I don’t know if your wife realizes how freaking skilled you are at creating and teaching art. You should have millions of followers and likes. I’ve taken classes from many different really good artists and you are one of the best instructors!
I really appreciate that, I wish I had that many, I would only concentrate on teaching at that point and leave the medical field! I’m working on new painting tutorials currently, and I have a desert scene in acrylics being edited and will be out soon! Don’t forget to click the Bell Notification button so you’ll get notified when a new tutorial comes out!
When your viewers ask, ''Is the paint expensive?", your reply takes up time from other viewers; that question takes a long time to answer for that individual particularly, because 'it all depends' . The best thing for viewer to do, and obviously they have access to the internet, is look it up. Depends on :brand, quality, store, country and much more! I'm sorry if I sound belligerent! Please don't block me, I am learning so, so much from watching your videos even though I've been painting as a hobby for decades, but learning from you is on top of my list of youtube teachers. Yesterday I bought 30 small canvases with plans to do at least one (of your paintings) per day! Thanks so much, Gebahi!
Thank you very much for such a detailed tutorial! Not many useful tips you can find about painting acrylics. You made it beautiful! I'm so glad I found you.
Also learning more about mixing colors to know what we can create! Nice ☺️ doing, in sequence is a great idea so you don’t rush and give yourself time to think how and where you want to go next 🤩
I love doing Nature because it’s always going to be different in all respects as Nature is unpredictable, it’s not perfect but actually it is because it’s Natural that’s what makes Nature🥰🙏
It’s sort of like defining your clouds with the lites and darks to me , am I right ? As far as going over the tree tops and around with either lite or dark .I think the more different strokes help define the art work too 😊🫶
I love your painting and teaching style! I am UK based and I want to have a go at acrylic painting. This all SO helpful for me. I love the colour mixing tips and brush techniques to create a natural effect, without brash colours. Thank you! Sue
I am a beginner on painting with acrylic. Felt so lucky to have chanced upon your tutorial video. Your instructions is clear and at a comfortable pace to follow. I am so inspired by your beautiful art work. Looking forward to more of your painting tutorials videos !
You’re so talented! Thanks for sharing ! (your wife could be more respectful , vacuum is annoying) Seeing this for the first time and I love your pace of sharing!
You are NOT frying my brain, LOL! This is exactly what I was looking for. I am about to take my first acrylics class. I have been doing watercolors for years but want to learn about this medium. Thanks for the educational video. I have learned soooo much, even tips that will help me with my watercolors. And to answer the question of expense, as a beginner, initially it seems like a lot just to bring in the basic supplies, but as with all my watercolor supplies, the expense is the same except you are not buying everything all at once, just when you run out of one thing. I really am going to watch this and take serious notes. So much information here.
Thank you Claudia!! Since you e done watercolor it should be an easy transition into acrylics and use almost the same techniques in building up the layers!! And you’ll be able to control the water on your brush just as easily!
First time I found your videos, but I think I would tell the wife and family to stay a little more quiet so you don't need to yell and you can give your instructions you are a good teacher.
Cheri Brown thank you very much Cheri!!! Keep practicing, I promise it gets better and easier. I paint almost every chance I get, and if don’t like it I just re use it or rework the painting until I like it, because you lose nothing in the end !
I just happened to find this video and decided to check it out while I was making my morning coffee. GREAT CLASS. Love the layering. Love the loose style. I am hoping I can translate some of your class to my paintings of the New Mexico landscape. You know, I've been watching art instruction videos online during the last few months, since I have returned to painting after a LONG hiatus and have decided to work with acrylics. I painted with oils when I was younger, but I had more time then! I'm old and I've got to hurry, I went to watercolors, which were fun and bright and spontaneous, but it isn't a longlasting medium, and the matting and framing is so complicated and expensive, I had a desire to go BACK to the oils. But oils take forever to dry, so I've switched to acrylic and also acrylic gouache, because I like the "drier" look of the gouache. I DO like the more transparent acrylics and I love working in layers, which I actually used to do with watercolors, in some of my works. SO - your instruction is ideal for me, especially since your painting style is very much like mine AND I am currently working on a series of landscapes, emphasizing the New Mexico sky. The clouds are incredibly difficult to capture. I'm going to take some tips from you and see if I can capture these remarkable skies. I've subscribed and liked and I hope that you are still producing these videos for a good long time to come. I've got lots to learn before I die. P.S. Please tell your wife that I am quite sure she could have found another time to vacuum without ruining your video. Seems passive aggressive, to me. Does she not take your art seriously? That's a mistake. Sorry if I'm being rude. The sound of the vacuum really irritated me.
I totally appreciate your complements, thank you!! I get what you’re saying, and believe me when I say I took the same route. I tried watercolors and loved how it looked but hated that it wasn’t permanent and needs special care when framing, so I tired gouache, which I like actually and have a couple lessons on the subject, but also needs special attention in order to frame! Acrylic can mimic both mediums and is permanent, so it was a win-win. Now I go back and forth with oils, which is the medium I started with, and it all depends on my mood and size of the piece. I initially didn’t like acrylics at at all but learned online from a few acrylic painters earlier on and learned to master it, and it became my dominant medium! It’s convenient in many ways and there are no rules to follow, it’s the Honey Badger of the mediums. I hope you stuck to it cause I will have more videos coming and I’ll have a zoom class with up to 10 people where you can interact with me and ask questions as you and I paint or if you just want to watch along and take notes! Stay tuned!! Thank you very much for your support!!
I am just starting and there is nothing I want to learn to paint! I love the way you teach. I can’t find Indian yellow, but will use what I have. It helps a lot to see the palette. Thank you.
You can find Indian Yellow at Michaels in the Liquitex line. Also you can try Amazon. Indian Yellow is transparent so I prefer the heavy body paint. Cad Yellow dark is very similar but if titanium white is mixed with Indian Yellow it's more intense than Cad Yellow mixed with titanium white. You should be fine with Cadmium Yellow Deep, though.
So beautiful and I am new to this site! I love your layering adding more texture. Best I have ever seen , I do wish we could see more of you mixing colors as you talk about it. You are super patient, and it shows! THANK YOU for sharing.
You're such a good painter and instructor that I'm so impressed with your skills for details and your talent to transmit your knowledge that I had a lot of things to do and I didn't move until you finished. Thank you for sharing your great talent. Your lovely wife, next time, please, wait for another hour for the cleaning, there was too much noise😢❤
New subscriber..October 17, 2023 Thank you.. for sharing you tips & tricks.. and you gift of painting. Very therapeutic. Voice is very nice..a wonderful teaching tone.. Really enjoyed this video. Thanks ( no music).. enjoying hearing brush sounds.. stroking & tapping.
By far the best how to I've found. After watching many many videos this one finally grabbed me. Been searching a long time for something to spark my interest that doesn't seem overwhelming to begin. Thanks so much.
I just found your channel and love your style of painting! Being a native Floridian, I truly appreciate your stunning landscapes. Thank you for such informative tutorials on working with a limited palette and mixing colors that work well together.
you really helped me out alot. i just did my very first picture of a ocean and sunset and i see i waisted alot of paint on it. you hsve no idea how many times i took a wet rag and eiped the whole thing clean and started over. when i put paint on top of psint it eould go through to the canvase and u coyld not blend my colors together for a softer look. its very frustrating. but ive never paint before in my life but ive always to. im 57 now and have nothing else to do so i want to paint and trying to teach myself online by watching others. ide lke to show u this painting snd get your feedback. my waves and sun are terrible my clouds to. would apreciate advice
Thank you Very much Tina, I’m glad the tutorials were helping you!! I have a Facebook page where you can post your painting and message me directly! Here is the link: Www.facebook.com/gebahiartworks
This is the first time I've seen your channel. I really truly enjoyed your instruction and watching how you're laying those colors in I've had such a hard time with watercolor and I don't have enough room to be able to paint oil I think I will try acrylics. I really like your technique and one thing I finally got is that you have to go in layers and you have to go quickly and in acrylics you have the option of changing if something isn't right whereas in watercolors I wasn't able to paint transparently enough. Thank you I will join your channel.
Thank you very much!! Acrylics is the honey badger of mediums, there are basically no rules, and can be applied like watercolors or oils depending on your technique. It’s a very versatile medium!
Very good. I had it turned down a bit, then turned it up. I literally thought the vacuum was the noise of the ocean, and you were painting plein air. 😂 You are very easy to follow.
Thank you very much for this great demostration ! normally I paint watercolors, but sometimes I try to paint an acrylic painting. this was very helpful I think (I hope 🤔 )!
I would love to see you paint a Florida marsh. Your method of layering would be interesting to see. There was a touch of a marshy look to this landscape, but without the still water in the grasses. The marshes themselves are beautiful and the birds that hang in the marsh are wonderful. I'm recently using oils again after quite a long time with watercolor and pastel and your acrylics translate well to oil. So informative.
Sound of the owl? Hahahaha! The ending song lyrics made me think of Jessa's owl story! Love all three of you and this episode rocked! Thanks for sharing!
Heavy body Liquitex is my first choice golden is my second choice, and with these paints you get what you pay for hmm my personal choice. This painting is so calming to me. Thank you,
I’m really enjoying your tutorial. There are things I knew about the technical properties of binders but had forgotten. I love your easy going commentary. Your work is very nice. You inspire me to work in acrylics again. Thank you.
Thank you for a very beautiful and instructive tutorial. I have painted a few of your tutorials and they are some of my favorite paintings. Can’t wait to try this one!!
Great job I like the way you could the landscape with light layers and varying tones. I sometimes do my background with all greys and I find it makes it easy to find your oddities that your conscience mind doesn't see.
JUST DISCOVERED YOU ON UTUBE - I am an absolute beginner but felt like i could follow what you do - just my own as I watched - feel like I've learned loads and might even learn to love acrylics thankyou so much
Just found you and so happy I did! I am learning so much from you. Your explanations and directions are simple to follow and sharp and clear. Am looking at and listening to your past tutorials as often as I can. Can’t wait for the next one! Thank you for putting so much time into this.
Thank you very much, I’m glad you found me, I’m working on a new video for doing oils over acrylics, so stay tuned and hit the notification button and subscribe so that you don’t miss out if haven’t already done so!
This was an excellent tutorial. And it is in Florida! Im just starting in acrylics after spending time painting watercolor. I’m attempting to paint plein air here in Florida and this will help. I like your style and hope to paint like you…eventually.
Thank you for taking the time to talk through the painting, best video I’ve watched. Looking forward to attempting to paint grasses as a starter to a scene . Will be looking for more of your tutorials. Take care.
5:28 pm Your paintings are very mesmerizing to watch. I am a beginner and I am going to try to do one. I love the expression that your paintings show. Is there a painting I should start with . Keep up the great work in helping us beginners. Lola

Woww. How could we enter in his private life ? Maybe e the artist likes to paint at his home. Seems to me that an atelier or studio is expensive !
@@souzanemayes5670maybe he wants to be near his family rather than being away from them, since he does this in his free time.
