@@ccalexander1924 thanks for adding. The PRN position that I took had an alternative where if you keep up with your education the position will be held. Not many hospitals do that but this one does. And some will make accommodations if it is prearranged also, I’ve worked with nurses who agree to come back every “X” amount of weeks to stay active.

Post test was simple. I pay attention to content and take good notes so that helped.

For the first 3 babies I used the Medela Pump (I believe is the name of it). I would say I do, I delivered all 4 of my babies without medication. The key to minimizing the pain for IUD insertion is having it inserted around week 4-8 after delivery since the cervix is still softer. This was the recommendation of the provider that inserted mine. She said she experienced more pain when she got hers because she didn’t have any children yet.

@@shaliniyashu4926 yes! The purpose of power pumping is to stimulate your breasts to think baby needs more milk which will motivate your milk ducts to produce more milk. It’s a process. @@chandaelizabeth3046 congrats to you momma! Sounds like you are doing an awesome job. I can imagine how hard that is with not sleeping throughout the night. It sounds like you have tried many options. What I would recommend would be creating a nice soothing bedtime routine (I’m sure you already have one). But, something that will help him sleep longer periods. Try maybe milk with cereal since it’s heavier. Last but not least you may have to try the cry out method…allow him to cry. If he cried then he may be more willing to take the bottle with the breast milk. Lots of trial and error to see what he will accept. Don’t give up momma you’re doing great. Just to be clear you are restarting your milk production, correct? If so, it will take more work and more time to get your milk supply back and it may not be where it once was but, you will see some increase. So, once the IUD is inserted the string should NOT move. However, different circumstances may cause the string to move which is why you have to do the monthly string check (as a precaution). If you do your string check and cannot find it, wait about an hour (or find a new position) and check again. If you still cannot feel it then you should call your doctor because it may have migrated.
