Thank you for this video, as a hunter that uses primitive projectile weapons I have found that these calls for small game are a serious help in drawing in game when tracking has either been exhausted or the game is a bit jumpy from over hunting firearm using hunters. I will put this to use when I have a chance to and I will inform of my results, again thanks.

@leevwj4 Are you referring to whistling with your lips or a manufactured whistle call? I was just wondering, because what if you are in the wilderness and you forgot or whistle call on the coffee table?
@SOS2054 yes with my lips...no tools of any company made or hand made things...cause i don't trust those things....i would like to post it up but then i don't have my camera at the moment..so yeah...guess i can't share it with you guys....untill i get the camera and record it...

I made one like yours in this video, but with a strip of latex rubber (from a high quality glove), the same width as the whistle. Getting the tone slightly higher than the pheasant, and cupping my hands around it, I get quite a close sound to the pheasant, but not perfect.

Our Gambel and Scale quail sorta sound like this...when they've been eating over rippen fruit :)
@kicknbass4life :You can use most any plant that has at least 1/2 diameter, but make sure the plant or tree you use is not a poisonous one...

What kind of quail are u calling, Because bobwhite sound nothing like that....!!!
