  • Thermal drones have become an innovative tool in the fight against the rising issue of invasive hog populations. These drones are equipped with thermal imaging cameras that allow for the detection of hogs' heat signatures, even during the night or through dense foliage where visibility is limited. This technology enables wildlife management teams and farmers to efficiently locate and monitor hog populations, which are known for causing significant agricultural damage and ecological disruption. By providing real-time data and precise locations, thermal drones facilitate targeted control efforts, such as trapping or population management activities, with minimal disturbance to the surrounding environment. This approach not only helps in reducing the damage caused by hogs but also enhances the safety and effectiveness of wildlife management practices.

Does the noise of the drone spook the hogs where it can drive them right to you?

yeah awesome vid. Im in Australia and have been considering buying a Mavic 3T for pig spottng. Have been concerned that Id need to fly it pretty low to het a good ID, whi ch in turn would spook them. Looks like you spook them regularly, but it is that deliberate? Looks like you coral them with the drone at times. On average, how effective is the drone for finding the pigs from an altitude high enough to keep them calm?
    Thanks for the vid

Very effective most the time we identify and land the spot. We can usually spot up to .5 miles to a mile away
