Carol Burnett and Jerry Lewis two gods of comedy, I am Canadian but remember as a kid watching his telephone and thinking I want to help Jerrys kids and I did, in any way I made money and put it to his kids, I loved Jerry from his films and loved Carol from her show, both are great people.

Jerry was a very talented director, producer, actor, comedian, and was a major entertainer in show business,....ever! He was also a teacher of film. Had it not been for Jerry, Dean Martin wouldn't have made it on his own. Eventually, but not the same timing with Jerry, his popularity started with Jerry. As a team, they were both as popular as the Beatles. It was a fact. The LA TV area, should, suffer because of the lack of notoriety they didn't give him when he died. Jim Carry modeled his career on Jerry's comedy! He was a genius.

Fabiana Di Santi .But hundreds of millions of dollars went to those suffering with MD & their families which you for some reason want to discount! Never mind all the smiles he put on their faces. Dean & Jerry were authentic. They sang, joked, & made some great romantic comedy movies together with women leading stars nothing resembling Abbott & Costello movies. Their chemistry was genuine. Not once did I see them as copy of anyone. You have personal problems with him, & it doesn't reflect well upon you.

What does that have to do with anything? He hasn't done the labor day telethon for years. He was "let go" at least a decade ago. MDA got bad press when it leaked out that Jerry got about 20% off the top. Contributions actually rose when they gave him the heave ho!

Of course Jerry Lewis had his flaws. I know I would hate to be put under a microscope and analyzed like these celebrities are. I would not make it far without getting blasted. There is only one Person Who ever walked this earth was perfect, and He was Jewish too. Jerry is one of my heroes, and I do not try to make him perfect. He made me laugh. He made me cry. He was a very articulate person, and even though he sometimes said controversial things, he had a lot of wise things to say too. I would hate to have my speech put under a microscope because I sometimes have "diarrhea of the mouth" too. You cannot undo those times, especially as a celebrity like Jerry. Love you, Jerry, and will miss you.

My best memory of Jerry Lewis was when a movie would open hear in New York City. He would go to every movie Theather in the 5 boroughs and do 10 mintes live on the movie stage before the start of the money. It was much funnier then the movie. He did the same when he was with dean Martin. I loved those 10 minute off the cuff inter reaction with the audience. I saw him decades later at the opening night of the musical a chorus line and told him. He was very gracious to my wife and I.

I remember as a kid when I used to go to see the Martin /Lewis movie There would be a break while Dean sang his romantic number to some chick as well as a collective moan from all us young guys. We wanted Jerry.
In my late teens I suddenly discovered Dean. I could listen to him singing all day and I found that he was actually funnier then Jerry. I think his re-entry in to the charts helped and also his TV show. I do feel though as you mature so do your tastes in entertainment and a lot of Jerry's humour was a little infantile. I liken it to making a funny face at a baby. Do this and it will laugh. Tell it a joke and you'll get no response. It was also said at times his gestures mocked the afflicted.
Anyway, for Jerry to suffer such life threatening health problems and still make it to 91 shows you the measure of the man.
    RIP Jerry.

Jerry was always my hero. I think Brdon Ocarol is the only person that can come close to his genius.

when asked "What comic genius equal to Jerry Lewis of our time?" Larry King couldn't think of one. Answer: Chris Farley pure Legend but taken too soon. We would have loved 91 years of Chris!

He did so much for mda telethon and for them to drop Jerry Lewis and not mention him is disrespectful and a slap in the face of the iconic comedian R.I.P Jerry Lewis I love watching Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis movies
