    Am a teenage daughter myself, I was the one that initiated building my pc and my dad being a machinist was interested, took us 6 hours just cuz I had to explain what everything did to my dad and it being the first PC I've built.
    there's a few little quirks to it, the back fan wasn't plugged in, the radiator screws dont sit flush against the case so the filter has 3 visible bumps, and the USB A port on the front of the case doesn't work for the simple fact that I gave up after trying for 30 or so minutes, and the 2nd fan on my radiator isn't connected to a CPU_FAN header so it isn't running full tilt during turbo boosts, regardless the hottest my i7 has gotten is like, 70c.
    I watched you and others, Jay, to feel competent and confident enough to build a computer, parents weren't confident, they had a fire extinguisher ready, but thank you for taking some time in your videos to explain the little nuisances of computers.

    • @mrubiquity8090
      @mrubiquity8090 2 года назад +32

      But you did it and that's the most important part. Even if there were some hiccups, mistakes, or things that didn't work or look as you hoped, it's experience for the next build you put together.

      Haha, they actually had a fire extinguisher ready!? You are probably smarter than what your parents think of their little baby girl. For the two radiator fans, just use a fan splitter to connect them together. But I guess you probably already know this...

    Yeah, Genshin Impact is pretty lightweight. I've played it on my current rig, which is ancient (4 core 4 thread sandy bridge core I5 2400, paired with 8GB ddr3 and a Nvidia Geforce GT730, all in a small form factor low profile PC) and it plays fine, only not on maxed out settings. I did put two SATA ssd's in raid0 for lower load times in games, but increasing from 8 to 12 GB ram didn't do anything noticeable for the light gaming I do, and my additional GT710 to make a 6 screen setup is only relevant for my niche work needs. A year and a half ago I built my friend a new PC with a Ryzen5 3600 and a RTX 2060, and he has no problems playing what he wants how he wants to. You don't need top end stuff to enjoy yourself.

      @@ChronologiXFG It depends on your use case, if a person is only doing light gaming, web browsing and productivity tasks. You don't need top of the line components anymore. PCI-E 3.0 is plenty for most folks and now with PCI-E 5.0 being pushed into the mainstream, PCI-E 4.0 will be relegated to the "low end" components so no, you will no longer need top end components.
