Tip for cutting the holes in the aqua panel is to use a laser level to mark the position of the holes then dry fit your board to get the position. Works a treat.
Happy New Year James, hope your well mate 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 Looking forward to watching the content coming up this year on the channel Been accepted a placement at my local college for Plumbing Level 1 in September, and your videos have given me some back knowledge for when I start in September
In the process of installing one of these, very helpful video. Done all pipework, pressure tested and all good ready for boarding. What I dont get is i cant test the shower head arm joint. How can i be sure it is not/wont leak? Thanks
How do you know the screw fittings to the mixer aren’t going to leak before soldiering fittings on? Is there a way to fool proof or leak test? Or do you trust the thread sealant/Teflon tape?
Usually you make videos to sell things but this time it was a great video and very informative. Thanks But I’d like to know how to levelled the shower valve in the recess even tho the brick work chase became uneven? This is a problem I have sometimes and don’t know the best way to do it. Can you explain please. Thanks
The shower arm sealing by screwing in to match the required angle and not a certain tightness (relying on some thread sealant) is a terrible idea. Is there any other more reliable fittings that can be used? Cheers. Also, Are you installing it upside down? The feeds look like they should coming from above to make the bath outlet at the bottom?
Just about to do the foam trick with my pipes, which one do you use, there appears to be two types, one for insulation and one for filling large gaps/voids!
I am in a planning to build a new bathroom on our new side extension. I want to install a steam and shower room including basin and WC. Will you advice at this stage to build a stud wall and tile the ceiling :)
I'm after a shower like this with the 3 outlets for my bathroom. Which would you recommend one like this or the mira unit that's mounted under the bath.
Hey we had a combi boiler put in ......now the shower runs hot (no blockage ) when i turn it.to balance the cold the shower reduces power but still runs hot if i turn the cold further the shower stops running ...any ideas ??
Thanks for the video, very helpful. I'm a bit of a novice so this may be a silly question... but in the part where you fit the 1/2" bsp to 15mm elbow, how do you fit it so that it points the right way? I've dry fitted on the valve I have, but the hot and cold elbows end up pointing in funny directions. Do I need to use washers in between the valve and elbow? Thanks!
I use the loctite 55 for this, wind it to the right angle required. It usually has a bit of play back if needed without compromising the seal, unlike going back on PTFE for instance.

English ppl do the weirdest stuff, why would you run plumbing on an exterior wall to begin with? If global warming reverses, gunna have to worry about those pipes freezing.
Not likely to freeze as British houses are generally double Brick with and air gap or insulation between. Only way pipe usually freeze is if the property is vacant and no heating on / full pipes.
Well done again James , you made it look simple.
The only thing i find difficult about Plumbing is Finding a Good Plumber :-))
James this the best video on RUclips for recessed shower installation. Thumbs up to you Sir 👍 10 out of 10

As always a great job with lots of useful hints 👍
cheers Stephen.

Great news mate! Good luck.
Excellent video. Exactly what I am looking for. I want to get something like that in my place 😅.

Do you not need to flush pipework to prevent crud from blocking up filters?
You can chase Thermalite neatly (and with less dust) using a multi tool with a regular cutting blade

Happy New Year PP 🎊
Cheers dude!

High pressure/large gap filler
Hi, which type did you go with? I would be grateful for some guidance! Thanks!
How to you access the valve if you need to repair for leak ?
Great video
Thanks
Would liquid ptfe work on those threads too?
Nice job . I’m not one for hiding compression fittings but i guess the male female threads in the valve assembly are no different
Yeah it's the nature of the beast!
if you had put the rail in the middle you would of had a few more holes in your pipe?
Yeah I know...mad moment!
I thought it was slightly offset so nay
C,Mon James, I need to get in touch with you😎
Good job

Hello mate thinking about going into problem is it possible to ask you some questions on how I should start tools ect ? College ? Thanks mate 👍
Did I miss the isolating valves to allow cartridge servicing?
They're on the backside ;)

Design fault the main shower head should come out the top not the side the bath one now has to cross over to get to the bath

Is there any particular reason why you solder the joints compared to silver brazing ?
Brazing is overkill, more expensive/more time. Brazed joints are only needed for extra strength when buried.
James how you extend the outlets if youve been done over by the plasterer????
Use a compression fittings stripped down or a 1/2" coupling (male to female)

another method of working out which outlet does what is to just blow through the cold inlet instead of water like james said. you dont get wet then.
I did try that...but there's no returns in there...and no matter how hard I puffed I couldn't beat them! Nearly dislocated my jaw! 😂
How do you stick your bricks together?
CT1 and LOADS of it!

Always find it difficult to fit concealed shower valves into bricks. Maximum chase depth is 1 3rd the depth of the brick so about 30mm.
Thanks
