Top segment lads.. as a gt86 owner myself, one of the first mods I would recommend doing is sticking some decent quality, slightly wider tyres on it.. have 225’s on some lighter 17 inch wheels and it feels incredible! Can’t wait to see how your build comes along.
If I can mention, if you haven’t got a wing already these look amazing with just a duckbill spoiler. If you follow the lines of the car the simple duckbill just fits it perfectly and enhances the looks amazingly well. But all of these cars no matter what age or manufacturer they all look great. Best handling car under a Porsche.
I saw a vid where someone used the vertical height adjuster lever (driver's seat only) in order to raise the seat, thus freeing the feet of the person sitting behind you. It seemed to make it much easier to have a passenger behind you
Great video, cinematography and audio quality is amazing and the conversation style review works really well. Some background music would be nice though. How do you think it compares to an NC mx5?
Thanks very much Tom, and thank you for your feedback. I think this car has some characteristics from the NC MX5, they both feel somewhat similar and are both very simple cars. Both are lovely to drive and are very drive focused but I think the GT86 has the edge in terms of performance as the horsepower trumps the MX5, but I guess it’s not much different!
These cars are great don't get me wrong. But the engine is dogshit without it being rebuilt ( not for power but for reliability ) Especially from 12 - 14
They had a recall for valve springs, yes. 2014 models onwards I believe are all good though! That said, you couldn’t boost the engines much without needing a rebuild 😂
These motors love running an E85 fuel tune, EL headers, and exhaust. Running those mods will bump the car’s power output to about 205whp. Simple affordable mods such as those, will keep it reliable and give it the extra power some people are looking for 😎
