were abducted was a (now expired) coupon, a joint, and some cash.
- She gave the coupon to the waiter
- She smoked the joint outside the restaurant
- She used her money to treat herself and Krillin to a burger dinner
So basically, she's leaving her former, miserable life behind her. And the last step is abandoning her former name : she's no longer Lazuli, the vulnerable teenager who had nothing to look up to in life, she's now 18, one of the most powerful beings on Earth who has a loving husband and a good life ahead of her.
It's gotta be like heaven. All the power, and opportunity in the world.
And she uses it to settle down.

If you recall, he wanted to control their behaviour and make them obedient. He would tweak their personalities, wake them up then shut them down as soon as he realized he had failed. They also hated Jiro so they had no reason to use the denominations he gave them if they actually remembered their names.

Krillin embodies what most of us want to be. A super powerful "strongest human" who's not only caring about others, but cares about his own surroundings. Most people would've broken the table and pinned it on the waiter for being a dick, but Krillin proved his point, got an apology, and paid for the damage he caused in less than 30 seconds all while looking badass as hell.
I think in a world of superheroes and aliens, we all some times forget that if Krillin were real, he'd DEFINITELY be the strongest one out of all of us (with the exception of the Androids because they're half human half machine at this point.)

I am guessing that what lead 18 to becoming fully attracted to Krillin was:
-His bravery
-She knew that he was a lot weaker than her and that Krillen knew that fact too yet;
-Despite him being absolutely terrified(he just witnessed a Super Saiyan Vegeta get easily clobbered by her) he did not attempt to flee when he could have easily done so. In fact, he went towards them in an effort to stop them(via a different tactic anyway)
- He displayed that he must have quite the backbone to go stand up to them. (I would say it would take a lot of backbone in order for him to not lose his balance when being approached and kissed by her, someone who just floored Super Saiyan Vegeta, brutally)
-He took on Semi-Perfect Cell without hesitation when SeP cell insulted 18. He would take on anyone who would dare insult her.
-His sense of humour.
-He picked her over the world, _literally._
-His willingness to help the best way he can/could.
-Him not being an arrogant tool.
That's the best part about Krillin. He knows where he stands on the ladder, but if he can help it, he ain't letting his loved ones or the world go out without him giving a damn good fight. Hell, even against Freeza he gave monumental effort for someone like him. Cut off 2nd form's tail and even fought alongside Gohan and Piccolo against his final form. Krillin's scared, sure, but when it counts, he fights with the rest of them. He's a damn good guy.

I love how in this sort you see Lazuli use all the things she had on her person when Gero kidnapped her, the last things tying her to her old life. The Spencers gift card, the joint, and her 1600 Zen to pay for their dinners, fully embracing she a new person, starting a new life with Krillin. And its a life worth taking

Krillin has helped save the earth enough times that he's got confidence in spades. He may not be the strongest of the DBZ characters, but that actually is a case of being a big fish in a pond full of bigger fish. If he were to move to a much smaller pond, he would decimate anyone stupid enough to go after him.

You know, since Krillin is constantly being swatted around by near-demi gods, it's easy to forget he's more than capable of absolutely slaughtering the average person.
Love 18’s personality in this series the combination of voice, humor and timing makes me wish this was her personality in the actual anime.

It's still based on the Anime's personality, but there's just... more to her than that in the Abridged series. She still has that edge to her, it's just that she's shown to be more willing to show off her soft side to others she cares about. More importantly, they show why she actually likes Krillin.

A LOT of relationships and dynamics established here in TFS were just already established things in the og series/adaptions.
TFS simply expanded on it due to having 30+ years of hindsight that the og creator and writers didn’t have.
This isn’t a dis to their writing or anything though.
Just that these aspects of 18 and krillins relationship was always kinda there.
Though to be realistic, even pre-super it was mostly due to the anime adaption.
The actual OG manga adaption of DB’s original run barely did anything for krillin and 18’s relationship, much less show it lmao.
But you could definitely find aspects of these sides of their relationship in stuff like Bio Broly for sure.

Honestly out of all the original couples I definitely wanted to see more krillin and 18 doing cute couple stuff. They just seemed like the most normal and dependable couple of them all. Super did do some stuff but its nice to have them just be this open and casual.

There is not that much competition for "best girl in the show" :D at the end of Z, you had Bulma, Chichi, 18 and Videl. Bulma is completely sidelined in Z, just being a living plot device, compared to original Dragonball. Chichi was reduced to being a worried, stay-at-home, hysteric mom in the kitchen after starting out as a fighter in Dragonball. Videl only came in during the Buu Saga, had some interesting development for like 10 episodes before she lost in the tournament, also being sidelined afterwards.
18 and her development during the Android and Cell sagas is the only thing that really stood out. And not enough at that. Only TFS gave us the 18 we really deserved.

To clarify, Vegeta with a power level of 18,000 could destroy a Earth sized planet. Yamcha is in the 20,000 range after his revival post-Namek.

It's so nice to see a comedy date story where one of the parties DOESN'T make a fool of himself and the other just excuses it and loves them anyway. Krillin is a bit awkward, but he's no loser, nor pushover when compared to a mere mortal. He may not have as much confidence as 18, but he's got enough for what he needs.
They both kicked ass here, but they also have amazing chemistry. Bravo guys, bravo!

Don't forget than at 13, he was the third best fighter of a world tournament, and the world tournament at the time had fighter far better than mr Satan.
You know what I love about this? This is one of those moments in life where you finally get to go on a date with someone. You've been having a massive crush on and it turns out better than you expected because even though you were nervous as hell about leaving a good impression, it turns out that person is just appreciates how they vibe with you and everything else that comes in between is just a plus. So you end up having a better night than you expected.
For those who haven't experienced the moment like this before, don't worry, someday that day will come where you finally meet someone you can fully open up to and be yourself and you learn that they're attracted to you the more you're willing to be comfortable around them.

I hear people complain a lot about how Krillin naming his daughter after his ex is disrespectful to 18, but I kinda see it as an indirect way of thanking Maron. If she never broke Krillin’s heart in the first place, then he likely never would’ve considered giving 18 a chance.

They aren't aggressive until they are backed against a wall, not looking for a fight. But they do enjoy adventures. You can even see that Krillin gets Gohan when he asks Gohan, "Do you like mysteries?"
It makes it easy to forget that Krillin is so much older with as much a goofball he is, but he does have Gohan's best interests in heart.

I have watched this so many times and I love it more everytime. Toriyama cannot write romance for shit but this has convinced me that Krillin and 18 actually work well together.

Unironic Cloud Shrug eh, to be fair, the reason the guy didn’t take 18’s threat seriously is because, well, they just met, he shrugged it off because, well, he probably thought she was just being another typical woman with her out burst. But Krillin? This is the kind of guy people judge, thinking they’re not much, a joke, so the moment one hit BROKE that table in half when he’s literally half 18’s height? Yeah, that’ll scare people.
In all fairness he was shown that he was fully out matched in strength & possibly fighting skill by someone he thought was like a toddler where as 18 didn't even wrinkle his jacket & threatened him with a weapon.

I like to think all these shorts are the DBZ Abridged cannon where everything was fine after the Cell Saga, people just lived happy lives and Goku's sacrifice meant something beyond saving just the day

Me too - the Cell Saga's a good, natural ending for the characters. Sometimes, you need to know when to end a story, and this is one of the better spots.

This shows how TFS can make more then just comedy. This wasn't laugh out loud per say like they usually do, but it was incredibly sweet and heartfelt. Hope we get more of Krillin and 18 in the future, maybe them with Bulma dragging Vegeta on a double date 😂
When the writing isn't something they're reacting to, but just spun whole cloth by them, I agree, it comes off as oddly and nicely personal. Toriyama's writing has a different color to it, especially since it's mostly concerned with hinging the fate of the world on death matches.

Oh my god, I can already picture it: Vegeta death staring Android 18 for what she did to him, 18 instigating Vegeta thus raising the tension, Bulma not seeming to give much of a shit and Krillin freaking the fuck out because he doesn't want to them to fight.
I love how you guys made 18 (and krillin) better/deeper characters
