Дякую чувак. Твоє відео дуже допомогло. Також на denon x6400 при прослуховуванні dolby atmos не працювало 2 бокових верхніх динаміки. Після твоєї поради все запрацювало.
I have the X6300H and was considering purchasing the Auro 3-D upgrade. I also have enough floor and height speakers to do a true 7.2.4 setup. But i was struggling with where to mount the 4 height speakers, considering I want to enjoy Atmos, AND try out Auro 3-D. When you’re video confirmed that height surround speakers are ideal for Auro 3-D, but useless with Atmos, that really helped me determine where to mount my rear height speakers. Based on making the changes you recommended inside the Denon speaker speaker setup, I now have a much better idea on how to set it all up. Thank you.
I know you have surround heights above your side surrounds and you tell the receiver you have rear heights. The question is how do you like the Atmos/Auro 3d sound with your unified setup? This video really helped summarize my future build for a 7.2.4 configuration. I'm going to mount the Rear height speakers over the rear surround speakers. Thanks!
I also own a Denon AVR, and up until a few weeks, after having the Denon for years, I realised that in order to have the Sub working with a CD Player, you'll need to change the front speakers setup not to floor standing, but bookshelf. Good tip.
I love your room and speaker placements! I had the same problem with my sub. I had them behind my seating area and they were just too loud and muffled. Then I placed the subwoofer on my seat and walked across the room and decided that the best place for it was in front of me to the left. Yes, I did the subwoofer crawl. I works great! What did you do at 08:32 haha
I thought about doing the sub crawl, but would have needed a lot of RCA cable to do the test. Rear is better for me, because my A/V gear is protected behind a wall of bookshelves and a baby gate. At 8:32 I double-checked the phase of my subs!
This brings back some memories as I've had the exact same Def Tech speakers. BUT, my first Def Tech was a Powerfield 15" that I only used for 6 months because I transitioned to an appartment. I had a lot of mismatched speakers, but I finally bought a 5.1 Def Tech 600 series, and then I found a crazy deal on some def tech 800's with two 1000 subs. When I moved back into a larger space, I moved the two 1000 subs to the back and brought back my Powerfield 15" for the front. Just proper sub placement brought my theater experience to life! I'm sure some music will work with just the smaller def tech but there's no way to get a quality theater experience without good solid bass! It sounded like you said you don't need subs at the beginning, but at the end, you began talking about your subs. So, what side of the line do you fall on in regards to multiple subs?
This video is from waaaaay back, so I can't swear to what I said. But, I probably said LFE isn't necessary for music. That doesn't mean subs aren't necessary. Unless your main speakers have AWESOME bass extension, you will need subs to fully experience many mixes, both for music and movies.
Have you considered having all the speakers the same size? At 18:25 is not good to have the speakers at different crossovers (I know the majority have to do it like this). In a surround environment it is crucial to have the speakers the same size. Think of a helicopter or a musical instrument moving around in your room, through these crossover settings. For example, the helicopter would sound thinner at the rears vs the fronts (even when the LF content is sent to the sub), since the mid-range power coming from that speaker IS smaller/bigger sounding different. Saw you didn't answer my question about your subwoofer placement either. Don't take this as any insult. I can highly recommend active speakers, bi-amped. I use British produced Class A Quested speakers. I found out later that it is the same speakers that Genesis mixed and mastered the 5.1 mixes on (check interview content with the band members in your boxsets). I don't know many people who have the exact same speakers at home that the artist's themselves used for mixing and mastering, do you? Also many other Hollywood composers and engineers rely on these speakers; Harry Gregson-Williams, Hans Zimmer, Trevor Horn, Danny Elfman, Abbey Road studio and so on... What you say about not spending too much money on a subwoofer, that it is not important, is incorrect. Inexpensive subwoofers will not sound accurate. Believe me, it is night and day. Keep it going. I hope you grow as I enjoy your reviews and love for surround music.

What to call an Atmos speaker array can get tricky. I have 7.2 down below (ear level and subs) and .4 up above (two front, two rear heights). Bare minimum for Atmos is 5.1 down below and 2 heights up front. That would be 5.1.2. I don't recall the model of the 12" Polks. I'm not sure they made more than one at the time. They KICK ASS.

If one wants to run 2 active subs with one sub pre-out... simply attach an rca splitter (1 male to 2 females), then run an rca cord to each subwoofer. I've been running 2 subs for more than 9 years. My marantz 6014 allows for individual sub (svs nsd-12) adjustment. I'll place the splitter on the front two, since they're matched, and will be equally adjusted. I'll run the other to my rear corner sub just for kicks, b/c I really don't need it. Hell, anything adjacent to my man-den in my home house vibrates already. So, in fact it may be too much. I'll find out shortly. Lol
Great system! Have you experimented with 2-channel stereo music played through the Dolby Surround Upmixer? I love music through Pro Logic II, but am hesitant to upgrade as I've heard the DSU is inferior for music. What is your opinion?
Most criticism I've heard compares the former DS to the newest one, but from those who aren't set up for Atmos, i.e. they are using a newer receiver for 5.1. To me, the new DS through my Atmos set up is pretty cool, though I prefer Auro-3D. I have not spent a ton of time auditioning stereo sources through either one, but have incidentally listened for a few minutes, here and there. I'll have to sit down with some favorite stereo sources soon and do an upmixer shootout!
Nice job with the speaker placement and the child proofing I agree with you to a certain extent don't throw your money into subs not unless you can purchase 'refined subs'! I don't like the boom boom boom neither but saying that I do like the rumble, it's all about quality! what you put in you back because ive just added a second sub to my setup, the REL T5i is so fast and accurate that they recommend as well as the 0.1 LFE input, you also hook up the 'HIGH LEVEL INPUT' to the stereo speaker binding posts, nevermind the fact they made my standmounts Sound full range! I didn't know music could sound this good, the upgraded Sonic performance is incredible so much so I think I'm going to be turning from a home theatre enthusiast to a stereo hi-fi nut! 😁
welcome fellow welsh person :) , my denon arrived yesterday, I to am having issues with stereo sources and boom base. I have a QB12 and a home made 2nd sub. Mission 753 on my fronts and side surrounds , and 750 bookshelf on my rears (I am looking for another set of 753 for the rear also)
What's happening butt or should I be saying alright mate, I suppose it all depends on what part of Wales and you are from, lol Sounds like you've got a nice set up going on there, 753s for your rears, 'you crazy bastard...... nah' I get where your coming from, you want to keep the sound unified! and why shouldn't you 🙂 If you like the song thinking of a place (the war on drugs) you should try listening too Texas sun (khruangbin) or better still cold little heart (michael kiwanka) If you click on the cat you might find a few more there!
Do you have a pull-down screen mounted to your ceiling? If so, what is the screen size? What brand/model projector do you have? If you don't, I strongly suggest that you do consider getting one. That is if you really want a true blue theater experience. That flat panel looks totally out of place.
The pull down is around 13'. Projector is an Epson. The TV is for surround album menus, our 2 yo's kid's shows and 3D. Might get a different TV when the kid isn't so destructive... Thanks for watching!
What settings are you using to enjoy quad. I have some quad mixes and I have the same DVD player you have but the quad just doesn’t seem to sound as good as around 5.1
Just my opinion here, but a good sub makes a huge difference in the listening experience. A cheap sub just thumps, while a quality sub makes music. A cheap sub actually makes music sound worse, not better. I'd go without a sub before I'd go with a $150 sub. And I'd rather put my money into one good sub instead of two meh subs.
The only people who I ever hear say that “subs don’t matter, don’t put money into subs” are always people who appear to be trying to convince themselves they aren’t missing out on anything. Because in reality they are. I wish people could reconcile that even if they may not have the best gear, it’s ok, and that they can admit, “Hey this would sound better if I had better gear,” rather than, “Hey since I didn’t invest in quality bass, you don’t have to either, it doesn’t matter anyway.” It’s just not being honest with yourself and in turn, not being honest with your viewers. If you are approximately the 1 out of 3 humans in the entire world who care about home audio and doesn’t believe that bass matters, then more power to you. I mean, I guess It doesn’t surprise me coming from someone with who is happy with pro monitors as his fronts and surround and rears and heights and yada yada. But I don’t necessarily believe he is happy. Either he is happy and naive or he is miserable and just trying to compensate pretending he is. I lean towards the latter. I just wish people could be honest rather than try to convince everyone that since they have it they love it. And there is no reason To get anything else. More power to Him if he is truly happy though. Nothing personal. Cheers man.
Does system shaming make you feel better about yourself? Why don't you just express your opinion about how much to invest in subs, and why, and let others decide what they want to do?
Life in Surround because “system shaming” was not my intention. It seems as if you did not actually read what I wrote? To be happy with less is zen. By all means, be happy with less. But don’t be disingenuous and claim more is not better empirically, measurably. I would try not to state as fact what is opinion when, it appears, you’re creating videos for newbies to learn from. Thanks.
"...doesn’t surprise me coming from someone with who is happy with pro monitors" is definitely system shaming. You can take everything I say on this channel as opinion. Telling me I'm not being honest with myself? Pretty judgey. I hope you can agree that the point of music is to enjoy it. I enjoy my Atmos/Auro system. Including the bass the subs deliver. If you can't believe that, too bad for you. I'm guessing you haven't watched enough of my videos to know about my other systems, have you?
Life in Surround yes you’re completely right. I was judging you. I was. I realize that now. I was judging you by comparing you to the handful of other reviewers who have stated the same exact thing in their reviews of their own systems. You may be happy with those subs, which is great. By all means. Be happy with those subs. But to tell people that it’s not worth investing in subs is utter nonsense. It’s regurgitated to soothe your own ego. And the fact that you find it necessary to attempt to counter the one comment that bruised your fragile ego rather than focus on all the other positive comments lays bare for everyone that fragile ego you’re trying so hard to conceal. A humble man does not focus on one negative comment. The 80 positive comments weren’t enough to keep your tank of self esteem going until your next vid fill up? It was judgey. I judged you. I admit, you caught me judging a reviewer on RUclips. But Christ man. If my comment is the worst you’re getting out here on Evil Filth Lane aka any fuckin internet comment section, YT not withstanding, then you are doing ok. I would hate to see what reaction people might get out of you if there were many people saying all sorts of crazy shit. Rather than one person being a little “judgey.”
7 below, 4 above on my system. Plus 2 subs. Auro can use a "voice of god" speaker, sort of in the middle of the ceiling. I think that could be cool for very large rooms. You have to sacrifice on of the sub pre-outs on my system to add it.
DTS X Jurassic Park, Gladiator, Harry Potter, and about 60 more I can't be bothered to list to name a few as you said you're not aware of any titles I named a few rare obscure indy movies! And Oppo isn't going out of business don't give false info dude.
@@lifeinsurround you said Oppo is going out of business. I'm well aware that Oppo is no longer concentrating on their digital audio DAC'S, Blu-ray players. Oppo is a massive tech corporation, their mobile Android phones recorded record profits this recent annual year to date, hardly going out of business. Furthermore their previous last 2 Bluray players 203 and 205 are now so highly wanted that they sell for 3-4 times their original price, new or used and also Oppo who no longer manufactures Blu-ray players still offers regular firmware updates on these 2 Reference players and will still service them. Of course you having such an old entry level old model 103 without Darby or factory 103U will not qualify for these updates as they no longer support the older machines like yours. When people say statements like you did 'Oppo is going out of business' it confuses people. It would have been better to say Oppo is no longer making Blu-ray players, however if you have one of the later players they are now worth 3-4 times their original list price and of course you can still buy one but it will cost you.

welcome fellow welsh person :) , my denon arrived yesterday, I to am having issues with stereo sources and boom base. I have a QB12 and a home made 2nd sub. Mission 753 on my fronts and side surrounds , and 750 bookshelf on my rears (I am looking for another set of 753 for the rear also)
What's happening butt or should I be saying alright mate, I suppose it all depends on what part of Wales and you are from, lol
Sounds like you've got a nice set up going on there, 753s for your rears, 'you crazy bastard...... nah' I get where your coming from, you want to keep the sound unified! and why shouldn't you 🙂
If you like the song thinking of a place (the war on drugs) you should try listening too Texas sun (khruangbin) or better still cold little heart (michael kiwanka)
If you click on the cat you might find a few more there!
What auromatic settings do you reccomend
Cool vids! Nice shirt man!
Thanks for watching and for noticing!
Could be a bass-management issue? Tell your AVR which speakers are large or small and it should pump any necessary bass to your sub(s).
Good evening I can not hear my klipsch dolby atmos speakers
Any luck yet? Happy to help troubleshoot if you can give me more information.
Van Helsing,Gods of Egypt are excellent DTS X
Lost me when you said you don't notice a difference with different center... maybe get the same line center channel and you would notice
You're a judgy one, aren't ya? How do you know I haven't used the matching center? There are more important things in life to rant about.
Thank you for sharing your view! I plan to do an update once I've renovated the home theater. I'll float your input by the system designers. Cheers.
More power to
Him if he is truly happy though.
I count 10,2 did i miss the voice of God? 10 speakers 2 subs. also Auro runs extra center channel.
And Oppo isn't going out of business don't give false info dude.
www.cnet.com/news/oppo-digital-is-ending-its-audio-and-blu-ray-player-business/
@@Cybertron-cs7sk Well, thank goodness you clarified all that...
Worried about speaker placement with the wife? pull her up about shoes then see where she go’s ?
Any partner tells you you have too much hi-fi equipment look in their wardrobe . Like feet we have 2 ears !
Then not throwing your money into subs haha wow dude... theres a big difference between feeling and hearing bass

I have a 13' screen and two projectors. The 2D is an Epson and the 3D is an Optoma. I use the projectors for concerts and movies, mainly when my toddler is asleep or out of the house.
