Coach, first and foremost thank you for this channel, it’s amazing to watch and learn from someone as knowledgeable as yourself. It takes a special kind of teacher to be able to explain such nuanced and complex football in laymen terms for the uninitiated like us. Secondly, please please PLEASE get Charles Woodson on as a guest would love to see an interview with Chuck like you had with Brees.
This channel has been a revelation this season Coach. Loving the content. After watching for 25 years here in Ireland, I'm starting to understand how this whole thing works 😁
This could be a 2 hour video on their plays and id go pop some popcorn and keep watching.... This is like a teaser trailer for a MOVIE.... I need more! 😂 😂 😂
How long has it been since that one year in the Superbowl? They really love burrow but its been awhile lol got to show people something. Sucks being hurt all the time, missing games, it sucks but people gonna start looking at him now, been a few years.
To me the 80's and early 90's were the absolute best of the NFL. I feel free agency has hurt football. It's great for the players but for the fans not so good. There was simply no better football being played then when the NFC East was at it's peak. You had Gibbs, Parcells, Tom Landry and then Jimmy Johnson. And don't forget Buddy Ryan. For all his faults he really fielded some truly great defenses when he was with Philly. The 91 Eagles were #1 against the run and the pass. Just really high quality football being played during those years w/ a lot of great football players.
Gruden has a pretty large following for only being on here for a couple weeks. Happy to see him get the recognition he deserves. I know he'd rather be coaching but maybe this channel is what's meant for him
Jon, you have helped my coaching career just now! Please teach us more passing and pass-run plays! Not everyone has had the amazing coaching experience you have! THIS IS THE WAY! ❤❤❤❤
I wonder what Joe Montana's own "playbook" would sell for on the open market?!! Probably off the charts on the memorabilia market. This was a short and sweet video, but as a football/sports history buff, it was a great rare treat to look at! Thank you Coach Gruden for sharing your priceless mementos!!!
@@BTx933it,s all f,cking Roger, I called it 2012 Roger would ruin the NFL since that time till now it,s a hole different game , hope the Raiders bring Gruden back text year as an offensive cornnater
Love this style of video and wish it wasn’t so short. I think a breakdown like this showing the play being used in film with different outcomes would be awesome And with more plays too!
Oh yeah. That's the season the 9ers went 14-2 (best record in the league) and lost to the Giants in the NFC championship game because Joe was taking out by Leonard Marshall and destroyed his elbow! Otherwise, 9ers would have been the first team to three-peat super bowls.
@@nikolaivista920 I remember that game, and that hit was devastating in more ways than one, as Leonard Marshall essentially ended the 49ers reign of dominance throughout the 80s. I’ve heard Montana talk about that play, he said his ribs and chest hurt so much that he didn’t even realize that his hand was broken. In my opinion, those Niners were the closest any team ever got to winning three in a row, and I believe they would have if Montana hadn’t got hurt. A very close second would be the 1994 Cowboys, if Jimmy Johnson had stuck around, Dallas would’ve beaten the 49ers in the NFC Championship and cruised to an easy victory over the Chargers in Super Bowl 29.
can’t tell you how awesome it is see what you’re displaying on this channel. a real NFL mind enjoying the games and showing his thoughts/predictions across the all 22
You look hella good Mr. Gruden. The NFL really needs you back, if you need them. ANY College team would love you as a HC. Nice to see you here on YT. Love from Norway.
Life long Raiders fan, and its great to see ya again coach! These videos are amazing. Thinking of how much a guy would have to pay to sit down and hear Gruden explain football plays, then realizing were lucky to have ya on youtube now!
Hell ya, love the breakdown coach ! It is amazing how complex things go from peewee to varsity to college -now this insight into an NFL playbook - love how complex it is , lots more variation of the same base play for any situation
Your the man Jon!!! I never….NEVER post comments but felt compelled! Go Bucs Brother. I’m a Tampa resident and if ever the need or opportunity for just a normal football fan to join your football shanangans I’m all in! Love the new show!
Hell yeah, more of this! Need a breakdown of a favorite play by all the great QBs and the defensive calls to counteract them. One or two plays at a time, then a full compilation video down the road.
Cool content, when I watched the vid going though the different rooms and bookshelves worth of play books I would love for Jon to go through some of his famous/favorite games! Bring in players who played in those games if possible. Thank you and Keep up the good work!
The fact that we have people like Gruden, Kurt Warner, Steve Smith with youtube channels is crazy to me....and I love it. Thank for doing this coach!!!
Super Bowl 24. 49ers-Broncos. Joe Montana goes through the full progression and hits Jerry Rice over the middle for a TD on Red Right Slot A-Right 322 Y-Stick Looky. Beautiful.
Coach could you do some videos on reading football plays such as this for us Layman. I find it fascinating but lack the technical understanding of terms to get the most out of it. I would love to understand them better. Thanks I love what you are doing.
I love everything you're doing coach maybe one day you should break down game film after a team's hard loss or hard win if you really want to know football this is the channel I go to 💯
Amazing he took that … that playbook would probably go for $50K+ in an auction. That’s a piece of history - Joe Montana’s playbook featuring Walsh’s West Coast offense in all its glory. Probably the most influential offensive style ever in football.
Great timing and rythim play..that pretty much beats multiple coverages from a pure progression stand point. Nowadays with nickel defenses and 2 high safeties..that ball probably goes to rathman or craig.
Coach, excellent breakdown of the play. Cannot imagine JM having to compute all that in a few seconds with LT breathing down and trying to smash him. Football was football back then.
Bill Walsh was just so far ahead of his time. I wish he were still w/ us today. I wonder what he would think of the qb's today and how far it's changed from back in his day.
Does coach have all 22/coaches film of qbs from back in the day like elway, Montana, Marino etc? We almost never get to see all 22 from qbs back then, it would be awesome if he had some and broke down their tape.

Fire content coach, keep it up 🏴☠️
*The NFL needs to forgive and give one of the best ever, John Gruden another chance. Got love for ya coach*
Gru’s breakdowns are simply the best!
Amazing would love to see more of this…especially with some film
yeah only thing to make this better would be some access to NFL films for quick montage of some of montana's read from this play
gruden prolly has em but copyright haha

So glad gruden is not on espn anymore, they got analysts trying to blame joe burrow for the bengals loss last night
Yeah he’s slightly above average congrats

dude lost to a rookie, nfl is about wins and losses, and the criticism comes with the accolades, which he has been accustomed to his entire career
People talk like a qb is the only person that makes a TEAM 😂
The 90s were the glory days of NFL.

The Bills went to 4 st8 Super Bowls and lost
Oh man if you could get Joe Montana on the channel now for this !!

Chucky better bolster his security system at the Fired Coaches Hall.
No one does it better. Pure gold. Respect coach!

Favorite part of the channel when Coach Gruden breaks it down for us! Thanks Coach!
Imagine being able to say that you’ve got Joe Montana’s personal playbook from the 1990 season. Absolutely priceless
Oh yeah. That's the season the 9ers went 14-2 (best record in the league) and lost to the Giants in the NFC championship game because Joe was taking out by Leonard Marshall and destroyed his elbow! Otherwise, 9ers would have been the first team to three-peat super bowls.

You can find the full playbook online but then again it’s not Montana’s personal playbook
Jon, you are the best. Glad to see you back. No one breaks down film like you
thanks for sharing.. keep up the great work...
Need an origin story of “Spider 2 Y Banana” the ultimate Coach Gruden play
it's another West Coast/Bill Walsh play.. Fake it to the FB, who then leaks out to the flat, iirc
can’t tell you how awesome it is see what you’re displaying on this channel. a real NFL mind enjoying the games and showing his thoughts/predictions across the all 22

Jon you are the best!! Followed you since your first tour with the Raiders, still a big Raider fan. I take your same passion in work and all of life!
So happy Gruden is in the spotlight again. I’ve learned how to be a good QB because of him.
There's nobody like you coach... Goodness gracious we miss you here, back in the nation🔥☠️🔥

that 3-ring binder can put generations of kids through college. what a gem of an historical NFL keepsake.
Discussing that Walsh playbook from that era could be an fantastic series. Perhaps in the off-season.
I love these videos, great job Jon ‼️ love your passion for the game 🏈
Gruden is the BEST. Thank you for this content 🤛🏼
Absolute GEM of a channel. TY Jon.
That's literally a piece of history there. I'll echo someone else and say more of this would be great especially complimented by video/film.
The fact that we have people like Gruden, Kurt Warner, Steve Smith with youtube channels is crazy to me....and I love it. Thank for doing this coach!!!
Need more of these play breakdowns. I could watch this all day. Let’s see some RAIDERS plays ☠️
Thank you for actually breaking down a play! I would love to see mkre actual analysis of plays and why they worked or didn't work!
Love this! Put Gruden in front of a whiteboard, talkin X's and O's and I'm a happy guy
great stuff for all of us who aren't in the NFL but love football too
An Episode on the zone blitz and the west coast offense would be awesome! Great stuff !
Super Bowl 24. 49ers-Broncos. Joe Montana goes through the full progression and hits Jerry Rice over the middle for a TD on Red Right Slot A-Right 322 Y-Stick Looky.

Montana was such a perfect fit for that offense. Walsh really changed the game.
So much fun!
That deep post was a Jerry Rice special.
He kept Montana’s playbook. And here I thought Coach was already a football genius.
I love that this channel exists
3 min is actually a crime.I need at least an hour of this.
Amazing coach keep up
Miss the Oilers. Miss the Astrodome. Even with John Taylor taking it to the house…❤️
Coach, Henry on the Ravens was having guys bounce off him vs the Cowboys. He is an elite running back to balance the offense with the running game.
Football history right here! Awesome stuff coach!
It would be cool to have a full course or long form videos on plays how they are made, coverages, etc. Lot to learn fir football fans
Need more of this
Hell yeah Coach Gruden bleeds football! Loving his breakdowns
Love it. 76 X Shallow cross all day.
Wow, fascinating. I could watch hrs of it. I subscribed. ❤❤❤
Information no one would have ever known. Thank you Coach 💯
When we played street football, my favorite play was called.
You see that blue car.

Please keep making content Jon you’re the goat in my book
I would love to see that on the grease board and how it works against certain defenses.
Love the channel, bring back grudens QB camp.
You're in Lutz? Hope to see you around one day. You're a hero
