I had same problem with my new Series 8 watch. In my case I use 30w USB C charger and after 2-3 hours my watch got 20%+ and from that point it’s working as expected.
Thanks! Looks like same with me, just opened my new 8 and it was like that. After half an hour still like that, read your comment so I put it back on charger about 50 minutes, now it seems to be working. We’ll see as I set it up , doesn’t instill confidence to start out that way though.

I have a series 6 and just screws red bolt and time even i charge it the bolt charges to green tried wby u suggested and still nothing charged at least 45 mins b4 presing power buttoon

The charger I got with my watch doesn’t even charge it had to go out and buy a new one Best Buy wouldn’t replace the charger even though I had the receipt and everything, kinda stupid that they would sell a watch with a broken charger

I’ve let it sit for 5 days checking it everyday an it’s still showing the red snake. Another video said let it die completely an it just won’t die. Its getting frustrating
Just had the same problem with my apple watch recently. What I did: charge the apple watch, while charging then press both buttons repeatedly, dont stop until the apple logo will come out. For me it takes 20 minutes for the apple logo to come out. There are some 10 or 15 minutes, it depends. I have this idea on the other comments from the other video. It really works. Just sharing to others.

@G. Rasen I had charged my watch in the car and it was so hot it wasn’t even trying to charge. I brought it inside and used a different charger and it wasn’t charging. So I just let it sit for a little bit then 5 hours later it was charging.
Problem is your illustrating with a watch that’s got battery! How about if you get a watch that’s totally out of power! That would make more sense.

20 SECONDS worked, 10 did not on the power button. So, I would suggest holding it at least 30 before you give up.
If its a new apple watch just charge it for 30mins thats it. Turns red into green and its charging
