Jenn you are a writer an yet everything is a "situation" when you talk about food. Having sauce on the side is not a situation. Adding heat to something does not make it a spicy situation. Not trying to nick pick but, you can do better than some hipster overuse of a word that does not even fit what you are talking about. It is the same with people who call everything Epic or women who call everything cute.
Were they planning to stab each other with the chopsticks? My mother would have slapped me in the head with her slipper if I had done that when we were kids.
Neither of them knows how to hold nor use chopsticks properly. Their mothers must be embarassed by their poor skills. Someone needs to smack their hands and give them forks instead.
