There is a command, I think its space, which causes your build/reclaim orders to be divided out among the units you have selected. Like if you try to build a box of 16 Nanos with 16 constructors , if you include Space in the command, it will cause each constructor to go build its own Nano causing all 16 to start building. Its great for getting things placed down fast, but I do not know exactly what requirements it has. I think if you have any commands queued before it, it wont work, but it seems like a very useful command to master.
Yep, minefields too go up super fast with shift+alt+space. And the queue works, say you have 5 builders you can say hold shift space to build 5 dragons teeth at the same time, then shift to build one HLT with all of them working together and then shift space to build 5 more dragons teeth seperately. .
The issue with that command is that ground based builders will often trap themselves or eachother doing it that way, because they just build willy nilly. Giving each individual constructor its own line of things to build will (usually) keep them from getting trapped, because each constructor constructs in the specific line that you command.
@@HonshuHigamori the issue there is have that many ground builders by the time you will be mass building, at the point you are mass building the build power used should be air constructors as only the blueprint really needs to be laid down, allowing a dense build
Maybe something you could try to avoid forgetting to protect your flanks is build something in the flanking route that'll give you an alert if it gets attacked. Put it just behind the furthest back the frontliner protecting that area will retreat to while still holding that front. If the enemy slips through, they destroy your 'canary' building, you get the alert and a bit more time to respond. lol call it the 'Canary Strat'. Anyway, yet again another lesson to decentralize your base. Maybe you could turn it into a routine when you get to the point that you've got all the tech and economy needed to maintain a solid front and are starting to scale up. Time isn't so critical at that point so it'd be worth getting some construction set up in the backline to start producing economic stuff. It wouldn't be a terrible idea, either, to shift some of your construction from static buildings to mobile units. You'd also remove your locational constraints, making it an easier decision to avoid nihilistic decisions. "Well if this dies it's GG anyway". Clearly it's not lol. Even if you decide to quit after getting your main blown up you at least retained some value to hand over to another player. No need to sink your team because of selfish lazyness. You said it yourself in a past video: Always think about what you can do to sway the game. Lowering the value of an enemy's successful strike can make a huge difference. Games don't end in losses just because you yourself faced a huge loss. Snowballing happens often, sure, but plenty of teams with players that quit go on to win out in the end. And maybe by making your main wipe less impactful you'll end up increasing that statistic. In warfare, loss is inevitable and positioning is always important. Not just for your frontlines but the backlines as well. And even if you lose almost everything, you're still a commander with 'leadership' to contribute. Use your micro to eke out some advantage for your team. At the very least, ask for some units to do some commando shit with. Fight till the last!
The problem is those thermal gens are basically nukes waiting to happen, and they're all in range of each other. Only way to prevent that would have been to not build *any* of the 5 thermal gens right there.
Hey uh.. maybe you know this by now cause of how old this video is, but that "restore" command for builders/rez. Its and order that can be used to lift the terrain back out of the lava. Maybe you learn that later in the video cause im only at that part, but i figured leaving a comment wouldn't hurt.
@Drongo You not giving up at 18:45 when my clan mate Poledarn did that tiger push of WIN makes me appreciate your channel so much. FAR too many people quit early in BAR these days and frankly they are idiots/poor sports. You can come back in BAR so much more than in other games. It's about ebb and flow so new players watching this, play out your games to the finish. While there are unwinnable conditions there are also so many times and early "GG" happens due to psychology not "fate".
You can not come-back if your team do not give you stuff like one AFU or one T2 builder, some people are just careless althrought they play multi-player instead of 1vs1 or 2v2…
5:30 you said you're gonna have to build a nanoturret to reclaim the commander : you could have asked for your mates for an air transport, and transport one of your nanos there, reclaim the commander, then transport it back.
So, for the confusion on the plasma shields/deflectors. I tested this out and what I found was that they only work well for "glancing" blows. If the gun is firing right at you and it doesn't have to arc much it will go through and be able to hit the units in the front half of your shield. It works wonderfully when you have two that are slightly offset. The first one disrupts the arc, the second one then allows it to roll off and away.
Funny thought that might be op... use nanos in base to build AA turrets in base... build/buy T2 air transport and use it to transport AA to front line.
Yeah, I wanted to leave earlier in the game my self. We start with 3 bottom then 2 once the other left. Their was so many times at bottom where any kinda spam( other then scouts) would of killed me and my team so much sooner. Also wasn't my best either with the new layout with the map. I honestly thought it was over as soon as i saw your teams Adv Geo go boom. Btw i died at the 45:52 when the rags shot slips into our team Adv Geo even though we had like 5-6 shields guarding them. When makeing shield gens apparently you need to make sure that there isnt any "Hills and valleys" in the wall of shields because a round can be forced BY the shields them selves into the ground even though there is a shield their. GG all
Did you know that if you hold space+x while having a building selected, you get a red explosion radius for it and a larger yellow one for the self destruct explosion radius.
A strategy I have puting a little thought into. Is for the whole team to share their builds to each other after tier 2 or twenty twenty-five minutes in. That way no one gets wiped out entirely and the enemy team can't really single out a player any more by destroying their economy. Also gives more value and responsibility to the backline techers.
The only issue is getting a bunch of random people to agree to a selfless action xD. I think as a backline i almost ALWAYS share a fusion and converter to guy that died so he can build back.
This is a pretty good strat in the late game for something like the Straits. Lots of players near the front lose their bases while the backline has such a massive eco that they simply can't macro efficiently later on. At that point, you have to start donating eco around to make sure the eco is spent efficiently.
You should drop Junos in there bases to try and blind them before an attack, and even in between attacks to keep them busy and occupied. The more distractions, the more chances for mistakes.
You might want to consider trying a mix of spam if someone is using Junos. 2-4 plants spamming Pawns while the rest spam out Ticks might be a good play. That way, you'd at least get a little bit of vision after the Juno.
Should get back into BAR. Used to keep the basic stuff around for someone. As you can come back so damn quickly in this game. And would have shared AFUS/metal for Thors etc. asap too.
Sniper can be good but not longest range the only thing is invisibility plus the energy spent for them to fight is massive so they slow your eco until late game. But then normal t3 arty easily deals with snipers, Plus sniper is a support unit so radar jammers and welders are needed and hidden anti air. I think the best unit in game is Sheldon especially with t2 precession fatalities.
I can help but wonder what might have happened if you stuck with pawn spam instead of switching back and for from tick to pawn due to juno's. every time you have to switch you would pull back effectively undoing any progress in your push. and most of the time when you pushed your crossbows or archangels were too far back to support against their air patrol. had you brought the AA forward with you every time you may have established air dominance and not had to fall back. fun game to watch either way.
Is there a particular reason commanders are almost never ressurected? Like can you get most of the metal but leave some and then rez it? That way you have a Commander and got most of the metal?
Usually, I try to preserve my commander, but I accidentally eat him up completely. It is still possible to delf destruct him for the metal, and still revive him later on if yiu leave at least a fraction of metal in the wreckage. However, in order to resurrect a unit that has had metal taken away from its wreckage you need to put back the same quantity you took earlier. Hence why many players dont even bother with it and just reclaim it fully.
Not sure if you're really gaining anything by switching your spam factories back and forth between ticks and pawns. All the ticks that are walking to the front are already dead, and if you wait for the cloud to end before going back to ticks, you've already lost all the time that new ticks could have been walking. Like, the time to switch to ticks is however many seconds it takes them to walk to the front BEFORE the cloud ends. Easier just stick with pawns the whole way if you know you're going to get juno'd over and over and over?
I gotta say, commander vs commander gameplay in this game is really boring compared to Supreme Commander. It's absolutely dumb and anticimatic to see people destroying their own coms all the time. Coms should really be tankier, and not drop reclaim.
