    I have had several times when the auto shutoff didn't trip. I think I have it narrowed down to that sensing tube getting plugged up, setting out in the weather.

    3rd year into strip till on heavy black soil so far we are happy with it going to keep doing it until we have a problem there are fairly cheap used options. You don’t need to have the biggest and baddest brand new stuff when it comes to Strip Till you can make older or shop Built stuff work when you start to do the math comparing Strip Till conventional Till if you can maintain yield you can cut your inputs way down every system has its pros and cons. There’s some days that conventional tail is the golden ticket and there’s some days that Strip Till is the golden ticket. Just need to use the system that works best for you.

      @chrisbertrand3989 couple farms i have i think striptill would be great on and others i think it'd not be as good. I think every practice has its place for sure. I have some sandy/rocky knolls that we notill and it works great in those areas

    Yeah the ground is very hard this year, the rain we got has helped but hard pulling, disking was slow going but in good going i could grab b3 with 4430 and the 22ft deere disk going 4-5inches deep. Chisel some endrows and yeah that was tough enough. didnt break anything but dont wanna do it again like that. I cant believe the amount of people putting Anhydrous on with how wet it is but what ever floats there boat...

    • @iafarmer
      @iafarmer  2 месяца назад +2

      I was planning to do some anhydrous but like you, I think its just too greasy to do a good job, so I guess we will see how the spring goes

      @@iafarmer Yeah, I said fuck it and am doing all 32% next year, went with all liquid P&K, too, they just sprayed that on today, actually. Gonna prepay for a little of the 32% to kinda have my ass covered in case something stupid happens with the nitrogen market.

      @@kolewiebensohn what did you use for liquid p and k

    • @kolewiebensohn
      @kolewiebensohn Месяц назад

      @@chrisbertrand3989 So it's through a local agronomy business called Liqui-Grow. The formulations for P is 10-32-0/2, and K is supplied by 3-10-30. for the corn fertilizer we add boron, zinc, and sulfur with the p and k. It gets sprayed on in 15in bands and keeps it in suspension. First-year putting liquid on. Actually, the seed dealer has used liquid for years and swears by it.

    I forget if you have said before, but was that tractor ever turned up any at all? I sure like watching it work, especially doing tillage.

    • @iafarmer
      @iafarmer  2 месяца назад +2

      @404nitro not that I'm aware of. I've thought about putting one on, but I'd be afraid I'd hurt the motor or pull something apart behind it. It's a nice tractor to run, but has been a spendy one

    I’d get real bored of that I’d think. How much extra N do you put on for COC?
    I started out all no till and seem to do more and more tillage every year. For 2025 I don’t know that I’ll no till any. Chiseled some bean stubble to break motor in on the 44.
    Sucks about fuel. $2.70/gal here the other day

    • @iafarmer
      @iafarmer  2 месяца назад +1

      @samtalley791 I do 50 to 75 more in corn on corn. Biggest challenge I've had is getting a good,even stand and having enough nitrogen on early to help when residue is tying it up, so the blacker, the better in my experience. Fuel will probably be alot cheaper for 4 years now

    Sounding and looking good AJ! You sound tired...rightfully so. I'm so tired of Deere and their expensive parts...mainly all of them coming from CHINA these days too and all being manufactured by slave labor, most likely....Meanwhile CEO brags about profitability of Deere and how they've positioned themselves in the marketplace and he makes a record salary. I broke a similar style c spring on my Landoll VT...$105...THAT ya don't mind.

    • @iafarmer
      @iafarmer  2 месяца назад

      @EDBZ28 yes, I wish they would realize things aren't great out here for us using their products, and they are making it 10 times worse by outsourcing cheap, junk parts. I know a 20 year old guy that started as a mechanic for deere last year, and he gets paid 20 bucks an hour, no benefits and has to supply his own tools. Then they charge us 180 for him to work on our stuff, while the "supervisor" sits in his office most of the day avoiding people getting paid 130,000 a year.. Makes me fume
