It sounds like the 1 that did your insert needs to teach so others how to do it properly so that hopefully the pain isn't as bad as what I just experienced
I’m a mom of 4, and just got the mirena yesterday and my lord, it was sooo painful! But after getting my tubes tied and 3 years later and been on my period for not exaggerating, an entire year, the Mirena is what we opted for and I’m praying it either stops my periods or at least calms them down so I’m not losing so much blood every day as I was becoming anemic a month ago(started taking iron pills so hope that helps) but really hope I made the right choice and the Mirena helps with my PCOS as well.
I get mine next week, the doctor said to be on your period, closer to the end when it's your lighter days, so it would be much easier. i live 20-30 mins from the clinic i pray i dont get real bad cramps while driving. Thanks for sharing
I’ve heard that also, they say because the tissue is softer so it doesn’t hurt as much. I did mine post partum. I don’t think the cramping was bad enough to affect your driving 🙏🏾❤️. Thanks for watching and good luck ❤️❤️❤️
It helped not looking at it, but i was very lucky. Got it inserted yesterday, was just a bit of pain for a minute when measuring and insertion, but after ive been good! Just a bit of cramps, but they pass and if they git a bit worse, painkillers did it for me! Im pretty much back to normal again 😍 Not worse than period cramps
I'm a mom of 3 just got mine today and it was sooo painful 😣 i do have a great pain tolerance tho I'm still feeling uncomfortable or minor cramping/pain i hope it'll subside asap but ty so much for the vid i did learn some new things for sure
How long is the spotting supposed to last? I’ve spotted the firs week. Got my period the 2nd week, I’m still bleeding I think it’s still period due to the shedding. I just want to have a better idea on how to accurately keep track of my period now that I have this symptoms.
It honestly depends on your body. In the beginning I spotted for what felt like months, at least the first few months. Once my body fully adjusted to the IUD I now can easily track my period vs. intermittent spotting.
When I first got mine my spotting lasted for months ( I don't remember the exact amount of time). I can't say whether it's normal or not because every situation is different, however spotting is expected. If you are concerned I would recommend a follow up with your doctor.
@@MommaNurse Thanks, it my first time on IUD so I’m not really sure what to expect. I switched from the injections to the IUD. At least they are lighter then my heavy and painful periods.
So, once the IUD is inserted the string should NOT move. However, different circumstances may cause the string to move which is why you have to do the monthly string check (as a precaution). If you do your string check and cannot find it, wait about an hour (or find a new position) and check again. If you still cannot feel it then you should call your doctor because it may have migrated. I hope this helps and thanks for watching ❤️❤️❤️
The most common side effects are bleeding, possible cyst formation, headaches, abdominal or pelvic pain. These are the most common. There is also a risk of infection. I hope this helps. I will be posting a 3 year update video soon.
Almost a month later I am happy with my choice.
how long did it take for your body to get adjusted i got mine last week and the cramping hs been rough
@@missshaunaleee my cramping went away the same day I got it, only lasted about an hour or two.
how long did you bleed? if any
@@anitafayent after the initial placement only about a day or two. After everything has settled I bleed /spot frequently.

Putting it on my list now to do an updated video. Thanks for watching.
I agree I was fine up until I saw all the instruments sitting on the table lmao
They can be pretty intimidating 😅😅😅

Yes! The first few hours can be a little uncomfortable with the cramping. It should subside within a day or two (at most). Thanks for watching ❤️❤️❤️

Thanks for watching. All I have to do is film it. Coming soon.
I have frequent spotting. Usually last a week or two. I got it inserted back in March of this year. Is that normal to have spotting until now? Thanks.

I have a question, I’m getting the mirena IUD this week and will I gain weight?
I have not heard of gaining weight from an IUD. I’m not saying it’s not possible but I have not heard of that.
U mention checking the string and that kinda scares me 😂 so I'm curious doing intercourse does the string move and do you have to find it?
