I have a 1999 Solara and it is EXACTLY the same. Something inside the door broke can't open driver door no resistance on door handle hoping it's just the door rod clip. I am so glad you made this video, bless your heart, I can now remove the door panel with no worries. Your video is the ONLY video I could find for a Solara door panel removal. Thank you Mr. Romo.

Couldn't find any videos on how to change side view mirror on 2000 Toyota Solara but then I stumbled upon your video and it answered my question thanks brother man the Lord Jesus Christ bless you!
Just wanted say thanks so much for the video. I have been trying forever to find one to help replace my the track in my window thanks so much. If we keep going on the Solara my next project is replacing valve cover gaskets
Raul, thank you for taking the time to make this video. It was instructive and helped me figure it out. I'm looking forward to making your fast hot salsa next. Keep up the good work! - Anthony
Thanks man! My Solara is 99 and this procedure definitely applies.I was hesitant to do it myself. I broke my door handle by accident and was checking if I need to take the whole door panel off to replace it. I'll work on it and perhaps upload a video.
Very helpful, thank you so much! The part about removing the door panel strip was especially helpful, exactly what I needed. :) hard to find videos on Solara repairs.
Jeff Petersen oh do you mean the window regulator? Those usually just unbolt. Its best to buy one that already comes with a new window motor, less likely to have issues. Just look up how to remove and replace a window regulator in a Toyota Camry, corolla, etc. most of them are pretty straight forward.
Great video, the one screw in the door switch handle cup is covered up by a small pad. I'm tinting my windows too. Yes, I will have to redo the passenger window in the near future because I didn't remove the door card first. Toyota has a very tight seal at the window. Again great video.
Super helpful! My passenger side mirror broke and I'm trying to figure out if I'll need to remove the entire panel to replace it, or if the wiring components are only at that top corner. I've seen in some slightly later model years that it's not necessary to remove the panel to replace the mirror. Any insight into this for the 2000 model?
Elijah Perez glad it helped you out. Subscribe to my channel its free. It helps me out with youtube, because i make a few dollars a month which helps with the costs of making these videos for you guys at no charge. I need to get to 1000 subscribers before the end of February. I am at 910. I appreciate it if you can subscribe. This will help me continue to make different videos
Adam olson door seal is on the door panel. Some people tuck the seal to tint. I don't like doing that, because it gets bent and distorted. Easier to remove panel with seal and tinting it much easier
How did you end up doing the window tint? I have a 2001 solara and I ordered a precut kit and I’m unsure of the best way to apply the tint without creasing it when trying to tuck it into the seal
RV Lunar Shift i remove the panel like in this video, to get under the seal. I don’t like to tuck the seals, because they can sometimes get all bent up and sometimes tear if they are weathered.
Raul Romo so if you cut it right above the window seal above the door panel, does it not get messed up over time with rolling window down? And it would it be possible to just take out the glass and then apply the tint onto the glass, and once semi-cured put glass back in door?
Its rare i get these older cars in my shop, let alone for speaker replacement. I showed how to remove the door panel. Thats the hardest part. Taking 4 screws off the oem speaker and cutting 2 wires and hooking them to a new speaker is not hard at all. You can figure out that out
@@mikeh457 you can Solder or use crimp caps at the ends of the speaker wire. Most new speakers come with wire. The wire goes to the speakers ( those ends have female connections). The other end has nothing. You connect those to the car speaker wires. Look up the color codes to see which is positive and which is negative. On the aftermarket speakers, the fat connector is usually the positive wire, or the speaker connection has a plus sign or a red dot. I think i have a video on a mazda that i show how to replace factory speakers. That would be a good guide.
you will have to remove seats through the other door, and try to unscrew the door panel and might end up breaking parts of the door panel. then you can check to see why it is not opening. it will be a real pain to do this, sorry i don't have more positive news for you
Raul Romo ...i know this is late...but maybe the window switch panel could be removed to insert a boroscope video camera inside the door. That might help to get the door open... it's a tough one though!
Usually you start by removing the lower part of the seat first. Some Toyota vehicles you just pull up on the front on the seat. Some have a little pull tab that you pull towards the front of the car then it pops the seat up and you pull out. Others also have a 10mm bolt in between the top part of the seat and the lower part that needs to be removed. Once the lower part is removed. There might be a few bolts on the bottom holding it in. Seat then slides up alittle and unhooks and you can remove. The rear panel on most just pops up and you slide it out. If you notice that the side panels are on top of the rear deck, the they have to be popped off first, then the rear deck will come out. Good luck
You might want to call a dent guy. But if you want to do it yourself, it will be alot of work. You will have to remove the lower part of the seat, and most likely the upper part of the seat. I am not sure if the rear tray sits on top of one of the side panels by the window. That might need to come out the small side panel by the rear window and then the side panel. You might be able to just remove lower part of the seat and move side panel enough to get in there. Good luck
Man, I have a 2005 Solara SE and it's got and it's got different door panels.. The only screw that matches matches is the one by the hinge and the 2 on the bottom.. This is for 1999-2003 not 2005 models. Shouldn’t be to difficult to figure out how to remove the door panel. I looked up a picture of your door panel and it has a little access door that you have to remove by the handle that you open the door with. There is a small screw there, and you have to pry up on the back side of the window switch panel. There is probably a screw underneath that piece. Do not pry this part from the front, because it has a small hook like leg. And if it has screws at the bottom of the door remove those too and that should let you take the panel off

Front: 6-3/4"Rear: 6" x 9"this is for a 03 solara
