I think it's a bit of a stretch to assume that's where he got it from, considering that's a very common phrase that's been around much longer than Red Alert 2, but maybe it's true.
In the event that t1 static artillery is a good play, remember that you can always reclaim it for the full cost once its usefulness has passed. Scorpions/pitbulls are also very effective deterrents vs t1 & early t2 units if your goal is to hold a spot during your t2 transition.
fun fact - YEP discovered that arm wind turbines are more cost efficient than adv fusions on this map and it's big enough to make thousands of them just use butlers to build them later, they have more buildpower than t1 cons
A handful of t1 air cons are also surprisingly good at spamming out wind or t1 converters. Get a lot of them, building up several spread out engi turrets, then alt + tab + space to have them all build their own sets of turbines. The turrets will help out immensely, too. A big part of spamming out turbines in the late game quickly isn't build power, but just putting down the blueprint. Several t1 air cons are mobile enough to usually keep 1 or 2 blueprints up at all times when there's a ton of turrets around, so you never have to wait around for another blueprint to be worked on. BTW, this will melt your computer and lag out lobbies if you get too many and try to do the split build order for too many buildings. Don't go too ham with it.
I just love the depth of this game, different map design plus the massive amount of different unit bring so much variety, thanks for the amazing video ! (Btw amazing bait and switch at 26:45 :D )
Note: Mausers/Quakers are actually a lot cheaper than Sheldons. Apart from azimuth limits, they suffer from low speed, but if you can setup a firing line with juwsut a few Bulls/Tigers for cover, they can fare even better than Sheldons. The key is to never turn around - that's a death sentence due to their slow turning rate.
Would be interesting to see if they could make wind speed elevation dependent. Like on this map the plateaus have more wind speed or on another map the mountains are high and don't have enough atmosphere for high wind, only in the valleys is the air thick enough to get power.
one of the better parts of sheldons is abillity to shutdown reclaim operations graverobbers/etcetera have a tendency to congregate when doing reclaim ops.
Yeah man, really enjoy the commentary on games like this, I always learn something new from a hotkey, to a unit function I wasn't exactly aware of. The 3v1 mentality as well, is a meal ticket, if their midliners didn't lose their minds it could have been a longer fight, the stronger mental prevails!
Sheldons are, hands down, the most oppressive unit in BAR, IMO. Just amazing bang for your buck, especially when it hits critical mass. Just the right fire rate, range, and speed to decisively hold or push a line. Guard them with a few heavier units and they can be just be an absolute pain to deal with without EMP.
Just a tip winter, in order to tully take advantage of the e-converters, you need an e storage when you reach 500+ E, I've noticed. A tip from random 36ts nub
Loving these videos Id really appreciate a bit more gameplay focus, I think I know what the T2 build you go is, but god knows I can't see the units half the time
Has anyone tried Centurions for Armada? They’ve got over 1500 health, do 180+ dps and have 330 range, but 45 speed (like the plasma or rocket bots). They build as fast as 3 grunts but take 250 metal. I find them really strong on defending a small area or on offense. One can solo a light laser turret.
They are awesome if you are to hold a small chokepoint, but will get outflanked by the cheaper, more numerous enemies (and if you have the same number of centurions as the enemy has of small-stuff, you either won already or you should really have build other stuff)
Oh no, he's not cringing after stay unreasonable anymore. I wish I could play BAR but my APM is far too low. I couldn't even keep up in the newbie only lobbies.
You really don't need APM to play BAR effectively. Maybe your problem is in other areas? Knowing how to grow your economy is super important but probably the most obtuse aspect of a game like this, since without somebody to tell you the optimal build order you're basically just performing trial and error until you start to hone in on a good one.
Beyond all reason, it's basically StarCraft 3 as far as I'm concerned, just waiting for the steam release and mass popular appeal, maybe also a voice pack by the man himself.
What was disgusting was the people in the chat downplaying the bullying and opposing any anti-bullying measures in the chat, after this happens. Makes you fear the BAR community is just gonna end up imploding like the old Spring one. I'm not saying go full woke, but outright bullying shouldn't be tolerated, and should be discouraged by the communication systems' design.
I like your gaming and comments, but would you set music mute ? I rather relax with my own music. Especially longer sessions like this one become tiresome because of alien music. Thank you for understanding.
BAR is so cinematic, it’s a great game, been enjoying it a while
Cinematic but you spend all the time looking at squares and triangles

My man's played red alert 2 love them desolator quotes. *scorched earth*

even for cortex the break-even point is only like 13 wind, the problem is finding enough space to put them…
@@zerker2000 yeah, that's why we see this only on riverrun, cos it has a lot of space to scale it

they also can't aim straight back
@@andrewgreeb916 That's what "azimuth limits" stands for.
love pamabama's green energy commitment, covering a sixteenth of the map in glorious windmills
ty Winter again for locking me onto this game

i love these commentaries. Keep the BAR content coming!!

If they couldn't be rendered useless by shield generators they'd cross the line into pure bullshit.

Hello Sir Winter,
We need more BAR videos.
Sincerely,
LordFatNut
BAR castings are great. Love them. And game is evolving as well. Long live the open-source projects.
you can't EMP the commander, believe fully unstunnable
I believe ticks cannot cross the rivers.
I like how you are using no hands when playing
Im learning the game as well.
Thank you for explaining why just giving units to a player just feels ineffective, I also felt that but couldn't gasp why.
What are your opinions on Tactical missile launchers?
I'm still very new to this game. How do you rotate the direction of your buildings?
use your "[" or "]" key, you can hit the "Keys" tab on the top right of the screen to learn of the hotkeys
@@lelekelelep thanks, I really do appreciate it
Recommend looking through controls and settings I maxed out unit range opacity so u could see it better some useful stuff there.
im so excited to see this really hoping i cant apply some of what you do to my own game
Loving these videos

moar BAR plizz winter we need more BAR content on youtube. amount of content for this game on YT is very low :(
I have the feeling in the Endgame you have no chance as armada against cortex. Am I wrong?
what happened to omega while you were watching the grunts bump into wind farms?
Would love more videos like this one!
Great video, as always. But would you be willing to post your twitch streams or stream to youtube

Most of the time you'd rather want a t2 option, but if you have a small space to hold and set up an auto heal order from your rez bots they work great
I don’t suck, I’m a porcupine. -Me from now on
Great to play the game and do the commentary after.
how do you turn the minimap black?

Don't think he'll do that, most people enjoy having a soundtrack as part of the video itself.
