for anyone curious about "duct tape dummies" those are sent to fursuit makers so they can get the buyers size just right. however they usually dont involve a head or any attempt to make it look like anything other than a duct tape body suit so its a bit silly this person made a full on head and bunny tail for their dummy. we did get a pretty iconic cursed image outta it at least

As someone deep in the trenches of the Furby fandom and Tumblr Furby community (what can I say, I love the little weirdos and I also love the creativity of the customizers who alter them), I just have to say that the commission prices that one artist was charging were *very* much a lowball, and probably a case of a newer artist undercharging for their craft. I usually see long Furbys sell for around $200 - $400, especially if they're made to order/customized in any way.

for anybody actually curious, it's just the general body proportions, legs to neck generally. Gives the suit creator some sort of idea of what they're working with. In this case it looks to be more of a shitpost than anything.

Long furbies still have a thriving community, as well as other intentionslly strange or unsettling customizations along those lines. Theyre called oddbody customs and those who enjoy them sre highly encouraged to make and name their own, whether from a whole furby or from scratch with a 3d printed faceplate. One of my favorites is named Buttered Noodles, shes an icon.

Just to comment on what a "Duct Tape Dummy" is, typically you construct one as part of fitting for a fursuit or other full-body costume. After being wrapped in duct tape over a full-body painter's smock or other underlying layer and then getting cut out of it, you're supposed to stuff it with newspaper before shipping it off to the fursuit or costume maker. It's unusual to see someone make a duct tape dummy with the intent of wearing it.
I do want to clarify the duct-taped bunny image: A duct tape dummy is what is commonly used by furries in order to create a body dimensions reference when commissioning fursuits. Standard practice is for duct tape to be applied up to the neck, wrists, and ankles, and for it to be cut off down certain seams. It will be mailed to the maker, who will attach it back together and temporarily stuff it in order to get a customized fit for the commissioner. Fun fact: you have to t-pose while applying the duct tape, or it won't be shaped properly. This is also one of the reasons why fursuits are expensive: every one is customized down to the smallest detail, and why you can't get one off a generic e-commerce site. This guy, though, decided to take it much further for unknown reasons. Seeing as it's on FA though, he probably did it for shits and giggles

I clicked on this video specifically because of the "death by peas" image in the thumbnail. That one's always been one of my favorites.
As someone deep in the trenches of the Furby fandom and Tumblr Furby community (what can I say, I love the little weirdos and I also love the creativity of the customizers who alter them), I just have to say that the commission prices that one artist was charging were *very* much a lowball, and probably a case of a newer artist undercharging for their craft. I usually see long Furbys sell for around $200 - $400, especially if they're made to order/customized in any way.

Just to comment on what a "Duct Tape Dummy" is, typically you construct one as part of fitting for a fursuit or other full-body costume. After being wrapped in duct tape over a full-body painter's smock or other underlying layer and then getting cut out of it, you're supposed to stuff it with newspaper before shipping it off to the fursuit or costume maker.
It's unusual to see someone make a duct tape dummy with the intent of wearing it.
I do want to clarify the duct-taped bunny image:
A duct tape dummy is what is commonly used by furries in order to create a body dimensions reference when commissioning fursuits. Standard practice is for duct tape to be applied up to the neck, wrists, and ankles, and for it to be cut off down certain seams. It will be mailed to the maker, who will attach it back together and temporarily stuff it in order to get a customized fit for the commissioner. Fun fact: you have to t-pose while applying the duct tape, or it won't be shaped properly. This is also one of the reasons why fursuits are expensive: every one is customized down to the smallest detail, and why you can't get one off a generic e-commerce site.
This guy, though, decided to take it much further for unknown reasons. Seeing as it's on FA though, he probably did it for shits and giggles
